A whole week has passed since Yuan was transported to the Primal Expanse. During this ti, Xi ili remained at the Endless Beast Den, anxiously waiting for Yuan to return.
Kelan went to speak with Senior Bai and explained the situation to him. Unsurprisingly, Senior Bai was extrely upset to hear this news. "Forgive , Senior Bai. I have failed my mission." Kelan lowered his head and apologized.
Senior Bai didn't respond for a long ti before sighing, "You're not at fault. I doubt I would be able to prevent it even if I were right beside him. Also, nobody could've expected a rift to appear. Follow ."
"Are we going to…?" Kelan swallowed nervously and asked.
Senior Bai nodded, confirming his suspicions, "Yes, we're going to speak with the Celestial Overlord."
Soti later, Senior Bai and Kelan stood before Xu Jiaqi, who was sitting behind her desk that was stacked with mountains of papers.
"Didn't you just leave?" Xu Jiaqi spoke without even looking at them.
Senior Bai responded, "Sorry, but this is urgent."
"I've been hearing that word a lot lately. What is it this ti?"
Senior Bai turned to look at Kelan, his gaze gesturing to Kelan to do the speaking for obvious reasons.
Kelan took a deep breath before falling to his knees and kowtowing.
"Due to my incompetence, Yuan, who I had been tasked to watch over, was swallowed by a rift!" he spoke in a shouting voice.
However, Xu Jiaqi rely raised an eyebrow and muttered, "A rift? What rift?"
"The ones that rarely appear when an Infinite Beast Spawn is destroyed…" Kelan clarified.
"What?! How did that happen?!" Xu Jiaqi exclaid.
"This is what happened…" Kelan proceeded to recall everything that led to Yuan being swallowed by the rift.
Xu Jiaqi wore a deep frown on her face throughout the entire thing.
"And that's how Yuan entered the rift…"
Once Kelan was done, a profound silence filled the room.
After a long mont of silence, Xu Jiaqi stood up and began walking to the exit.
"Where are you going?" Senior Bai inquired.
"I'm going to speak with an expert. Then, I am going to head down to the Fourth Heaven," she said.
"Don't take this the wrong way, but even if we go down there, what can we do? Nobody has ever returned from the other side." Senior Bai shook his head.
"..." Xu Jiaqi halted her movent after hearing his words.
A mont later, she walked out of the room without responding.
Senior Bai looked at Kelan, who appeared to be on the verge of tears from fear, and said, "Let's go."
"Where…?" he asked.
"The Fourth Heaven."
While Xu Jiaqi disappeared sowhere, Senior Bai and Kelan made their way to the Fourth Heaven. However, due to Senior Bai's identity and position within the Celestial Overlords, more work and effort were required before he could be permitted to enter the Fourth Heaven.
Upon arriving at the Endless Beast Den, Senior Bai was surprised to see many experts there.
"The Three Grand Sects, huh? How are they involved?" Senior Bai asked Kelan.
Kelan didn't go into detail and only recalled the important parts when he explained the situation, so Senior Bai wasn't aware the Three Grand Sects were involved.
"Actually, they were the ones who were fighting with Yuan," he explained.
"Huh? The Three Grand Sects? Why?"
Kelan explained how Yuan thought it was silly to monetize hunting wild magical beasts, which started the whole fight.
Senior Bai rubbed his eyes in a stressed manner and sighed, "What a headache."
They descended shortly after.
A few days before Senior Bai and Kelan arrived at the Endless Beast Den, the Sect Leaders of the Three Grand Sects gathered there after being inford of the situation.
"E-excuse …" The Sect Leader of the Grand Mystic Sect approached Xi ili, who hadn't moved from her spot since Kelan left.
"..."
Xi ili didn't respond.
Despite being ignored, the Sect Leader wasn't offended, or more precisely, didn't dare to be offended.
He continued, "I am Du Daomi, the Sect Leader of the Grand Mystic Sect. I would like to apologize for what happened to your friend—"
"Save your breath." Xi ili suddenly interrupted. "We both know you don't care."
The Sect Leader imdiately beca speechless. After a mont of silence, he returned to the other two Sect Leaders.
"It's pointless. We might actually make things worse if we try to appease her," said Du Daomi.
"So what do we do? Wait for the people from Celestial Overlord to show up and kill us?" The Sect Leader of the Grand Harmony Sect said.
"Don't say that… the Celestial Overlord is a righteous faction. They wouldn't kill us over sothing like this… right?" The Sect Leader of the Grand Defiance Sect said.
In addition to the Sect Leaders of the Three Grand Sects, those directly involved with the incident, such as the Grand Elders and Elder Hao, were also present.
"Fuck… this is all your fault, Elder Hao. Why did you have to bother that young man?" Grand Elder Du cursed, blaming him for everything.
"Don't push your bla on , Grand Elder! I was only doing my job! You were the one who initiated the fight!" Elder Hao exclaid.
"So what?! I wasn't the one who destroyed the Endless Beast Den!" Grand Elder Du turned to look at Grand Elder Tang and Grand Elder Lu, whose complexions were as pale as sheets.
"I-I only wanted to spectate! Grand Elder Tang was the one who pressured into attacking him!" Grand Elder Lu pointed her fingers at him.
"Shut up! I was only avenging Grand Elder Du and trying to save face for the Three Grand Sects! If you weren't so weak, Grand Elder Du, we wouldn't be here right now!" Grand Elder Tang redirected the bla to Grand Elder Du again, going in circles.
They continued to bla each other for the next several days until Senior Bai and Kelan appeared before them.
