"Hah!" The other woman suddenly sneered out loud. "I don't know how you managed to escape Gu Ruyan and Lin Canye, but you're in no position to help others."

Yuan turned to face the woman and asked, "And who are you? Are you also surnad Gu? Or do you belong to one of the other Legacy Families?"

"You know who we are?" The woman expressed surprise at Yuan's words.

"Not really, but now I know you're with the Seven Legacy Families."

"You know our background, yet you still want to defy us? You're dumber than I thought," said the man beside her.

Yuan shifted his gaze toward him and sneered. "Let's not pretend the Seven Legacy Families are so grand power in the upper heavens. You may have been all-powerful in the lower realms, but up here, your influence is nothing special."

"How dare you! Our families may not appear as imposing in the upper heavens, but that's only because we choose not to stand out! In truth, our influence is anything but small!" the man barked.

"Shut up! Why the hell are you telling him everything?!" the woman suddenly snapped at him.

"S-Sorry... but does it really matter? He's going to die soon, anyway."

"If your friend couldn't kill even with the Rod of Destruction, what can the two of you little sheep do to ?" Yuan said.

"?!?!" Their eyes went wide, astonishnt all over their faces, as Yuan's words were nothing short of unbelievable. Gu Ruyan had a tier 2 Rod of Destruction, which could instantly kill anyone below the third level of God Ascension. Yet, the man standing before them was only a Golden Immortal. Unless Gu Ruyan missed the attack, there was simply no chance that Yuan could've survived it.

"What should we do, Sister Chen? If what he says is true-"

"Zhuang Maojiang, are you an idiot?! Of course he's bluffing! Now hurry up and kill him! I will take care of that thieving bitch!" she shouted.

Zhuang Maojiang gave a hurried nod before drawing forth his battleaxe, then charged toward Yuan in the next instant. Expecting Zhuang Maojiang to finish Yuan quickly, the woman surnad Chen circled around the fight and rushed toward the injured woman.

However, in their very first exchange, Yuan completely overpowered Zhuang Maojiang, sending him flying back before turning to confront the woman.

"What the hell are you doing, Zhuang Maojiang?! Stop playing around and kill him already!"

"What the ?!" Zhuang Maojiang's face twisted in shock as he realized he had just lost to Yuan's sword. His cultivation was higher, and his battleaxe should have held the advantage in direct clashes-yet he still lost, and so decisively at that.

However, the woman's voice jolted him back to his senses, and he forcefully shook off his shock before flying at Yuan once more. This ti, he didn't just use raw strength.

"Heavy Dragon's Descent!" Zhuang Maojiang raised his battleaxe high, activating a martial technique that caused the weapon to swell in size. Once it had grown several tis larger, he brought it down in a vertical slash aid at Yuan.

"Hmph." Yuan sneered and casually swung his sword upward, eting Zhuang Maojiang's axe head-on once again. When their weapons collided, the mountains behind Yuan and the ground beneath them split apart. Yet Yuan stood perfectly fine-his grip steady, his stance unshaken, barely moving from the clash. After refining the Dragon Ancestor's Blood Essence, Yuan's raw power had skyrocketed, surpassing not only the limits of humans but even those of dragons. At this mont, there was no one who could rival him in sheer strength, and this doesn't even take into account his True Dragon Awakening, which would only further boost his strength.

"Scram!" Yuan swung his sword the next mont, sending Zhuang Maojiang and his axe flying into the distance.

"Impossible!" The woman surnad Chen exclaid after witnessing their exchange. "Who the hell are you?!"

"I already gave you my na," he calmly responded.

"That's not what I ant!" she cried out loud.

However, her brows suddenly twitched, and her eyes slowly widened as though she had just realized sothing. "Wait a second... Yuan? That's the na of the madman who slaughtered the Lord of Spirit Heaven, along with the leaders of the Seven Legacy Families that ruled there! How are you still alive?! I was told you had been taken care of!"

"Sorry to disappoint you, but as you can see, I am very much alive."

The woman gritted her teeth and drew her weapon-a purple sword that radiated an ominous aura that distorted the very air around it.

Yuan raised his eyebrows when he saw her familiar-looking sword, but before he could even say anything, the sword in his grasp trembled, and Zi Xuan's voice bood inside his head, "That's my sword!" The sword in the woman's grasp was none other than Violet Dream, one of the Exalted Blacksmith's earliest creations. It was also sothing he had given to Zi Xuan in the past. And Zi Xuan, who had been asleep this entire ti, was jolted awake by its familiar aura.

"You should've stayed hidden after barely escaping with your life last ti. Now that you've shown yourself, I'll make sure to finish the job," the woman said as she leveled Violet Dream at Yuan's face.

"This bitch..." Zi Xuan growled, her trembling voice on the verge of erupting. "Not only is she tainting my treasure with her filthy hands, but she dares to point it at you?! I'll tear her apart, limb by limb!"

"Calm down. There's no need to waste your energy on a weakling like her," Yuan said quickly, trying to soothe her anger.

"Don't worry, I'll get it back for you."

"Alright... but you better hurry, or I might accidentally do it myself."
