After the Naless Gu Technique reached Great Success, much like the One Qi Technique, it had reached the True Intent Realm of when the Secret Technique was first created and could not be improved any further.

Fang Cheng sat motionless in ditation within the Quiet Chamber, absorbing the vast flood of experience and profound truths from the three Divine Secret Skills.

...

Ti flew, and the nights of spring always seed too short.

Fang Cheng had been holed up at ho cultivating, and in the blink of an eye, more than a month had passed.

He spent his days wrapped up with Ye Yan, indulging in the pleasures of the bedchamber.

In his past life, he had read a great deal of Song poetry, and two particular poems seed to fit his recent experiences perfectly:

One was "The Ugly Slave":

Evening brings a gust of wind and rain, washing away the sumr heat. The music ceases, and she faces the mirror, applying a light touch of makeup.

Through thin crimson silk, her skin gleams like ice—a fragrant, creamy white. With a soft laugh, she tells her love, "Tonight, the bed is cool and waiting."

It describes a young wife in ancient tis seducing her husband on a sumr night, a scene of infinite charm and dazzling allure.

The other was "Waves Scouring the Sands":

A slender waist, bound softly, cannot bear the lancholy of spring. Beneath the sparse plum blossoms’ shadow, her evening makeup is fresh. Graceful and delicate, what is she like? A wisp of a passing cloud.

A skillful song moves her red lips, every word a charming pout. The peach blossom... opens its ford. Gazing at the clear night moon over the jade terrace, she watches the returning carriage.

Fortunately, having cultivated the Celestial Fire Body Forging Technique, Fang Cheng’s physical body was as robust as a ferocious beast’s. He was like a fish in water, enjoying himself tirelessly.

「On this day.」

He was in the Quiet Chamber cultivating the Cyan Yuan Demon Tree Skill when he saw Ye Yan quietly peek in. She held a letter in her hand, a faint trace of anger on her pale cheeks.

Fang Cheng slowly withdrew his power, a curious look on his face. He smiled and asked, "Yan’Er, who made you angry?"

Ye Yan pouted, flicked the letter from her hand, and sent it fluttering into Fang Cheng’s lap. "See for yourself," she said peevishly.

Fang Cheng picked up the letter, opened it, and skimd its contents, a hint of embarrassnt crossing his face.

The handwriting on the letter was delicate and languid, its charm bewitching, exuding an intimate and romantic boudoir air.

The signature read—Wen Qianqian.

The gist of the letter was that soone, seeing that Wen Zhiyan had fallen, had gotten ideas. They coveted the Wen Family’s shop and wealth, hoping to claim both the fortune and the woman for themselves.

This person was a young master from a family in the Abyssal Marsh nad Li Yan Nian. He was using all sorts of tactics to pressure Wen Qianqian. Left with no choice, Wen Qianqian had brought up Fang Cheng’s na, telling the man that she was already promised to Fang Cheng as a concubine.

But she worried that he still wouldn’t give up, so she was asking Fang Cheng for help.

At the end, Wen Qianqian had written four words, "Pray, forget not," in a tone that was both pleading and hesitant.

"My dear husband, what is your relationship with her?"

Ye Yan’s beautiful eyes stared at Fang Cheng as she asked, her words slow and deliberate.

The four words "Pray, forget not" were indeed suggestive... Soone who didn’t know the situation might think the two had already consummated their relationship.

In reality, she was asking Fang Cheng not to forget their original agreent for him to be an Honored Guest Elder.

He didn’t know how Wen Qianqian had sent the letter, or whether it was intentional, but sohow it had been intercepted by Ye Yan.

"Yan’Er, let explain..."

Fang Cheng reached out, wrapped an arm around Ye Yan’s slender waist, and pulled her into his embrace. After a great deal of coaxing, her anger finally turned to delight.

What followed was another scene of romantic spring passion in the Quiet Chamber.

「After a long while.」

The clouds dispersed and the rain ceased.

Draped in a light gauze, Ye Yan lay languidly on Fang Cheng’s chest. She traced circles on his firm, broad chest with a slender, pale finger and humd softly,

"I was wrong earlier. I misunderstood you. You only agreed to be the Honored Guest Elder for her family’s shop because you felt sorry for her, didn’t you..."

Her words were filled with apology.

Just now, Fang Cheng had explained the whole story, and the resentnt in Ye Yan’s heart had vanished completely.

Fang Cheng gently stroked the beautiful curve of Ye Yan’s back and sighed. "She is indeed a pitiable person."

Ye Yan shot Fang Cheng a look and huffed. "I had soone look into her background. She was engaged five years ago, but before they could marry, her fiancé died unexpectedly."

"She has indeed remained chaste, otherwise that Li Yan Nian wouldn’t have taken an interest in her."

The Li Family, like the Zhou Family, was an ordinary Cultivation Family in the Abyssal Marsh, with only two or three Life Talisman Realm Cultivators.

These kinds of families often relied on a few of the hundred cultivation arts—such as Spiritual Cuisine, Spirit Plant cultivation, mining, or brewing—to beco vassals to sects and major family clans.

It was said that the Li Family was attached to none other than the Ye Family of Xiaocang Island.

Fang Cheng looked at Ye Yan and asked with a smile, "Yan’Er, what do you think I should do about this?"

Ye Yan narrowed her eyes in thought for a mont, then said, "You can take her as a concubine, but you are not to bring her back to Xiaocang Island."

Fang Cheng raised a sharp eyebrow, sowhat surprised.

He had expected Ye Yan to be jealous and, at most, suggest helping Wen Qianqian in so other way. He never thought she would be so generous.

Ye Yan chuckled, a cunning glint in her eyes. "Since she dared to use my husband’s na to her advantage, I certainly can’t let her get away with it for free. Her Marketplace Shop and Array inheritance can serve as her dowry."

Fang Cheng sighed. "Yan’Er, if you start this, aren’t you afraid I’ll find a few more sisters for you?"

Ye Yan lifted her exquisite, beautiful face and chuckled. "For now, of course, I have to keep you in line so you can focus on your cultivation. But if you can reach the Life Soul Realm, I won’t be able to control you even if you take dozens of concubines."

She had grown up in a Cultivation Family and deeply understood the principles of the weak being prey for the strong and the strong being revered.

’All the rules in this world are made for the weak,’ she thought.

With Fang Cheng’s current talent, breaking through to the Life Talisman Realm was only a matter of ti. In the future, he might even have a chance of reaching the Life Soul Realm.

Perhaps every woman wished for her husband to beco great, but a clever woman also knew how to ease her husband’s burdens.

Fang Cheng knew it was best not to discuss the matter further. He also knew it would be unwise to let Wen Qianqian and Ye Yan et anyti soon.

He changed the subject and started chatting with Ye Yan about other things.

「After a while.」

Suddenly, there was a soft knock at the door.

Then, they heard Die’Er’s voice. "Young Master, Young Miss, Young Master Li Yan Nian of the Huaye Island Li Family requests an audience."

Fang Cheng and Ye Yan exchanged a glance. Ye Yan said coolly, "I know. Have him wait outside."

The two of them got up to get dressed. Ye Yan said, "Li Yan Nian must be here to verify the story. You get rid of him. I can’t be bothered to see him."

The great families often had dealings with one another, and the relationship between the Li and Ye Families was particularly good. This Li Yan Nian must know Ye Yan.

Besides, the fact that he was allowed onto the Ye Family’s Xiaocang Island spoke volus.

Fang Cheng walked out of the Jade Tower and saw a handso young man in a green robe standing by the cliff’s edge outside.

His expression was cold, and he exuded a sharp aura, looking like soone who was not easy to get along with.

Judging by his cultivation, he had already reached the eighth layer of Sensing.

When Li Yan Nian saw Fang Cheng erge, he also sized him up with curiosity.

He saw that the legendary live-in son-in-law of the Ye Family was dressed in a black Daoist Robe with cloud patterns. He was tall and straight, with broad shoulders and a thick back. His face was chiseled, with sharp eyebrows and bright eyes. His expression was composed, and he had an outstanding presence.

Moreover, he could feel a faint, pure, and piercing Sword Intent radiating from the man, which made him instinctively wary.

Although the man’s cultivation was only at the Sixth Layer of Sensing, his vitality was abundant, as if a ferocious beast were lying dormant within him. It was obvious at a glance that he practiced a Body Refining Technique.

Li Yan Nian nodded to himself and cupped his hands. "Junior Brother Fang, I’ve long heard of your great na."

He had entered the outer sect one year before Fang Cheng, and the stories of Fang Cheng’s deeds during the outer sect trials had spread throughout the Dragon Spine Archipelago, so he had naturally heard of them.

"Senior Brother Li, what brings you here?"

Fang Cheng asked leisurely.
