After the brothers each got their desired flavors of ice cream, they sat in the backyard, enjoying themselves.

The ice cream was really delicious. Unfortunately, their dad said they couldn’t have too much at once. But he said they would have so every day from now on which was encouraging.

After they were done with the dessert, so went to do their howork while others decided to play first.

"Xin, let’s play a ga." Li Jingxuan said, Li Juanxin who was playing with Fluffy the fox.

"Okay!" Li Juanxin answered and set Fluffy down gently: "What ga are we playing?"

"How about hide and seek? You seek while I hide." Li Jingxuan suggested with a grin.

"And you promise to seek when I find you?"

Li Jingxuan: "Of course! Why wouldn’t I?"

Li Juanxin: "Just making sure. If you dare go back on your words, I’m going to tell eldest brother!"

Maybe it’s the way Li Yujian carries himself, or his aura, or the fact that he’s the oldest. All his siblings have a deed of respect for him. They fear him more than their father.

Li Jingxuan sighed: "Alright fine, No backing out." He took a step back, raising his hands in surrender.

Li Juanxin tilts his head speechlessly thinking to himself: So, you’d planned to back out!

Li Juanxin snorted and turned on his heel and began counting: "I will count to twenty. You can’t hide outside the gate. That’ll be cheating."

Li Jingxuan nodded, Juanxin then began counting seriously as Jingxuan started to find a perfect hiding spot: "One... two... three..."

While his brothers were playing and the others studying, Li Cheng quietly went to see his father. He found him in the study. The light stread through the window curtains, illuminating his perfect side profile.

"Dad?" Li Cheng called out hesitantly.

"Xiao Cheng? What is it?" Li Jain looked up from his work and asked.

"Dad, I know it’s not appropriate for to ask you this, but can you allow to enter the secret realm now?"

Li Jain’s brows furrow: "Why the rush? Didn’t you just go in yesterday?"

Li Cheng fidgeted, twisting the hem of his robe: "I know, it’s just that I promise a friend that I’ll see him today and he’s probably still waiting."

"So, Xiao Zhang was right about you and that Zhou kid. Also, you t people in the secret realm and didn’t tell about it?"

Li Cheng swallowed hard, caught off guard by his father’s question: "It’s not like that, Dad." He pauses, searching for the right words: "I assu you know before you warned us not to enter."

As soon as he finished speaking, he regretted it. As expected, Li Jain caught the loopholes in his words: "So you were aware of my warning and yet you ignored it?"

He hasn’t been in the secret realm for a long ti. So, when he warned them not to enter, he thought it was the demonic beasts that were making trouble. That’s why he went in to gain more combat experience. He thought his dad would’ve understood his thoughts.

But he is smart enough to know that understanding doesn’t excuse disobedience.

"I’m sorry." Li Cheng lowers his head and apologizes.

"I accept your apology, unfortunately you still can’t go.: Before Li Cheng could question, he continued: "Your uncle is coming over. Before we et him and figure out the reason for his visit. You all would have to stay at ho."

"Uncle Bai said he’ll only be staying the night, can I go tomorrow evening?"

"If he leaves, then yes. Otherwise, you will not leave my sight." Li Jain said firmly.

Li Cheng frowned, if the so-called relatives didn’t plan on spending the night, his father wouldn’t have refused him going in. Li Cheng couldn’t help feeling a bit resentful.

"What does he even want?" Li Cheng asked between grit teeth.

Li Jain shrugged: "Sothing urgent, I presu. He wouldn’t have co otherwise." Li Jain thought for a mont and added: "Why don’t you pass the ssage to your friend that you wouldn’t be able to see him today?"

"But that’s..." Li Cheng hesitated; there’s no other way of passing ssages to soone in the secret realm except shouting or talking over the formation. Even with that, it ans everyone in the secret realm would be able to hear it.

Even though Li Cheng appears cold, he can be shy sotis. Li Jain didn’t expect this; he couldn’t help but enjoy this rare sight.

"Fine, I understand." Li Cheng finally relented.

He made his way to the storage room. Li Jain couldn’t help but wonder: What is it about this Zhou kid; that got the reserve Xiao Cheng to act like this?

The Li family had a late dinner today, because they were waiting for their guest. Luckily before the dish could be served the guest arrived. A tall and unfamiliar figure stepped in from the backyard. His robe was elegant but his appearance in general looks out of place. Sothing about just wasn’t sitting right with them.

He looks... drunk?

As soon as he entered, his eyes narrowed as it scanned the children. He saw Li Jain coming down the stairs and his eyes widened in surprise: "Jain, is that you?"

Li Jain pauses in his steps: "And you are?"

"Li Zhen, your beloved cousin!" Li Zhen swayed slightly, as he spoke with a grin on his face.

"What happened to you?"

"Just had a little sip, cousin! No need to worry," Li Zhen replied, his voice slurring around the edges.

"You’re late. We were expecting you much earlier."

Li Zhen shrugged, leaning heavily against the doorfra as if it were the only thing keeping him upright. "Ah, well, you know how it is. Important matters can be... distracting."

Li Cheng stood frozen in the doorway, his earlier resentnt intensified when he saw that the person who they were waiting for turns out to be a drunker!

Li Zhen staggered forward, laughing carelessly: "But I’m here now, aren’t I? Let’s not dwell on the past!" He waved a hand dismissively, nearly knocking over a vase in the process.

Li Yuhan dash forward, catching the vase just in ti. This vase was given to them by a cultivation family who intended to curry favor with them. Letting break like this would be disrespectful to the family.

"So, why are you here cousin?" Li Jain felt like the original owner and this guy did have a close relationship, so even though he wasn’t comfortable with this person, he still tries to get along.

"Ah, details!" Li Zhen interrupted: "Always the details, with you guys! Life is too short!"

Li Cheng couldn’t shake the feeling of unease brewing in the pit of his stomach. He wanted nothing more than to kick this guy out of their house. It was the first ti he had seen this uncle, which wasn’t strange, since his dad used to hang out with lots of friends and they weren’t allowed near them. But the impression this person gave was off.

"Everyone, have your seat for dinner." Li Jain said

"Dinner? Now that’s what I called a welco." Li Zhan sat randomly at the table: "Looks like I made it right in ti.:

"We were waiting for you. It’s already past dinner ti." Li Jingsheng said with a frown.

Although they know it was disrespectful, they all shifted to the other side of the table. This guy slls really bad!

"I will get you a hangover soup." Li Jain forces a smile as he gestures for Li Cheng to help. Knowing his son, he could tell that Li Cheng must be very upset at the mont. If he’d known that’s how this person was, he wouldn’t have made the children wait for him.

Li Zhen threw his head back and laughed loudly: "Sure, that’ll be great. I also feel wasted." He paused and added: "Where’s your eldest son? The one who always looks at with dead eyes."

Li Jain didn’t expect this person to know Li Yujian even though the other children didn’t know him. But that doesn’t excuse him from calling his son dead eyes. He suppressed a groan, silently cursing his cousin’s blatant rudeness.

Li Jain: "Xiao Jian is in the room, he’ll be out in a mont."

"Sorry about that, Xiao Cheng." Li Jain said after they went to the kitchen: "I’ll make it up to you later."

Li Cheng’s eyes lit up: "Does that an I’m allowed to enter the secret realm even if he doesn’t leave tomorrow?"

"Yes,"

Li Jain responded and told him to watch over the food while he went to get Li Yujian out of bed. Li Yujian cultivation has improved so much over these few days, while he absorbs the poison. Right now, he was at the third level of Spiritual Sea which was beyond impressive for his age. Even so people in their thirties were still struggling at the Physical Body Stage.

Li Yujian also heard the commotion outside and knew that they had a guest. But he wasn’t sure who it was.

As soon as Li Jain entered the room, he gave Li Yujian a pill. After consuming the pill, Li Yujian felt strength returning to his weak legs.

"Thanks Dad!" Li Yujian felt the urge to shell tears of joy. How many weeks has it been? Now he can finally get out of bed. It doesn’t matter who the guest is this ti. They are his lucky star.

"You are welco." Li Jain smiled.
