After finishing the conversation with David, he hurriedly ended the communication without even having ti to say goodbye.
From the slight anxiety and urgency in his emotions, despite his best efforts to conceal them, Jeming estimated that this guy likely had a pile of debts yet to be cleared.
Jeming hung up the communication and couldn't help but chuckle.
He realized that in the wizarding civilization, if you aren't burdened with at least a century's worth of debt, you're not even comfortable telling others you're a "genius."
This is actually understandable.
After all, for a group like wizards who are extrely rational and believe in equivalent exchange, so-called "investnt" is never without conditions.
Only when it's confird that you have potential to advance further, bringing them enough returns, will High Tier Wizards or large organizations be willing to invest in you.
In the wizarding civilization, the amount of debt a wizard carries to so extent represents the external recognition of your potential.
Those wizards with true potential often bear enormous debts.
After parting with David, Jeming once again imrsed himself in studying the vast array of spatial knowledge.
He estimated that it would be a short ti before he could have another chat with David.
Since the other party had decided to go into seclusion to advance to a Second Level Wizard, there would be no response for years, possibly decades.
The reason Jeming was able to advance to a Second Level Wizard in just a few months was that during his fifty long years in the Ice and Fla Plane, he had already spent ti to complete most of the prerequisites for advancent.
The most critical and ti-consuming step from a First Level Wizard to a Second Level Wizard is the comprehensive and systematic "reorganization" and integration of all the knowledge learned since the apprentice era.
This ans the ti required for a First Level to advance to a Second Level Wizard varies significantly based on each wizard's knowledge base.
Wizards of the Logistics Elent, because of their vast and extensive knowledge, require an astronomical amount of information to reorganize and integrate during their advancent.
This causes their advancents to be generally slow, asured in years, making it impossible to advance in the ever-changing battlefield.
On the other hand, Combat Elent wizards are quite the opposite.
Their knowledge is mostly focused on combat and killing, with a relatively simple and pure system.
During advancent, they usually only need to spend a few days reorganizing and optimizing their combat system to quickly complete advancent.
Thus, on the battlefield, Combat Elent wizards often advance at an astonishing speed.
Basically, as long as they're lucky enough to obtain enough resources and seize the opportunity for combat insights, they can advance on the spot.
But the advancent speed of Logistics Elent wizards is much slower.
Of course, a higher level doesn't necessarily an enhanced combat power.
The true strength of a wizard is influenced by the depth of knowledge and the depth of understanding of that knowledge.
A wizard's level increases their capacity to contain and release power, but it doesn't an you can fully utilize that capacity.
Many top-tier Sixth Level Wizards have enough resources and wealth to pile up hundreds of "fast-track" wizards of the sa level in a short ti purely by resources.
However, these fast-tracked Sixth Level Wizards have virtually no real combat power.
Not to ntion competing against elite alchemical units created by normal Sixth Level Wizards themselves, such "fast-track" wizards would probably lose even to indigenous gods relying on instinctive combat at the sa level.
Like Viola, for example.
She advanced to a Sixth Level Wizard with a single vial of "Soul Ascension Potion," appearing powerful and imposing.
In reality, besides the "Pain" Law-related knowledge and applications she had already thoroughly researched, her combat power in other aspects isn't worth comparing to real veteran Fifth Level Wizards; she likely couldn't contend even with ordinary Logistics Elent Fourth Level Wizards who have solid knowledge reserves.
The reason Professor Clark rushed to the Ice and Fla Plane to have Viola assist him, apart from capturing her for debt repaynt and to quickly access top-notch material like the Living Plane, was to allow Viola to accumulate enough knowledge and experience through assisting.
So her powerful yet empty strength could be transford into true power at the earliest possible.
In the subsequent period, aided by the Body Refining Technique, Jeming learned space knowledge faster than he anticipated.
In the end, it took him just over twenty years to fully learn knowledge it was originally estimated would take nearly a century and to understand it profoundly.
Upon completing his studies, he further confird one thing—the space knowledge designated by Master Roland had little practical use for him now.
Though he now understood the various manifestations and theoretical content concerning "spatial fissures," his current spiritual power intensity and soul's observational ability were insufficient to directly observe these microscopic phenona existing within the space layers.
Unable to observe, unable to manipulate.
So, this high-end knowledge, at this stage, besides repaying part of his loan, indeed has no practical use.
However, Jeming wasn't too disappointed.
He had anticipated such a situation long ago.
The knowledge of a wizard is progressive; although this spatial knowledge he's learned is not useful now, it will save him a great deal of trouble when he advances to the Third Level and deals with spatial knowledge.
Laying a foundation in advance is never a bad thing.
After so ti, Jeming confird that his "All-Purpose Eye" witchcraft model had evolved into a whole new form with the integration of this new knowledge; he quickly contacted Master Roland from the Tower of Annihilation again.
"Oh? Wizard Jeming? You completed it?"
When Master Roland saw Jeming's ssage on the other end of the communication, his tone was filled with undisguised shock.
In his view, for Jeming to complete this task within a century would already be considered extraordinary talent.
He never expected that it only took the other party just over twenty years.
And when he received the optimized and upgraded "All-Purpose Eye" witchcraft model from Jeming and loaded it into his own Sea of Spirit for a simple test, he was even more astonished.
The observational effect was even better than he expected!
Jeming not only completed the task, but the quality of completion was unimaginably high!
The observational ability at such a level, Roland originally estimated, would require Jeming to be a Third Level Wizard to possibly possess.
The change in witchcraft itself is closely linked to a wizard's understanding ability of knowledge.
This showed that Jeming not only learned that knowledge, but his understanding of spatial knowledge was even deeper than so Third Level Wizards who specialize in this field!
"Unbelievable... truly unbelievable!" Master Roland sincerely praised, "Wizard Jeming, you have unparalleled talent in spatial perception and model construction! If... you are willing, after you advance to the Third Level, you can fully join my research team! I guarantee, you will receive the best resources and cutting-edge knowledge in spatial gap research!"
"Well... I still have to see my ntor's arrangents..."
Faced with the solemn invitation of a Fifth Level Wizard, Jeming awkwardly smiled, politely declining his invitation.
Jeming also knew that what Wizard Roland said was true, but there was quite a bit of water to it.
After all, the so-called "spatial gap" is just a very insignificant small branch within the body of spatial knowledge.
Jeming believed that Roland's words about it being cutting-edge knowledge were true, since this thing indeed isn't very useful among spatial knowledge, and its effects can be easily covered and replaced by other spatial knowledge.
Jeming estimated that "spatial gap" is essential prerequisite knowledge for so special witchcraft of the Tower of Annihilation, which is why Wizard Roland would study it so.
No matter how you look at it, there's no need for him to delve into the knowledge of "spatial gap."
After being tactfully refused by Jeming, Master Roland also expressed great regret.
But he didn't get angry because of it; instead, his attitude beca even warr.
He seed determined to establish a good relationship with Jeming, this "genius" with enormous potential.
"In that case, I won't insist." Master Roland's tone carried a hint of regret, then he changed the subject, "By the way, Wizard Jeming, to thank you for your excellent work this ti, I personally want to give you a small gift. Are you interested in a spatial witchcraft artifact for teleportation escape, with better effects?"
"I can help you connect with my Seventh Level ntor, who can personally craft a piece tailored for you." He offered a temptation that made Jeming's heart skip a beat.
"The spatial witchcraft artifact crafted by the mighty power of a Seventh Level Wizard can ignore most spatial interference or effects like spatial imprisonnt! Absolutely the best choice for preserving life!"
Seeing what might be Jeming's concerns, Master Roland added, "Of course, there's no need to worry about the price. Even if you can't afford it now, it doesn't matter; you can... continue to take a loan from my ntor!"
Upon hearing the words "loan," Jeming imdiately understood what the guy was actually up to.
He could only awkwardly smile again, quickly turning down this "kindness" of the other party.
To owe a debt to a Fifth Level Wizard, he would have to repay it until Level Three.
If he were to owe a debt to a Seventh Level power any further, he'd probably never recover in this lifeti.
Master Roland also appeared sowhat regretful.
Before ending the communication, he still stated that if Jeming changed his mind in the future, he could contact him anyti.
