As the endless sea of fire moved alongside the flying sword to conjure the image of a towering sword of flas that could barely fit inside first floor of the pagoda, Xuan Hao moved seamlessly to defend against the incoming attack by having a section of his illusory spiritual sea vaporize into a fine mist that soon enough turned into raging blizzard ford through the Dao of Ice... And as the two forces clashed with each other, a loud crackling sound echoed out from ice colliding with fire, as the towering sword of flas burned a path through the blizzard.
How... Terrifying...The one who set up this formation didn’t just have a deep understanding of the Dao of Formations, but clearly also had a deep comprehension of the Dao of Fire. If I’m not wrong, that person’s understanding of the Dao of Fire should have surpassed the Perfection Realm. Luckily, the formation doesn’t have the strength left to fully utilize the strength of this flying sword. If it did... Even my real body wouldn’t stand a chance...

Giving Chu Yang’s new friends a chance to find a potential flaw that might appear in the already ancient formation after it was pushed to its limits. Giving them a chance to escape before his soul imprint ran out of strength.
At the start, he had felt hopeful in being able to win the battle, but after the first clash, he had realized that there was no way for him to hold on long enough for the formation to run out of strength.
The reason behind this was not so much that he didn’t have the strength to do so, but more so that he needed to use far more strength than expected to guard Chu Yang and hi new friends from being swallowed up by the sea of fire that had been created by the flying sword.
The flying sword itself not discriminating about who it targeted, as it intended on killing everyone who had broken into the pagoda equally. The reason for its focus mainly being on Xuan Hao simply had to do with the fact that he was the strongest intruder; the rest had not been forgotten, as it was constantly attempting to burn them the second Xuan Hao lowered his defense of them slightly to focus more on clashing with the flying sword.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
Like this, half a minute flew by with the flying sword slowly carving a path through the dao domain and spiritual sea straight towards Xuan Hao with an unstoppable montum. Even if Xuan Hao wanted to try and stop it by now, it was already too late, as it had managed to do far too much damage to both his illusory dao domain and spiritual sea by now.
Having originally believed that he would be able to last over a minute, he was forced to realize that even lasting another ten seconds in his current state would be a doubtful endeavor...

Luckily, one of the formation masters that Chu Yang had befriended managed to find a flaw in the formation, a small formation symbol that had cracked slightly due to both lack of maintenance and the new strain brought by the battle taking place.
Small as this flaw was, it was more than enough for a skilled formation master to exploit and gain montary access to the formation’s internal structure, a powerful enough formation master might even be able to use such a small flaw to directly rewrite and overtake the formation.
However, there was no such formation master amidst the wandering cultivators turned formation masters. Leaving only one choice when it ca to what to do with the small flaw... And that was to create a small hole in the formation that they would be able to escape through. Not that different from how they had originally escaped from the flying ship a few hours earlier...

Not intending to waste what little strength was still left in the soul imprint to fend off against the flying sword while these people slowly made their way out of the pagoda...
