The most striking feature of the cha lies in its chanical hands. In the right hand of the cha, there’s a greening ion light saber. Just by glancing at the saber’s glow, Fatty could tell how terrifying its cutting power would be under full engine thrust. In the cha’s left hand, there’s a small transparent shield. The material of the shield is unknown, but from its intermittently flashing blue light, it can be seen that the shield’s defense against energy weapons is far superior to the energy shield covering the entire body of a regular cha.
The scorpion-like engine tail suddenly lit up, and the cha darted rapidly towards the old cruiser. The distance between the two sides closed quickly. When the cha breached the effective strike range of the cruiser’s energy cannon, the cruiser, like a startled hedgehog, suddenly bristled with spikes. The main cannon, secondary cannons, and energy bullet chains shot towards the cha.
Sothing that made Fatty gape happened. The cha, typically cumberso compared to space fighters, exhibited agility even surpassing a hummingbird under the power of two massive ion engines. Amidst the rain-like energy bullets, the cha perford inconceivable evasion maneuvers repeatedly.
A chain of energy bullets drew an arc, closely trailing the cha. Just as the cha was about to be hit, one of the ion engines suddenly sprang up. With a violent burst of plasma from the rear end of this engine and the dimming of the other, the cha ascended vertically at a right angle. The chasing energy bullet chain narrowly passed beneath it.
Two more chains of energy bullets crossed each other’s paths, attacking. The cha rolled, its scorpion-claw-shaped engines wrapped in energy shields completely transford into two swimming fishes in water. Dragging the cha at various strange angles and bizarre ways, it darted through the gaps between the energy bullets.
Vertical turns at every angle, backward flight, circular swirl, arc thrust — these moves hard for space fighters were effortlessly and precisely executed. The two swaying engines even perford fake maneuvers. They swayed left and right, and only when one engine’s nozzle suddenly lit up did people know which direction it would turn.
"What are those drag ropes made of?" Fatty imdiately saw the critical point. In space, the separation engine technology is not rare, but making reverse movents repeatedly within huge inertia depended heavily on those two tallic shining ropes pulling the cha.
Without sufficient strength and toughness, randomly changing the engine’s thrust direction at such high speeds would result in breaking.
"No idea!" Boswell replied bluntly.
On the virtual screen, the cha quickly approached the cruiser, nurous artillery firepower utterly helpless against this mad cha. When it entered the cruiser’s own artillery blind spot, the shooting stopped.
In the soundless silence, the engine separated from the cha, adhering to the cruiser hull. The ion light saber in the cha’s hand slowly cut through the cruiser’s armor. As a huge hole was sliced into the hull, the virtual screen dimd.
No need to look anymore. As the cha stuck itself onto the cruiser, it already declared the cruiser’s defeat. The ion light saber in the cha’s hand could destroy every energy cannon on the cruiser, break through armor, sever circuits, open hatches to invade the interior, and open a large hole in the bridge window, turning the cruiser into a death ship.
Boswell was right; such a cha had already changed the combat thods of modern warfare. Its agility, speed, and power are imasurable. At least, chas like [Logic] or [Divine] cannot cut through the warship armor with an ion light saber. They don’t have engines providing sufficient energy.
In space, possibly only carrier fighters could keep this type of space cha away from warships. But, how many carriers does human society possess? If a group of such chas appeared on the logistics supply line, would they pull the main carriers on the battlefield to escort the logistics?
On land, this kind of cha would be even more terrifying. A cha daring to shuttle in warship cannon fire wouldn’t fear energy cannons of regular chas.
Fatty knew, without developing a cha to counter before the Western Alliance massively equips such chas, a division of Level 7 and Level 8 warriors ard with these chas could take over the world.
"I will obey the Command Departnt’s arrangents, whether in research or other tasks, I agree." Fatty broke the silence, looking at Russell with intense eyes: "But, I have one condition."
Russell nodded: "Speak."
Fatty walked to the window, looking at the garden below the mansion and the distant base, took a deep breath and said: "For war, we can only do our best and leave the rest to fate. A new weapon, a campaign, may lead war to an entirely different outco. These matters, I can’t control. But..."
Calmly turning back, he said one word at a ti: "I must find out the truth behind my parents’ deaths! Since it relates to new space jump technology and the whole humanity, and you’ve already started investigating before, I believe the Command Departnt has no reason not to pursue it further. I need the Federation’s unconditional support for the truth while you’re seeking space jump technology!"
Russell and Bernadotte exchanged a smile. Bernadotte said: "In fact, this is not a condition at all. You are a two-ti Purple Emblem Freedom dal recipient, and capturing Gazalin Emperor Jas alone is enough to earn you another sa dal. Everything you’ve done on the front line deserves our respect and support. Especially concerning space jump technology, I can surely tell you, the President has already issued authorization before you returned."
Bernadotte handed Fatty a docunt stamped with the Federation President’s seal and continued: "The authorization specifies, you have the full cooperation of two large-scale Federation enterprises, Central Military Intelligence Bureau, National Security Bureau, newly established 5th Armored Division of Federation Air Marine Corps, Federation Fourth Mixed Fleet, Gallipalan Military Academy, Federation Steel Military Academy, and Federation First Military Academy. You can obtain anything you need through your electronic authority."
"Including the Freedom Front." Russell smilingly added.
"However, we also have one condition." Bernadotte said gravely: "No matter the outco, if it involves the Feiyang Republic or Chuckna Republic, I hope the final decision will be made by the Command Departnt instead of so extre actions by you."
"No negotiation?" Fatty squinted with a smile, staring into Bernadotte’s eyes.
"None!" Bernadotte didn’t back down, hitting back at Fatty’s gaze.
