"Hey. Wake up."

Ryo nudged Lavinia beside him. Only then did he notice she was wearing nothing but a white dress shirt, the open collar revealing a generous amount of skin at her chest.

"Mmm…"

After being pushed, Lavinia let out a sleepy sound and rolled over, changing from facing away from him to facing him directly.

The view was admittedly very pleasing to the eyes, but Ryo could only feel speechless at this point.

You're basically throwing yourself into my bed this willingly, and now I don't even know what I'm supposed to do with you. And all my suggestive remarks yesterday didn't even get a reaction out of you, so why now?

He poked her again, sounding a bit helpless. "Lavinia, it's barely morning and you've already crawled into my bed to steal my blanket. What exactly are you trying to do here?"

"Morning already?" Lavinia raised a hand and rubbed her eyes, looking practically bathed in holy light.

"What else would it be?" Ryo rolled his eyes.

He'd seen airheaded girls before, but never one this hopelessly disconnected from reality. More importantly, why exactly had Lavinia co here in the first place?

At that mont, Lavinia finally noticed the sunlight streaming in through the window.

The apartnt Ryo was staying in happened to be in the sa building as hers, on the sixth floor of the Fallen Academy teachers' dormitory. There were eight rooms on this floor, and the temporary room arranged for Ryo was only a short distance from Lavinia's.

But in Ryo's opinion, that still wasn't a valid explanation for why there was suddenly an extra Lavinia in his bed.

And don't even try telling him she walked into the wrong room by mistake.

He absolutely refused to believe that.

"Ah… looks like it really is morning…"

Lavinia stretched lazily, rubbed away the tears at the corner of her eyes, then yawned.

"Good morning, Mr. Ryo. What a pleasant night that was."

"…What?" Ryo nearly choked.

Pleasant night? You crawled into bed beside three minutes ago!

Who exactly spent a pleasant night with you?

Slander had consequences, you know!

anwhile, Lavinia had already gotten out of bed and walked straight to the wardrobe without the slightest hesitation. She stripped in front of him, tilting her head in confusion, "Huh? Where are my clothes?"

"…"

For the first ti, Ryo genuinely felt that aside from her face and figure, this woman was utterly hopeless.

And yet… he was completely weak to this type.

After thinking for a mont, he pulled out one of Kurousagi's spare outfits from his Gift Card, a white one, and tossed it over.

"Wear this."

"Eh? Why are my clothes with you, Ryo?"

Lavinia picked up the dress with a look of honest surprise.

Ryo rolled his eyes again. At this point, he'd completely given up expecting intelligence from her.

Once she finished changing and stepped into the washroom, Ryo finally asked, "Alright. Explain why you're here."

"Didn't Ryo call for ?" Lavinia replied vaguely through a mouthful of toothpaste foam.

"Do I look like I ordered that kind of service?" Ryo tried to recall last night's events.

He'd spent the evening drinking with Shemhazai, eating Japanese cuisine, teasing a few female Fallen Angels, then around eleven, during lights-out, Akeno had escorted his fake-drunk self back to the apartnt.

If he'd really wanted anything… Wouldn't Akeno have made more sense as the target?

"Hm?"

Lavinia spat out the mouthful of water and blinked at him, "Wasn't it because you said you wanted to try my cooking?"

"…???"

Ryo's face practically beca a giant question mark. "You ca into my room this early in the morning just to cook for ?"

"Yeah!"

Lavinia nodded naturally, as if this made perfect sense.

Ryo's mouth twitched, "Well… thank you for your hard work, then."

This woman… If he actually wanted to, he could probably trick her into getting pregnant five tis over, and she'd still happily raise the children for him afterward.

For the first ti in his life, Ryo truly understood the concept of a "2D ani heroine."

"Are you always like this?" Ryo asked while watching Lavinia leave the washroom and head into the living room, clearly aiming for the kitchen.

"Like what?"

She turned around in confusion.

"I an… how do you even survive daily life?" Ryo asked awkwardly.

He genuinely could not figure out how this girl had managed to grow up safely.

"Glenda takes care of ," Lavinia answered matter-of-factly. "Though after I ca to the Academy, it beca Glenda's maid dolls taking care of instead."

There was a faint trace of attachnt in her voice.

"Who's Glenda?" Ryo asked curiously.

"A witch from Oz."

"A witch from Oz…" Ryo thought back for a mont before rembering the old woman who'd tried to ambush Michael earlier.

She'd also been a witch from Oz.

"Lavinia, what's Augusta to you?"

"An enemy."

Hatred instantly surfaced on Lavinia's face.

"…"

Ryo paused, unsure what to say.

After organizing his thoughts a bit, he roughly pieced together the situation.

Lavinia's guardian was probably part of one faction within the Wizards of Oz, while Augusta belonged to another faction that had persecuted them, leading to Lavinia's hatred.

"So," he asked, "did you co cook for because of Augusta?"

He rembered Azazel had taken Augusta away. After sensing carefully, Ryo discovered her aura was still inside the Academy, sowhere underground. It had also beco extrely weak.

Apparently she'd already gone through interrogation.

So Lavinia's attitude toward him ca from that?

"Eh? Is that why I ca here?"

Lavinia looked completely confused.

…I knew I shouldn't have asked.

Ryo's mouth twitched again.

He watched Lavinia enter the kitchen.

He watched smoke begin drifting into the living room.

No, actually, at this point he could already sll sothing burning.

"I should've seen this coming."

Ryo no longer held even the slightest expectation.

"Lavinia, the range hood! You forgot to turn it on! And the food's burning!"

Scratching his head, Ryo got up and walked into the kitchen.

...

..

On the Underworld train—

A beautiful girl with deep purple hair and luxurious clothing sat stiffly in her seat, nervously staring at the black-haired twin-tailed girl in a nurse outfit standing in front of her with a stethoscope.

"Miss Serafall… what exactly are you trying to do?"

The purple-haired girl, Ingvild Leviathan, shrank back uneasily.

"Obviously I'm here to give you a dical checkup~ Just look at this outfit and you should understand imdiately, right?"

Serafall Leviathan spun around cheerfully on the spot, letting the fluffy pink skirt of her nurse costu flutter everywhere.

Although the skirt was very short, Ingvild sohow felt like it had so sort of magical anti-exposure setting attached to it. She could vaguely sense an unusual magical aura coming from the fabric. Though she had no idea how she was even sensing that.

"Alright then, I heard Ingvild-chan only recently woke up from her long sleep, so big sis here is going to give you a thorough exam—"

Thunk.

Suddenly, a huge bump appeared on Serafall's head.

"Ow!"

While Serafall clutched her head in agony, Grayfia, dressed in her maid uniform, calmly lowered her hand, grabbed Serafall by the back of the collar, and looked toward Ingvild expressionlessly.

"There are still two hours left before we arrive in Kyoto in the human world. At that ti, I will bring you to et His Majesty Ryo Yagami. Please make the necessary preparations."

"O-Okay…"

Ingvild blankly watched as Grayfia dragged the screaming Serafall away.

Although she'd already been inford that Serafall was one of the Great Satans, seeing her act like this sohow made Ingvild feel that the title wasn't all that frightening.

And following that logic… The man called Ryo probably wouldn't make things too difficult for an ordinary human girl like her either, right?

Seventeen-year-old Ingvild Leviathan, who had fallen asleep for nearly a century because of Devil Sleep Disease and still hadn't fully accepted what had happened to her life, quietly wrote those thoughts into her diary in crooked ballpoint pen handwriting while riding the train.
