Wave after wave of Shadow Fiends erged from the passage, blanketing the sky as they wreaked havoc, battled fiercely, and tried to shatter the Holy Artifact to destroy the portal.

On the ark, several figures were locked in combat. The leader was an old man, a Great Ability of the Ergence Stage. If Wang Xiu were here, he would have recognized this as Elder Hao, the one who had sent them into the Holy Realm.

At this mont, he was drenched in blood, his body radiating runes that soared to the heavens. Filled with murderous intent, each of his attacks turned several demons into a mist of blood, displaying unparalleled martial prowess. But the demons were simply too nurous, and such a killing thod was proving ineffective. They had been locked in this fierce battle for far too long and would soon be unable to continue. The deck of the ark was already piled high with corpses, both human and demonic.

"What a bunch of trash, taking so long to take them down!" a furious roar resounded.

From the spatial portal, two figures slowly erged. Both were humanoid, but they had bone spurs, blood-red skin, and a poisonous tail like a scorpion’s. The one who had just spoken was one of them. They were powerhouses of the Scorpion Demon Race with powerful, nearly pure bloodlines and extrely high Realms. Having already caused a massacre in Vermilion Bird City, they had now co to end this battle once and for all.

Elder Hao’s expression was grim. The power of these two Scorpion Demons was imnse. In his current, weakened state, dealing with one was a struggle, let alone two.

"What are the people inside doing? Why haven’t they co out yet?" a human expert next to him asked anxiously.

They were standing guard here to escort the young prodigies out of the Ancient Sanctuary. They had to prevent an entire generation from being wiped out. The loss would be incalculable! The Demon Race knew this as well and had dispatched a large number of their experts to launch a fierce assault on this position.

Although the Human Race experts were resisting with all their might, they couldn’t prevent so from slipping through. More and more demons were arriving, and the situation had beco extrely critical.

"Heh heh... A bunch of human children who are barely weaned. So what if they co out?" one of the Scorpion Demons sneered with confidence. They knew the Human Race well enough to understand the situation in the Ancient Sanctuary. The ones who entered were young humans with great potential but weak strength, hardly a threat.

"That’s not the right way to put it! It’s been a thousand years since we’ve tasted human flesh. What could be more delicious than starting with the Human Race’s most prized prodigies for our first al back?" the other Scorpion Demon screeched. The two of them went back and forth, their rampant glee reaching an extre.

"In your dreams!" A human expert could not listen anymore and lashed out in a rage.

"Careful!" Elder Hao’s pupils contracted. He urgently tried to stop him but failed to hold him back.

The Scorpion Demon opposite them let out a cold laugh, its tail piercing through the void with unimaginable speed. In the blink of an eye, it impaled the human expert, skewering him on its tail as his blood dripped profusely.

Elder Hao wielded an ancient seal, striking out across the sky with all his might, the attack as imnse as a mountain. It shook the scorpion tail, but it was too late. The human expert was already dead. The Demon Race was cunning and deceitful, using words to provoke their opponents and expose a weakness for a fatal strike—a skill honed in the brutal law of the jungle.

The already few remaining human experts had now suffered another loss, making a bad situation even worse. Elder Hao’s spirits plumted. At this rate, even if the prodigies from the Holy Realm ca out, it would be nearly impossible to get them away safely! His heart filled with sorrow. Are we truly fated to die here today?

WHOOSH!

Seeing his resolve waver, the Scorpion Demon experts seized the opportunity. They worked in tandem, their two tails crossing as they struck. Demonic Qi tore through the heavens and earth, their killing intent soaring.

CLANG!

Just then, a dazzling golden light appeared in front of Elder Hao. The scorpion tails descended with a force that could shatter mountains and split the earth, yet they failed to budge the golden silhouette in the slightest. This sudden developnt stunned both the humans and demons present.

"Is that you... Wang Xiu?" Elder Hao recognized him, having been deeply impressed by him before.

The Wang Xiu before him now seed to have changed a great deal. He was taller, with a leaner, more powerful build. His entire body radiated with the light of runes and was shrouded in a vibrant aura, brimming with a powerful presence.

Wang Xiu did not speak, his eyes sweeping across the surroundings. There were many corpses here. So he recognized, like the Nascent Soul Elder from the Sanqing Immortal Sect who had registered their nas when the Ancient Sanctuary first opened. He now lay in a pool of blood, his body mangled. But most were unfamiliar faces, such as the Guards of Vermilion Bird City and the experts from the various Great Immortal Gates stationed in the city. Wang Xiu even spotted a blood-soaked Sanqing Immortal Sect robe, though he didn’t know who it belonged to. There were so many bodies that they were impossible to identify.

It was at this mont that the sheer brutality of war was branded into Wang Xiu’s mind for the first ti.

WHOOSH!

The next instant, Wang Xiu’s figure vanished, transforming into a beam of light that shot toward the two Scorpion Demons.

"Co back! Don’t go!" Elder Hao panicked. A chill ran down his spine.

Those two Scorpion Demons were imnsely strong. They were even stronger than a typical Great Ability of the Human Race’s Ergence Stage. No matter how powerful Wang Xiu had beco, he was still just a young prodigy. The Elder rembered that he was only at the Golden Core Stage when he first entered the Holy Academy. Even if he had experienced so Creation within the Holy Academy, its term had concluded so much earlier than expected. Could he really have undergone a complete transformation in that ti?

More and more figures erged from the passage, arriving on the ark. Soone helped Elder Hao to his feet.

"Don’t worry about , save him!" Elder Hao was in too much of a hurry to answer properly, trying to break free from the person supporting him to go and rescue Wang Xiu.

But with a shake of his arm, he found he couldn’t break free. The other person was seemingly using no strength at all, yet held him firmly in place.

Looking up, he saw a young man wielding a Divine Spear, his heroic figure resplendent. Elder Hao was stunned. He found that he couldn’t see through this young man’s Cultivation Level... it was in no way beneath his own. Which sect’s monstrous talent is this? A young powerhouse?
