In the Netherworld Forest, dozens of types of tals and ores, Xuan Gold included, floated before Wang Xiu.
With a single thought, the Four Symbols Great Array that he had previously laid out across the entire mountain forest instantly activated. Divine Beast Power surged, augnting his own strength. Orbs of incomparably brilliant Vermilion Bird spiritual fire rose slowly from the surrounding void, creating what looked like a sea of fire. All the materials began to tumble within this sea of flas.
...
If a master smith well-versed in this craft were present, they would have been so frightened by Wang Xiu’s actions that they would have been at a loss for words. He was actually attempting to forge dozens of materials—all with entirely different textures, tenacities, and properties, so even diatrically opposed—into a single, perfectly fused body!
Even with the sa type of material, significant differences exist between individual pieces. The purity, the concentration of spiritual energy, and the quantity of impurities all vary. Purifying them requires completely different temperatures and forging intensities. This was to say nothing of what Wang Xiu was attempting: throwing over a dozen different materials, so thirty-odd individual pieces, into the fire like a chaotic stew. Each piece demanded unique forging conditions.
Moreover, different materials could trigger new elental reactions during the slting and hamring process. For example, when Cold Iron Gold Essence is burned, its expelled impurities, under continuous heating, will form Cold Condensation Crystals. When these crystals encounter the scorching core produced during the slting of Blazing Profound Iron, a violent explosion occurs. A substantial amount could even pose a fatal threat to the smith.
That was the risk with just two materials. Wang Xiu, however, had tossed in more than a dozen. These were the most high-grade materials he had selected from the belongings of the Ghost King Sect powerhouses. If this batch exploded, even a Nascent Soul Stage expert would be skinned alive!
...
Yet, Wang Xiu appeared completely calm. He divided his Divine Sense into dozens of strands, multitasking with ease as he constantly adjusted the temperature of every region within the sea of fire. Having mastered the Primordial God Refining Technique to the point of perfection, his understanding of these materials and his control over the flas were masterful, verging on the divine.
He knew instinctively when to adjust the temperature and when to hamr with Mana. Sotis, it didn’t even require conscious thought. The faintest sound would alert him to which piece of material had a problem, and his hands would react faster than his mind to resolve it. The entire process had beco second nature.
...
Gradually, under Wang Xiu’s control, the auras of all the materials began to rge. Even those with opposing properties showed no signs of repulsion; on the contrary, they coexisted peacefully.
At this point, his hand seals changed abruptly. The massive hamr suspended in mid-air descended fiercely, striking the materials in the sea of fire.
CLANG!
CLANG-CLANG-CLANG-CLANG...
Though it seed like a single strike, a dense cacophony of thousands of hamr blows instantly echoed through the forest. The initial fire refining was rely to remove impurities—the preparatory work. This was the true essence of the Primordial God Refining Technique.
If one were to observe closely, they would see that in the instant the hamr fell, it struck over a thousand tis in an extrely short and rapid succession, with each blow landing on a different spot.
The human body has acupoints, Dao Voids, vital spots, and lifelines. A slight alteration can affect a person’s aptitude and destiny. In the understanding of the creator of the Primordial God Refining Technique, all things have a spirit. These naturally ford tals and ores also possessed their own lifelines, which he called "spiritual patterns."
The arrangent of these spiritual patterns determined a material’s value. The more precious the material, the more complex and exquisite its spiritual patterns. Low-grade materials, lacking sufficient spiritual energy, could not form such intricate structures.
But with Wang Xiu’s one hamr blow transforming into a thousand, each strike landed on a critical point of the materials’ spiritual patterns. This caused the patterns to shift, change, and continuously rge, ultimately leading to their complete recombination.
The incessant ringing of the hamr, far from being jarring, carried an indescribable charm, reminiscent of flowing water from high mountains or the profound sound of the Great Dao. Under this chiseling, the materials continuously changed shape and fused as the last of their impurities were expelled. Dozens of pieces gradually beca one, their spiritual patterns reorganizing under Wang Xiu’s control. A faint light began to emanate from their surfaces as they grew clearer and purer.
CLANG!
Finally, with the last strike of the hamr, rays of mysterious light burst through the sea of fire, interweaving as they shot toward the sky.
When the light dissipated and the sea of flas receded, several fist-sized tal ingots lay quietly in the space before him, each radiating a crystal-clear luminescence.
"Five Elents True Gold, Six Flas Crystal Marrow, Cold Jade Glaze... Success!" A smile appeared on Wang Xiu’s face as he looked at the seven or eight pieces of new material.
The previous batch of materials was typically used as core components for high-grade or superior Magic Artifacts, with an average price of around one thousand Spirit Stones each. But these new ingots before him could feasibly be used as auxiliary materials for forging Superior Spirit Instrunts. If taken to the rchant guilds of Vermilion Bird City, they could easily sell for over ten thousand Spirit Stones—an increase of more than tenfold.
Of course, the true increase in value couldn’t be asured in Spirit Stones. Wang Xiu’s original materials had all been scavenged from the Space Rings of the Ghost King Sect mbers and were mostly suited for cultivators of The Demonic Path, such as Profound Nether Yin Crystal and Black Blood Fiend Stone. Items forged from them would radiate an overwhelming, evil aura. Yet after being tempered by Wang Xiu’s Primordial God Refining Technique, they now possessed a grand and righteous aura, completely shed of their evil nature and Demonic Qi, as if they had been thoroughly purified.
...
With the materials taken care of, it was ti to make the Puppets.
He picked out a pile of relatively common materials from his Space Ring, then summoned about a dozen Flying Swords and daggers to levitate in the air. He didn’t have a specialized carving tool for Puppets, so he would make do with these for now.
Wang Xiu moved swiftly. With gestures of his hands, he constantly shaped the materials according to the designs in his mind. Several Flying Swords danced through the air, carving continuously and altering internal details. Axles, bearings, transmission systems, cables... one by one, exquisitely precise components rapidly took shape and were assembled.
In the end, four Puppets of varying sizes stood before him. Two of them had wings and resembled birds, standing half as tall as a person. Their wings were as sharp as blades, capable of easily slicing through the branches of ordinary trees. The third and fourth Puppets looked like two large boxes. Their upper halves were semi-circular, like Pill Furnaces, while the details of their lower halves differed slightly.
Wang Xiu clapped his hands, his eyes filled with anticipation. "Go!"
At his command, the eyes of the two bird-like Puppets glowed green. Flapping their wings, they took off and flew toward the nearest Netherworld Tree. They circled up the trunk, their blade-like wings cutting down swathes of Netherworld Leaves and Netherworld Fruits wherever they passed. With a clear division of labor, they stored the leaves and fruits in separate, built-in chanical baskets.
Once full, they flew back and transferred their haul to the remaining two Puppets. The two box-like chanical Puppets extended their arms, pouring the contents of the baskets into their furnace-like bodies. Then, a red light flashed as the Formations within the Puppets activated, causing flas to rise. One was responsible for shredding and drying the Netherworld Leaves, while the other was responsible for dehydrating the Netherworld Fruits and chopping them into pieces.
That’s right. Wang Xiu had perfectly drawn upon the successful experiences from the society of his past life.
He had brought the assembly line to this world.
