"Now that you're my successor and apprentice, I'll have you call Master," said ng Xuan with a slight smile on her face.
Yuan nodded and said, "Master, before we start training, I would like to check out the other Breakthrough Towers."
"Why? Is the Cultivation Tower and Martial Tower not enough for you?" ng Xuan asked with a slight frown on her face.
"You're right. I am not satisfied with just these options," Yuan admitted. "As a cultivator, I want to ensure my future is as bright as possible, so I want to visit the other towers and see what I can learn from them as well."
It was an excuse ng Xuan couldn't argue against. She understood his perspective—after all, striving for a better future was sothing most people, including herself, aspired to achieve. Blaming Yuan for such a mindset would have been unreasonable.
"Fine, but try not to stay there for too long," she said a mont later.
Yuan nodded with a smile, "Of course. Thank you for being understanding, Master."
However, Yuan didn't imdiately leave the Cultivation Tower. He decided to explore other floors first to see if he could find anything suspicious about the tower. Unfortunately, even after searching through every floor he was permitted to visit as the Tower Master's successor, he couldn't find anything that could put the Cultivation Tower in a bad light.
'This trial might be harder than it appears…' Yuan just ca to this realization.
Moreover, he still needed to visit the Alchemy Tower and Array Tower. While his experience in arrays and formations has improved significantly due to Yu Ning's occasional teachings, he wasn't sure it would be enough to satisfy the Array Tower's requirents.
As for the Alchemy Tower, besides learning the basics, he'd barely touched alchemy, so there was a good chance he wouldn't qualify to join them.
'I guess I'll figure it out when I get there.'
With that in mind, Yuan left the Cultivation Tower to visit the other towers.
The first thing Yuan noticed after exiting the Cultivation Tower was Apprentice Huan, who was standing outside.
Although it'd already been longer than a month—longer than the ti limit Senior Liao had given him, Apprentice Huan hadn't given up on trying to bring Yuan back to the tal Tower.
"What will it take for you to return to the tal Tower with ?" Apprentice Huan asked as he followed Yuan to the teleportation formation.
"I already told you. If you want to return to the tal Tower, you better get Liao Tian to invite personally."
"T-that's…"
"What? You still think I am not worth his ti? Not only have I acquired Lord Zi's approval, but I've even managed to beco the Cultivation Tower's successor," Yuan said.
"What?! You beca the Cultivation Tower's successor?!" Apprentice Huan exclaid loudly, his face filled with shock.
Yuan showed Apprentice Huan the badge ng Xuan gave him before he left.
"If you don't believe , you can ask ng Xuan yourself."
Apprentice Huan sighed, "Who am I to speak to the Tower Master? Senior Liao is the tal Tower's Tower Master, too."
"I have said what I need to. It's up to you whether you listen to or not. I visited the tal Tower first, but you drove away, so this is a grave you dug yourself."
Yuan stepped onto the teleportation formation and said, "Bring to the Array Tower."
Once Yuan disappeared, Apprentice Huan remained standing outside the teleportation formation with a pondering look on his face.
Soti later, he stepped onto the formation and said, "The tal Tower."
Upon arriving at the tal Tower, Apprentice Huan made his way to the highest floor of the tower.
"What are you doing here, Apprentice Huan?" soone asked, standing outside Liao Tian's doors. His gaze was sharp, and his tone carried curiosity and suspicion as he inquired about Apprentice Huan's reason for being there.
"I have an urgent matter with Senior Liao," he said.
"You're just a re Apprentice. What business could you possibly have with the Tower Master that's more important than mine?" sneered the man, who was several ranks above Apprentice Huan.
The door suddenly opened, and Liao Tian walked out, carrying a dignified aura around him.
"Tower Master—"
Just as the man opened his mouth to greet, Liao Tian interrupted, his gaze focused on Apprentice Huan.
"I was going to forgive your tardiness since you managed to bring that individual back," Liao Tian said, his voice cold and unyielding. "But what is going on here, Apprentice Huan? Why are you alone?"
As he spoke, killing intent began to emanate from his body, causing the air around him to grow heavy with pressure.
Not just Apprentice Huan, but the other guy there trembled in fear.
"I thought I said not to return unless you have that individual with you. Are my words aningless to you?"
"That's not it!" Apprentice Huan exclaid, his voice shaky as his legs trembled uncontrollably. "I found him and tried to convince him to return, but he wouldn't listen! He even dared to say that he'll only co back to the tal Tower if you, Senior Liao, personally invite him back!"
His fear was evident as he struggled to steady himself under Liao Tian's intimidating presence.
"Which bold bastards dare to utter such non—"
"Shut the fuck up!" Liao Tian roared at the man who tried to join the conversation.
Apprentice Huan continued, "That man not only managed to join the Martial Tower and received Lord Zi's approval but he's also managed to beco the Cultivation Tower's successor!"
Liao Tian's eyes narrowed at this shocking information.
'Martial Tower and Cultivation Tower, huh? Well, it doesn't really matter who he belongs to since I am only after the treasure in his possession,' Liao Tian thought to himself.
After pondering for a mont, Liao Tian said, "Where is he right now?"
"He went to the Array Tower before we separated!"
"Very well. If he wants to personally see him, I shall do just that."
As Liao Tian walked past Apprentice Huan to reach the exit, his arm flickered.
The next second, Apprentice Huan's body exploded into a bloody ss.
"Clean up this ss, but don't throw away the materials," Liao Tian said to the other man without turning around.
"A-as you wish, Tower Master!"
