In the hall, Lin Xuankong was walking towards the Cultivation Room, his heart pounding with excitent. Three people approached him; one was Steward Hu Shuo, a ruddy-faced man and one of the chosen participants for this Demon Slaying Conference.
Another was the Daoist Nun Nalan Yunzhu, who had distinguished herself in the battle against the Demon People Race.
Nalan Yunzhu was a coly woman of about twenty-eight or twenty-nine, and she was relatively quiet. Standing beside her was a burly man in his thirties with thick eyebrows, large eyes, and a wide mouth. His na was Lin Jiao, also a Steward with Second-Layer Late Stage Cultivation, and he too was a participant in the Demon Slaying Conference.
Upon seeing Lin Xuankong, the expressions of all three changed slightly. They cupped their hands in greeting, and Steward Hu Shuo spoke first, "Steward Lin, I’ve been aning to find you these past few days, but unfortunately, I’ve been too busy. I finally ran into you today!"
Seeing his solemn expression, Lin Xuankong couldn’t help but speculate. "Steward Hu is looking for ? Is it about the Demon Slaying Conference?"
Hu Shuo nodded, his expression somber. "Yes! The Grand Array in Demon-Suppressing Valley harbors countless Demons, and dangers abound. We, as fellow sect mbers, must work together and strategize carefully to have even the slightest chance of survival!"
Lin Xuankong said, "I heard that Steward Hu has already reached the Mid-grade of the Third Layer and possesses the Four Thunders Surrounding Body Talent. With such strength, you are already top-tier among the many Martial Cultivators participating in the Demon Slaying Conference. Are you still worried about unexpected dangers in the Demon-Suppressing Valley?"
Before Hu Shuo could respond, Lin Jiao, standing beside him, grinned broadly and said loudly, "If we’re just talking about my master, Steward Hu, he would have at least a fifty percent chance of surviving the Conference! Plus, Steward Xu Bei has a fine weapon. If we could coordinate with them, the six of us working together would greatly improve our chances of survival!"
Lin Jiao suddenly showed a look of indignation. "Master, why do you still bring up those two? Yesterday, when you took to Zhao Yufei and Xu Bei to discuss the Demon Slaying Conference, HMPH, that Zhao Yufei completely ignored you! Xu Bei did speak. He said we should just follow his arrangents, claiming that as long as we obeyed, he would ensure your survival! Those two are truly arrogant... He paused and looked at Nalan Yunzhu. "Don’t worry. Before I die, I will protect you and won’t let any Demon harm a single hair on your head!"
Hearing this, Nalan Yunzhu’s gaze softened. She moved closer to the burly man, but a trace of lancholy touched her face.
Hu Shuo’s expression turned stern. "We haven’t even entered the valley, and you’re already talking about life and death! Lin Jiao, shut up."
Lin Jiao glared but didn’t dare say anything. He clearly held considerable respect for his master, Hu Shuo, and would never dare to talk back.
Lin Xuankong, watching from the side, felt sowhat speechless.
These three are just complaining and displaying affection here, but they haven’t proposed any constructive suggestions! Do they expect to negotiate with Zhao Yufei and Xu Bei? Forget it. Xu Bei clearly has a vendetta against , acting as if I stole his wife... I wonder if he even has a wife!
Lin Xuankong shook his head. "Given the situation... Steward Hu, do you have any ideas?"
After a mont of contemplation, Hu Shuo said, "If the four of us could join Steward Zhao and the others, it would naturally benefit the three of you. But if we act separately...
