Fang Hong's heart tightened, and he instinctively looked up, only to see a flock of bald Black Fla Birds fiercely pouncing on him.
These bald Black Fla Birds were enormous, each one more than half a person tall.
They were covered in black feathers, with large, sharp beaks and incredibly sharp claws that glinted coldly.
"Black Fla Birds." Fang Hong exclaid in surprise.
Black Fla Birds are well-known Second-Level Vicious Beasts in the area, usually appearing in flocks, and they are very skilled in aerial combat, specifically attacking passing cultivators.
Fang Hong landed steadily on the Black Sand, but the flock of Black Fla Birds remained relentless, their sharp cries piercing the sky as they shrieked and lunged again.
If an ordinary early stage of foundation building cultivator encountered this ferocious flock of Black Fla Birds, they would likely be in great trouble.
But unfortunately, today they encountered Fang Hong.
Fang Hong slapped his Storage Pouch, and in an instant, fifty Ice Spike Talismans shot out.
These Ice Spike Talismans quickly unfurled in the air, the talisman paper instantly glowing with a blue light, then the light intensified, instantly transforming into a sky full of Ice Spikes that pierced towards the flock of Black Fla Birds.
Caw. Caw. Caw.
The cries of the Black Fla Birds rang out again, but this ti, the sound was filled with pain and fear.
Bathed in the sky full of Ice Spikes, they continuously let out mournful shrieks.
The Ice Spikes rcilessly penetrated their bodies, black feathers fluttered down, and blood splattered through the air.
One by one, the Black Fla Birds fell from the sky, crashing heavily onto the Black Sand, kicking up plus of dust.
Their bodies struggled and thrashed on the sandy surface, their wings weakly flapping the ground, but they could no longer fly.
Although Black Fla Birds appeared incredibly vicious, they were, after all, only Second-Level Demonic Beasts. In Fang Hong's eyes, they were rely a disorganized mob that could be easily eliminated with Interdiate talismans.
After only a mont, the entire flock of Black Fla Birds was annihilated, lying on the ground lifeless.
Their bodies lay scattered across the Black Sand, forming a tragic scene.
Fang Hong smiled contentedly; he counted carefully, there were twenty Black Fla Birds in total, a decent harvest.
The spirit pills refined from these twenty Black Fla Birds would allow his cultivation to improve further.
Fang Hong did not delay, imdiately taking out his demon gourd to collect the Black Fla Birds' corpses and refine them all into spirit pills.
Rumble. Rumble.
Just as Fang Hong finished collecting the corpses, suddenly, the surrounding Black Sand emitted a dull rumbling sound and began to violently churn.
The previously calm Black Sand continuously rolled and surged.
Fang Hong's expression instantly changed, and he quickly retreated. Just as he stepped back, there was a loud "crash," and two giant centipedes erged from beneath the sand.
These two centipedes were enormous, nearly thirty feet long, and covered entirely in black scales.
Their heads were pointed, with a pair of extrely sharp venomous stingers, from which dark green venom dripped.
"Black Armor Centipedes." Fang Hong's pupils contracted slightly, and he couldn't help but exclaim.
These two giant centipedes were nad "Black Armor Centipedes," famous Vicious Beasts of the Black Desert.
Moreover, the strength of these two Black Armor Centipedes before Fang Hong had already reached Fourth-Level, comparable to human Foundation Establishnt Stage Cultivators.
Fang Hong's expression imdiately cald down, and he took a deep breath.
If it were before, he would have long since fled on his flying Spiritual Artifact, but now he had Advanced Lightning Thorn Talismans in hand, so there was no need to panic; killing them would be a great harvest.
Squeak. Squeak. Squeak.
The two Black Armor Centipedes instantly launched their attack, their massive bodies twisting and stirring up a strong cloud of sand.
They split into two paths, one from the left and one from the right, rushing towards Fang Hong at extre speed, attempting to encircle him.
Fang Hong, of course, would not sit back and wait for death. He imdiately leaped into the air, pushing off the ground with his feet, his body flying upwards.
Seeing this, the Black Armor Centipedes imdiately twisted their massive bodies, trying to sweep Fang Hong down from the air.
Fang Hong quickly slapped several speed talismans onto himself. As the talismans touched his body, they transford into streaks of light and rged into him.
Instantly, his speed greatly increased, and he moved like a phantom, easily dodging the centipedes' sudden attack.
Puff. Puff. Puff.
Seeing their attack was ineffective, the Black Armor Centipedes opened their huge mouths and spat two streams of black flas at Fang Hong.
The black flas, carrying rolling heat waves and a pungent sll, surged towards Fang Hong.
Fang Hong's expression was solemn; he quickly threw out thirty Golden Wall Talismans.
The Golden Wall Talismans rapidly unfolded in the air, transforming into a golden wall that firmly blocked in front of him.
The black flas crashed against the golden wall, emitting loud "bang, bang" sounds and splattering golden sparks.
The powerful impact made Fang Hong's arm slightly numb, but fortunately, the Golden Wall Talismans had extrely strong defensive power and successfully blocked the attack.
Fang Hong did not want to be passively beaten, so while dodging attacks, he kept looking for weaknesses in the two centipedes.
Finally, he discovered that when the two centipedes turned to attack, the neck area below their heads would be briefly exposed, and the scales there were relatively thinner.
"Now's the ti."
Fang Hong finally seized an opportunity. He unhesitatingly unleashed a Thunder Thorn Talisman, and after activating it, purple lightning appeared again.
Sizzle.
The purple lightning shot towards the two centipedes at an extrely fast speed.
Crack. Crack. Crack.
Although the Fourth-Level Black Armor Centipedes' defense was strong, it appeared fragile in front of the Advanced Lightning Thorn Talisman.
The purple lightning instantly pierced through the two centipedes' large heads, and blood sprayed out like a fountain.
The bodies of the two centipedes stiffened abruptly, their originally fierce eyes instantly losing their luster.
The two Black Armor Centipedes roared a few tis, their huge bodies struggled on the sandy surface a few tis, then they heavily collapsed onto the sand, kicking up large clouds of dust, completely dead.
Fang Hong landed beside them, letting out a long sigh of relief. He had finally dealt with them; if it weren't for the Thunder Thorn Talismans, he wouldn't have dared to provoke the Black Armor Centipedes.
Fang Hong did not delay. He took out his Ice Spirit Sword and cut off so of the centipedes' venomous stingers and scales.
These venomous stingers and scales were rare Artifact Refining materials and could be used to refine Spiritual Artifacts when he returned.
The rest, he fed entirely to his demon gourd, refining them into spirit pills.
Having quickly done all this, Fang Hong dared not stay in the Black Desert for long, lest any other accidents occur. He quickly flew away on his Fire Dragon Gourd.
…
Six hours later, Fang Hong finally passed through the Black Desert without incident, having killed many Second and Third-Level Demonic Beasts along the way.
Before him now appeared a majestic mountain, estimated to be about seven to eight thousand feet tall, its peak covered in pristine ice and snow. White Desert Mountain had finally been reached.
