Now reading: Chapter 39: Interception and Slaughter from Cultivation Begins with Caring for Sister-in-law, a Eastern novel by Orange cat hugs fish to sleep.

After the short man left, Brother Hu did not put the "Cyan Turtle" into the pile of fish goods behind the wooden shed’s carriage but had the beautiful woman beside him set it aside separately.

Chen Mo glanced at the "Cyan Turtle," then prepared to leave with Zhang River.

However, they were stopped by a young mber of the Qinghe Gang.

Zhang River quickly smiled and said, "Boss, we are not selling fish."

"You still have to weigh it before you leave," the mber said.

"There’s no need for that, right? By looking at this barrel’s content, there’s no way it weighs a hundred pounds," Zhang River said.

"It’s not up to you; according to the rules, it must be weighed," the mber said.

Chen Mo narrowed his eyes and had Zhang River give him the wooden barrel.

The barrel of fish, with the barrel and fish together, didn’t weigh fifty pounds.

Even if the Qinghe Gang wanted to falsely report, they couldn’t add more than fifty pounds.

However, they still weighed out more than sixty pounds.

"Boss, can we leave now?" Zhang River asked.

The mber nodded: "After you pay the tribute money, you can leave."

Upon hearing this, Zhang River was stunned: "Even if we’re not selling fish, we have to pay tribute money?"

"Do you have a problem with that?" the mber glared coldly at Zhang River.

Zhang River looked at Chen Mo.

Chen Mo took a step forward and smiled: "Boss, how much tribute money do we have to pay?"

"Six cents," the mber said.

"But we don’t have any money now," Zhang River replied.

"No money?" The mber glanced at the two, sneered coldly, and directly grabbed the largest fish from the barrel, a grass carp, and said, "That’s easy, trade it with fish."

After speaking, without even weighing, he left the fish in the barrel and took the grass carp away.

"We have..." Zhang River wanted to chase after him to honestly pay the tribute fee, as that grass carp was at least three or four pounds, worth more than six cents.

But Chen Mo stopped him.

"Brother Mo."

"Let’s go," Chen Mo said.

...

After leaving Dadong Lake, Zhang River couldn’t help but say: "Brother Mo, sorry about earlier, I shouldn’t have spoken out. Had I known, I would have just paid the tribute money honestly."

But Chen Mo asked, "Which path will they take when they return?"

Zhang River: "..."

"Brother Mo, who are you talking about?" Zhang River asked.

"Those Qinghe Gang people," Chen Mo said.

"They’re from the city, taking the west road to Shangguan Dao, then..." Saying this, Zhang River seed to realize sothing amiss and widened his eyes: "Brother Mo, are you planning to...?"

Chen Mo pulled out the Tang Blade from the black cloth, his gaze sharp like two arrows, and said gravely: "Let’s test if my blade is sharp!!"

Zhang River trembled all over.

...

Heavy snow covered everything, falling hard, making the world a blur, with strands of drizzle among the snowflakes.

In the distance, a team of horses and n slowly approached.

In the carriage, Brother Hu was holding the beautiful woman, plucking snow pears, while stepping on what he called the "Cyan Turtle." The beautiful woman snuggled against Brother Hu’s chest, her cheeks slightly red, and uttered soft, alluring sounds.

Brother Hu plucked lotus seeds, grinning: "I never expected such a precious thing like the Purple Sun Turtle to be in Dadong Lake. Once I consu it, my strength will surely soar."

Upon hearing this, the beautiful woman coquettishly said, "Didn’t you just say it was an ordinary Cyan Turtle?"

"What do you know? If I don’t say it’s a Cyan Turtle and let those fools spread the word out, once Master Xiong finds out, he would definitely make hand it over."

Brother Hu said: "Once my strength increases, that damn Pig Head Three won’t be able to suppress anymore."

"Then I congratulate you in advance," the beautiful woman laughed.

"Haha." Brother Hu laughed three tis, then said, "Co, clean up for ."

The beautiful woman lowered her head.

"Thud..."

Just when Brother Hu was enjoying himself, the carriage suddenly buckled, tilting to the left.

Brother Hu then let out a howl, kicked the beautiful woman away angrily, and said, "Are you blind?"

The beautiful woman, knocked to the ground, did not dare to complain, but trembled as she knelt there, apologizing: "Master, it wasn’t intentional, please forgive ..."

Outside, the young mber’s voice sounded: "Brother Hu, the wheel fell into a pit."

"Hurry up and lift it out," Brother Hu cursed, saw only a little abrasion, and said to the beautiful woman, "Next ti you..."

Before finishing the sentence, there was a loud "crack" from outside.

The face of the young mber lifting the wheel with an iron rod changed, as a pine tree as thick as a man’s waist fell from the nearby mountain, heavily crushing the cargo carriage behind them.

"Neigh..."

Horses and n toppled, the full carriage of fish spilled out, and branches and accumulated snow covered everything.

"What happened?" Brother Hu fastened his belt and stuck his head out the carriage window.

But in the next second, his face changed drastically.

He saw a dark shadow descending from the sky.

Brother Hu’s current status was earned through his own fighting, with rich combat experience, realizing the situation was off, he imdiately leapt from the window, rolled upon landing, and steadied himself.

"Boom..."

Turning to look, Brother Hu saw the carriage shattered into pieces, the concubine inside dead on the scene.

"Crash..."

The dark shadow landed heavily on the fra, wheels sinking three inches into the snow, splattering snow everywhere.

The figure was clad in black, quite tall, with a cold countenance, holding a "Straight Saber," with an impressive aura.

Brother Hu’s pupils contracted, quickly overwheld by waves of shock.

Solo, attacking with a kill move, an enemy, not a friend, and a formidable one at that.

"Who are you? I am Chen Hu, Sub-Branch Hall Master of Qinghe Gang, you are..."

Swish!

Before finishing, the blade flashed by.

A round human head rolled onto the snow, spraying a mist of blood.

"You’re not worthy of the surna Chen!"

After beheading Chen Hu, Chen Mo killed three more of his subordinates.

Slaying four, the blade showed no dullness.

"Great blade."

Sweeping his gaze over Chen Hu’s remaining five subordinates, Chen Mo wiped the blood off his face, eyes gleaming with excitent, feeling his blood boiling, then swiftly charged forward.

From the wheel pit, to the fallen tree, to Brother Hu’s death.

These events occurred too quickly, the five subordinates, caught in shock, hadn’t reacted, as Chen Mo reached their faces, their faces turned pale, attempting to flee, but it was too late.

With one swing of the blade, Chen Mo cut down three.

The other two were imdiately struck down by Chen Mo as well.

"Hero... spare , I have elders above and children below, hero spare ..."

The two pleaded frantically.

Chen Mo ignored them, glanced at Zhang River coming down the slope, grabbed the dagger from his waist, and tossed it to Zhang River: "These two, your turn."

Picking up the dagger from the ground, Zhang River tremblingly stepped forward, glanced at the corpses, swallowing hard.

"Afraid?" Chen Mo’s eyes chilled.

"No... Brother Mo, I’ll do it," Zhang River said tremblingly.

Though he’d killed once before, seeing Chen Mo so ruthlessly handle so many people still frightened him.
