"L-Lady Ning! I am sorry! I swear I will never disturb you during your training again! Please, spare my humble life!" The servant imdiately went on her knees and began begging for her life, thinking that Bai Ning was going to kill her, judging by her angry expression.
However, Bai Ning stopped in front of the jade slip and picked it up. Once she confird the contents inside, she looked at the servant and spoke, "Why would I kill you? Stand up."
"Yes!"
The servant imdiately stood back up, but her head remained lowered.
"Tell , where did you acquire this?" Bai Ning asked while holding up the jade slip.
"F-From a guest brought by Young Lady Sulan..." she quickly replied.
Bai Ning imdiately recalled her interaction with Yuan at the Pavilion of Knowledge. Hell, she still had the Immortal Monarch’s blood that was given to her by him.
"Is he still there?!" Bai Ning asked.
"Umm... I think so?"
"Bring to him right now!" Bai Ning commanded urgently, as if it were a life-or-death matter.
"Right away!"
The servant said as she began leading Bai Ning to where she had t Yuan.
anwhile, back at the guest house, Bai Sulan had finished telling Yuan everything she knew about Bai Xutao, though most of what she shared painted him as a perpetual troublemaker.
Yuan had hoped to hear sothing redeeming about Bai Xutao, sothing that might give him a reason to show leniency, but instead, it only made him dislike Bai Xutao even more.
According to Bai Sulan, Bai Xutao was an infamous predator—and not the kind found in nature. He was a vile scumbag known for harassing females, often relying on force and his privileged background to bend them into submission.
He was so vile that he even terrorized his own people within the Heavenly White Tiger Clan. The only reason he hadn’t faced serious punishnt was because he carried a trace amount of their ancestor’s bloodline and was considered the hope of the clan.
While that trace of bloodline was far too weak to have any real effect, the Heavenly White Tiger Clan still hoped to strengthen it through future generations.
"Why am I not shocked that he’s a true scumbag?" Feng Yuxiang shook her head with a look of disdain on her face.
Yuan looked at his servant and spoke, "You must have it hard being his servant."
The servant trembled at Yuan’s words, and tears began flowing from her eyes uncontrollably.
"Huh?" Yuan did not expect her to cry and didn’t know how to respond.
"Senior Brother Xutao often changes his servants because he often breaks them," Bai Sulan explained. "Being his servant is basically a death sentence. That said, she holds the current record for staying alive the longest."
"Young Master, you should do everyone a favor and just kill that son of a bitch," Feng Yuxiang suddenly cursed out loud.
"Eh?" Bai Sulan stared at them with wide eyes, having assud they were on friendly terms with Bai Xutao.
But before she could ask any questions, soone suddenly pounded on the door—so hard that cracks splintered across its surface.
Bai Sulan imdiately went to open the door, and to her surprise, Bai Ning was standing at the doorstep with a serious expression on her face.
"S-Senior Sister Ning? What are you—"
"Where is he?!" Bai Ning shouted as she stepped inside the house.
"I am right here," Yuan calmly responded as he approached her.
Bai Ning’s eyes widened at Yuan’s handso appearance.
"It’s been a while. We last spoke at the Pavilion of Knowledge. Do you rember?" Yuan asked.
"Of course, I rember! You think I could forget an event like that after what you gave ?!" she exclaid.
"Since you’re here to find , does this an you’re finally going to let et the Immortal Monarch?" she asked, her body trembling uncontrollably with excitent at just the thought of it.
"I don’t mind letting you et him, but you’ll have to do sothing for first," he said.
"Anything!" she replied without any hesitation.
"Bai Xutao. I ntioned that I wanted to speak with him, right? Bring him to and I’ll let you et the Immortal Monarch."
"Bai Xuatao...?" Bai Ning quickly recalled having this conversation with him before.
"Alright. I’ll bring him to you," she imdiately agreed.
Before leaving, she turned to glance at Feng Yuxiang, who stood boldly at Yuan’s side.
’Why does she look so familiar? Where have I seen her before?’
It wasn’t just Feng Yuxiang’s appearance that stirred her mory—her scent, too, was strikingly familiar. Yet Bai Ning couldn’t quite put her finger on it. Their past encounter had been brief, and right now, her mind was consud by sothing far more important.
Thus, after just a quick glance, Bai Ning stopped paying attention to Feng Yuxiang and left the house.
"Stay here until I return," Bai Ning commanded her servant before leaving.
Once Bai Ning left to fetch Bai Xutao, Feng Yuxiang mumbled, "She didn’t recognize ..."
Yuan looked at her and said, "Well, you’ve changed a lot since then."
Yuan returned to his seat shortly after to wait for Bai Ning’s return.
anwhile, after leaving, Bai Ning traveled straight to Bai Xutao’s training area, which existed underground beneath a mountain.
Upon arriving before a specific mountain, Bai Ning approached the sealed entrance at the bottom and said to the guard standing before it, "Tell Bai Xutao to get his ass out here."
The guard was baffled by Bai Ning’s sudden appearance and demand.
"Lady Ning... The Young Lord has ordered that no one is to disturb him unless it’s the Clan Leader. If I disobey, I’ll definitely face a grueso death," the guard said nervously.
Bai Ning fell silent for a mont.
"I understand," she said softly.
But just as the guard let out a sigh of relief, Bai Ning suddenly shot forward, slamd her foot into the sealed entrance, and kicked the door down with a deafening bang.
