Wanting to find out what had ended up happening while he had been in seclusion, Chu Yang decided to slowly start making his way in the direction of another major city to hopefully find soone who knew what had ended up happening. Not daring to move too fast, as he still feared accidentally walking onto a potentially active battlefield.
Although the possibility of sothing like that was not that high considering he should sense any major battles taking place from a distance, it was still better to be cautious when it ca to these kinds of things as one wrong move could potentially end up costing him his life with Celestial Immortal Realm cultivators involved. After all, with his current strength, he had no way to deal with soone in the Celestial Immortal Realm, his best option was to stay out of the way and avoid conflict.
For this reason, as he reached the closest major city to the one, he had been in seclusion next to and found out that it had also been destroyed, he couldn’t help feeling a shiver running down his spine. Realizing that the conflict that had broken out during his seclusion was indeed one that was far reaching and impacted more than just a single major city.
Even more troubling than that was the fact that the major city he had just arrived at was one that was related to a completely different major power that should have been allied with the one affiliated to the major power he had been in seclusion next to. aning that it was more than just two major powers clashing with each other and might really be the entire Eastern Central Region that had been dragged into a massive battle.
But outside of the destruction he found while wandering through the ruined buildings of what had once been a massive city capable of resisting soone in the Early Stage of the Celestial Immortal Realm, Chu Yang was taken aback by the sheer lack of people scouring through the ruins of the once massive city.
Normally, a destroyed city at that level would attract countless wandering cultivators to scour through the ruins to look for any artifacts, spirit stones or other precious cultivation resources that might have been left behind, but the only people he saw were a few mortals and weaker cultivators wandering aimlessly through the ruins without the slightest clue about what had happened. The strongest among them having barely broken through to the Core Formation Realm.
In the end, even after asking everyone he could, no one had any clue about what had ended up happening to the city. The only one who provided him with so clue as to what might have happened was the strongest cultivator still present in the city, soone who had reached the Late Stage of the Core Formation Realm.
From what he could only barely recall, he had been approaching the city together with a small group of friends to trade so of the demon beast they had caught during a small excursion to a local mountain range known for its abundance of Mortal Grade Spiritual Herbs and Foundation Establishnt Realm demon beast , when an enormous root that blotted out the sun appeared out of thin air before descending towards the city with a terrifying might that made him and his companions unable to do anything other than stare fearfully at the descending root as it effortlessly broke apart the guardian formation of the city and crashed into the city below.
What ca after that was a blur, as all he could rember was being hit by a terrifying shockwave that flung him hundreds of kiloters away before coming to a stop after crashing into a small hill. Only surviving thanks to the distance from the impact and a small talisman that he had excavated from an old ruin in the past.
The small talisman in question had clearly been far from simple, as his other companions, so who had even reached the Nascent Soul Realm hadn’t managed to survive, but to Chu Yang, none of this mattered, as he was far more focused on the root that had seemingly appeared out of nowhere to destroy the city in an effortless manner.
That towering tree root blotting out the sun as it descended and destroyed the city should be the doing of an extrely powerful cultivator proficient in the Dao of Nature, but why they decided to attack the city is still a mystery...
Thinking this to himself as he let out a heavy sigh after having essentially confird that the destruction of the second city and likely also the one, he had been in seclusion next to had ended up being destroyed by a single powerful individual, he couldn’t help feeling even more uneasy than before.
I think it’s about ti I head back to the sect before I end up getting dragged into whatever battle is taking place here.
And so, without much hesitation, Chu Yang decided that his adventure outside the sect was coming to an end earlier than originally planned. Intending to get out of the Eastern Central Region as fast as possible to avoid getting dragged into the conflict that was brewing or had already broken out throughout the region.
Even if the conflict had not yet broken out, he was certain that it should be close to doing so from just how several major cities had already been destroyed.
At the off chance that it was so powerful cultivator from outside the Eastern Central Region passing through, Chu Yang understood that there was still a high chance of the less impacted major powers taking advantage of the now weakened major powers to try and expand their own influence and power, sothing that would still end up resulting in a major conflict he would very much like to avoid being a part of.
All things considered, leaving the Eastern Central Region was the safest option.
Now...
The problem was how to leave the Eastern Central Region safely, as it would still take him close to a month of travel to get back to the Northern Central Region...
