"A place where Primals and Predators live together? We call those 'territories' here. For example, we're currently in the Sword Head Serpent's territory." Yingzi said.
Yuan surveyed their surroundings with a raised eyebrow and further clarified, "There's been a slight misunderstanding. Cities also have buildings for dwelling and marketplaces where you can buy or sell things."
"There's no place like that in the Primal Expanse. While the idea of buying and selling exists, it's rarely practiced. Most Predators engage in trade, but for everyone else, acquisition typically involves taking directly from others." Yingzi said.
In the Primal Expanse, the saying 'the strong prey on the weak' was not just a principle but a stark reality. Here, if soone desired sothing, they simply took it by force. And since trading was the norm, there was no need for currencies in this world.
Yuan pondered for a mont before asking, "Then, do you know a way to leave this place?"
"I don't understand."
"I am trying to return to my own world," he clarified.
"I am not sure that's even possible." Yingzi shook her head.
"There has to be a way. In my world, we have these specific areas where Magical Beasts—Primals spawn endlessly, and I believe they ca from this world. The fact that I managed to travel to this world proves that our worlds are connected in so way."
"Even if you say that, I have no clue. However, I may know soone who does." "Can you take to them?"
"In exchange for sothing."
"What do you want?"
"Sothing from your world."
"Do you have anything specific in mind?" Yuan asked.
"No, not really."
Yuan pondered for a mont before retrieving several things from his spatial ring.
The first item was a spirit stone. He didn't know if they existed in the Primal Expanse and wanted to find out. He also took out several Divine-grade treasures and so random pills. Lastly, he took out so food—mostly at skewers that he had saved up for occasions.
"Is there anything you want?" Yingzi inspected all of the items with great interest. Her eyes were essentially sparkling with excitent.
"What is this?" Yingzi pointed to the spirit stone and asked.
"It's a spirit stone. We, humans, use it to cultivate by absorbing the spiritual energy contained inside. We also use it as a currency to buy things."
"What about these things? They sll very nice." Yingzi pointed to the at skewers next.
"They're at skewers. This one is made from beef. This one is from chicken. This one is made from lamb."
Yingzi's gaze danced back and forth between the spirit stone and at skewers without giving the treasures even a single glance. After a mont of pondering, she pointed to the at skewers and said, "I want these."
Yuan nodded and handed her twelve sticks, four of each flavor.
Yingzi accepted the skewers with a smile on her face. This was Yuan's first ti seeing any real emotion on her face.
However, the unique and rich aroma of the skewers quickly perated the area, alerting the Primals nearby.
Since skewers were unknown in the Primal Expanse, their enticing aroma was as novel and irresistible as the scent of humans, sending the Primals into a frenzy.
When Yuan noticed this, he imdiately said to Yingzi, "Um… can you quickly finish eating before the others arrive?"
However, Yingzi shook her head and said, "No, I will slowly savor this food at my own pace. If anyone dares to steal from , I will kill them." Yingzi's presence was still nonexistent, so the nearby Primals could only sll Yuan and the skewers.
Dragons were at the top of the food chain in the Primal Expanse, so Primals instinctively avoided them. Thus, no one dared to approach Yuan despite his relatively low cultivation level. However, this caution was abandoned once they caught the enticing scent of the at skewers.
Yuan wanted to run away, but he also wanted to see Yingzi's prowess. In the end, he decided to stay with her.
A few monts later, the first Primal to appear before them resembled a colossal elephant as large as a mountain, its brown skin adorned with red spots across its body.
Just its size alone was nacing enough, but its strength was also at the Divine Sovereign level.
Yet, when its gaze landed on Yingzi, who wasn't even looking at it, the massive creature's body trembled, and a deep sense of fear flickered in its eyes.
After a loud trumpet-like roar, the elephant turned around and stomped away faster than it approached them.
"What the…?" Yuan was surprised by the Primal's reaction.
The elephant-like Primal's reaction to Yingzi was puzzling, as she wasn't exuding any presence or aura of danger that could explain why such a formidable creature would flee from her. This hinted at unseen powers within Yingzi that Yuan did not yet comprehend.
The next several Primals that appeared reacted similarly to the first. Each ti their gaze landed on Yingzi, they displayed an intense reaction of fear, quickly turning and fleeing as if their lives depended on it. As for Yingzi, she didn't even bother looking at the Primals that showed up and continued to enjoy the skewers in her grasp at her own place.
Many minutes later, when Yingzi reached her last skewer, Yuan suddenly sensed an unfathomable presence appear, and it was quickly approaching them.
'What a powerful presence! This Primal must be at a level that rivals an Immortal!' Yuan cried inwardly.
When he turned to investigate the presence, he saw a massive black snake, even larger than the elephant, with a horn-shaped like a sword protruding from its head.
"Is that the Sword Head Serpent?" Yuan asked Yingzi.
"Looks like it," she calmly confird.
"Will you be fine against it?"
"..."
Yingzi didn't respond, as she was busy chewing the at in her mouth.
The Sword Head Serpent arrived shortly later. However, unlike the other Primals, it did not imdiately run away after seeing Yingzi. Although it still showed fear in its gaze, it refused to run away for so reason.
