Now reading: Chapter 387 - 222. Lei Jun: I gave him an offer he couldn’t from Cultivation: Fortune by Lots, a Eastern novel by August Eagle.

Shangguan Yunbo grunted softly, reversing the grip on his Expelling Invaders Halberd, and his figure drifted back a short distance.

Streaks of filthy blood were sared on the dark gleam of the black Long Spear, separated temporarily by the Golden Glow and not truly settling on the Long Spear, but the bloodstains did not vanish.

"Master Wei, I am ashad." Amidst the thunderous clash of Sword Qi, Yang Yuqi also erged with his sword in hand.

He had not managed to keep Shangguan Yunbo and the Expelling Invaders Halberd detained in the Kind Jade Mountain region.

Yet this Crown Prince of Sheng Kang had also not simply thrown in the towel and fled directly but had co to Sleeping Dragon Lake as well.

"Crown Prince, have no worries."

As Wei Ancheng spoke, his blade unleashed a flurry of attacks.

Shangguan Yunbo’s face was as somber as water; without the slightest hesitation, he engaged in combat at the first opportunity.

Without the need for communication, Samsara Abyss Sage Master Feng Gui automatically took on Yang Yuqi as his opponent on behalf of Shangguan Yunbo, with strands of black mist clinging to him.

Yang Yuqi’s Sword Qi surged violently, thunder roaring down as he promptly confronted it.

Although both sides had gained a person, the situation underwent a noticeable shift.

Sang Lu and Feng Gui, having co forth from their reclusiveness, had reservations; sacred objects of their sects or so concealed thods were not easily deployed, lest their sect’s Sacred Lands be left defenseless.

However, Shangguan Yunbo had the Martial God Weapon, Expelling Invaders Halberd, by his side.

To be precise, although the Divine Weapon was sharp, it was still separate from Shangguan Yunbo, not truly one with him. His own Cultivation was inferior to that of Wei Ancheng of the Ninth Heavenly Layer. In a confrontation, there was no major issue in the short term, but over a long duration, Wei Ancheng might find weak points to exploit.

But now at least there was soone who could frontally withstand the main pressure brought by Wei Ancheng.

Feng Gui took on Yang Yuqi for Shangguan Yunbo.

Sang Lu then imdiately began a strong counterattack.

Under such circumstances, despite Lian Ran’s brutal thods, he could not withstand the onslaught of Gepo Mountain’s top expert.

Wei Ancheng could cover for Lian Ran, but in doing so, Shangguan Yunbo found an opportunity to catch his breath, and his assault beca fiercely intense again.

The battle was fierce, with Wei Ancheng, Shangguan Yunbo, Feng Gui, Sang Lu, Yang Yuqi, Li Tianqing, Yuan Shanji, Xiong Gang, Lian Ran, and Xu Duan – a total of ten experts whose realms were above the Seventh Heavenly Layer – fighting with True Fire, turning the vast expanse of mountains and wilderness around Sleeping Dragon Lake into a desolate wasteland.

But at that mont, the battlefield reached a stalemate.

"Whichever side it may be, it requires a decisive move to break the deadlock," a voice suddenly spoke from behind Lei Jun.

Lei Jun smiled peacefully, turning to greet the purple-robed youth who had approached, "Master."

It was none other than Yuan Mobai, who had previously lost contact.

He had also co to the vicinity of Sleeping Dragon Lake.

After Lei Jun had hurried to this location, teacher and disciple had finally made contact again and were now eting once more.

"Master, is your friend intending to be the one to break the impasse?" Lei Jun inquired.

Yuan Mobai smiled and shook his head. "He has no such intentions, preferring to watch the changes from the sidelines, acting later to gain control, even if it ans missing so opportunities, rather than entering the mix before the situation is clear."

Lei Jun said, "Then he is about to have his chance."

Upon hearing this, Yuan Mobai turned to look at his disciple.

In the midst of the battle, Yang Yuqi also glanced at Wei Ancheng, noticing that the man remained composed.

"Crown Prince, fret not. I have made other preparations," said Wei Ancheng calmly.

As if to annotate his statent, suddenly the sound of Buddhist seals and chants began to resonate.

In the world around them, White Lotuses appeared out of thin air.

Shangguan Yunbo, Feng Gui, Sang Lu, Li Tianqing, and the distant Xu Duan all frowned simultaneously at the sight.

All of them rembered a piece of information they had received earlier.

The White Lotus Sect’s Future Maitreya had appeared upstream of the Zhao River, and Elder Tian Linlong of Yintuo Mountain had gone to investigate; but after the Future Maitreya departed, his whereabouts beca a mystery.

This White Lotus Sect’s Future Sect Master suddenly showing up in the Southern Wilderness must have a reason. But could it be that he was in contact with Wei Ancheng?

"I am ashad; today has been troubleso for the Future Maitreya," Wei Ancheng said with a smile. "The items are ready and will be handed over to the Future Maitreya later to take back to the Central Plains as a greeting from to the current Maitreya."

White Lotuses blood in profusion like the sea, and in the center stood a young monk with a face like jade, carrying a dignified aura, his body surrounded by pure and serene Buddhist light, illuminating all around him.

"It is I who should feel ashad," the young monk said with his palms together, bowing apologetically to Wei Ancheng. "I am unable to fulfill the agreent with Master Wei. I hope Master Wei will forgive ."

As he spoke, the blooming White Lotuses spread everywhere, their flowers instantly immobilizing the swirling Blood River mist around Elder Lian Ran of the Blood River Sect, catching him off guard.

In her surprise, Sang Lu also did not understand the young monk’s true intentions and thus did not rashly launch an attack, missing the opportunity to pursue Lian Ran.

However, the young monk did not stop moving; his palms, held together, struck forward once again. "Buddha spoke of the peacock, possessing great might, severing all fears and troubles, bringing joy and peace."

The White Lotus Sect was a congregation ford by the gathering of successors after the division of the Buddhist Sect’s three Sacred Lands—those of Precept Holders, Zen Martial Arts, and Vow Making—and thereby simultaneously inherited the Taoist Inheritance of these three major Buddhist branches.

However, its disciples usually chose to cultivate only one of these.

But over many years of developnt, the Buddhist Law of the White Lotus Sect had developed significant differences compared to those of the Orthodox Buddhist Sacred Lands.

The Great Might Heavenly Dragon Scripture, the supre Buddhist Law of the Tianlong Temple—Sacred Land of the Vow Lineage—allows one to cultivate a golden Mighty Celestial Dragon for Demon Suppression.

But the great Divine Skill the young monk displayed at this mont was the White Lotus Sect’s Vow Making great Divine Skill, manifesting as the evolution of a white peacock.

The enormous peacock spread its wings and dove forward, striking another Blood River Sect Elder, Xiong Gang.

Mount Shu’s Elder Xu Duan, although also unclear about the young monk’s specific intentions, did not hesitate at this mont, unleashing twelve Vermilion Fla Flying Forks that left Xiong Gang struggling to defend himself.

The smile on Wei Ancheng’s face disappeared. "Future Maitreya, what are you doing?"

The young monk sighed, "For the Buddha’s White Lotus World."

Although he wore an expression of sha, the White Light Peacock spread its wings once more, plunging towards Yuan Shanji.

The previously stalemated battle suddenly shifted dramatically!

In the distance, Yuan Mobai turned his head towards his disciple. "Your handiwork?"

Lei Jun smiled, producing an item.

Yuan Mobai recognized it as a Buddhist Magic Artifact that Lei Jun had obtained during his earlier assignnt at Xianliu Mountain, resembling a candleholder.

The incomplete Purifying Pill recipe had originated from that candleholder.

Lei Jun and his master had been suspicious back then; the White Lotus Sect and Xuantian Temple, both orthodox and heterodox Buddhist Sects, had once been active around Xianliu Mountain and Great Qing Peak, most likely searching for sothing.

At that ti, Yuan Mobai had also helped Lei Jun examine the candleholder, but to no avail.

Eventually, they had put the matter aside.

"I have recently co across another stroke of fate, and after re-examining the candleholder, I made so new discoveries." Lei Jun was naturally referring to the Dark Side of the Celestial Book.

As for how he had contacted that Future Maitreya...

In the starry space within the Celestial Book, the Taibai tal Scepter and the Age Star Muyao twinkled together brightly.

Lei Jun said, "I gave him a condition he could not refuse."
