"Sirzechs Lucifer, Ajuka Beelzebub. For two Satans to co in person through a secret channel… what a pleasant surprise."
Azazel walked ahead, leading the way with a grin that practically scread bad intentions.
Ajuka cast him a cold glance. He was extrely wary of this old scher.
Just along the way, he had already laid down more than a hundred spells. Escape asures, poison counters, ambush triggers, detection arrays… the works. If Azazel made a move, Ajuka wouldn't hesitate to kill him first.
They were here for negotiations, sure. But if they managed to eliminate the Fallen Angels' Governor along the way, that wouldn't be a loss. It would push the hawkish faction among the Fallen Angels into power, and then they could drop the bombshell of the Creator God's revival.
Compared to Ajuka's layered preparations, Sirzechs kept a gentle smile, as if he were simply a visiting guest. "Azazel, you said we'd talk in the reception room. Are we there yet?"
They had co to Yasaka Shrine in Kyoto through Baraqiel's channel, but Azazel was the one who greeted them upon arrival. Deciding to play along and respond as things ca, they followed him along an outer path into the shrine's inner compound.
But the longer they walked, the more suspicious Sirzechs beca.
He was Satan Lucifer. Azazel was the Fallen Angels' Governor. Couldn't they just find a quiet room anywhere? Why keep walking for three straight minutes?
Was Azazel stalling, setting up an ambush?
At that mont, Azazel asked in surprise, "Oh? Didn't your little sister send the information back?"
Sirzechs frowned, not understanding what he ant. What information? What had Rias gone through?
"That's odd," Azazel muttered, seeing Sirzechs's confusion. Still, he didn't dwell on it. In his view, Sirzechs probably hadn't imagined just how big the matter Ryo stirred up actually was.
"Well, since you don't know, I'll fill you in."
Azazel spread his hands casually and smiled. "Half a day ago, I stepped down as Governor of the Fallen Angels. I'm currently taking you to et our new Governor."
"Co to think of it, Miss Rias witnessed the whole thing. Didn't she tell you anything?"
The Fallen Angels changed Governors?
Damn it, Rias, what were you doing? How did you not send this back?
Sirzechs froze.
What exactly had his idiot little sister been thinking? She personally witnessed the leadership change among the Fallen Angels and didn't report it? Was her brain broken?
"I haven't heard anything about this at all."
Sirzechs's face darkened. He almost wanted to grab a broom and chase soone down.
That brat had always been obedient. How did she manage to ss up this badly this ti? Was she trying to get soone killed?
Ajuka, recovering from the shock, spoke in a strange tone.
"Perhaps… she thought the ssage couldn't get out?"
Witnessing a change of Governor in front of a crowd of Fallen Angel executives? In Ajuka's view, Rias probably doubted whether she'd even survive, let alone send information. If it were him, he would assu the ssage wouldn't get through either.
Azazel fanned the flas with a grin. "You two are joking. Our new Governor allowed the young lady complete freedom of movent."
Ajuka imdiately fell silent.
If even the forr Governor said that, then Rias probably hadn't been restricted at all. As for why no information ca back… that was likely Rias's problem.
"That stupid girl…" Sirzechs's lips twitched. If not for the setting, and the fact she hadn't been dragged back yet, he would've had their mother skin her alive.
At that mont, Azazel stopped in front of a corridor and gestured toward a sliding door on the right.
"Gentlen, we're here."
Sirzechs and Ajuka halted in silence.
The door slid open, revealing the figure inside.
A man sat cross-legged behind a low desk, wearing black-rimd glasses, calmly reading through a stack of docunts.
His hair was jet black, his features handso. His lips were slightly thin, his eyes bright and piercing. Even at a glance, Sirzechs could feel the strength of his ntal presence.
This man…
Sirzechs felt a jolt of recognition.
He had seen that face before. In the Devils' reports on the Kyoto incident, in the files concerning Kuroka, there had been a photograph.
The man who had beco the leader of Kyoto's yokai in a single day.
And now he had beco Governor of the Fallen Angels?
For the first ti, Sirzechs felt how absurd reality could be.
If soone had told him yesterday that a person could beco the master of Kyoto's yokai in one day and Governor of the Fallen Angels in two, he would've laughed it off as nonsense.
But now he couldn't laugh.
Soone had actually done it.
Ryo looked up from behind the desk, removed his glasses, and pointed at the cushions in front of him.
"Sit."
Sirzechs and Ajuka exchanged a glance. Ajuka subtly shook his head, signaling there were no traps.
Sirzechs sighed and stepped forward, sitting on one cushion. Ajuka followed, taking the other.
Azazel stayed by the doorway with a grin and asked, "Governor, mind if I stand here and watch?"
"Suit yourself," Ryo replied casually.
'The old fox just wants to watch us make fools of ourselves…' Sirzechs and Ajuka both thought.
At the sa ti, they began considering counterasures.
The Kyoto yokai and Fallen Angels had joined forces.
Sirzechs wasn't particularly afraid of being surrounded by Fallen Angels or yokai.
But add Ryo Yagami. That changed things.
Based on the current analysis, Ryo Yagami alone could likely hold Sirzechs back. In a bad scenario, Sirzechs might even lose.
If Ryo coordinated the Fallen Angels and yokai to surround the two of them, they might actually be trapped here.
'We miscalculated…' Ajuka rubbed his brow.
Sirzechs's expression also darkened.
After his sister Rias delivered herself, had he now co to do the sa?
Wait… had they intentionally kept Rias to lure him in?
And he had walked right into it. Not only ca himself, he even brought Ajuka along.
Damn.
The more he thought about it, the more he felt like an idiot.
At that mont, Ryo asked casually from behind the desk. "What kind of news would make Lilith send the two of you personally?"
