Alexandra’s eyes flickered with astonishnt. Destin Saint’s offer was tempting beyond reason, yet she was not soone who could be blinded by riches—especially when the man before her possessed a Universal Godly Scripture. Such generosity was never without hooks.
It felt like bargaining with destiny itself... a deal with the devil.
"Since Sir Destin Saint has so much influence and resources, I really would like to know what exactly you want in return," Alexandra said coldly, voice steady. "Let’s just be transparent, because we both know this kind of offer always cos with strings."
Destin Saint did not appear offended. If anything, the faceless figure in front of her seed to smile faintly, as though her suspicion had already been accounted for in so unseen calculation.
His voice was gentle, yet weighty, like a man speaking truths from a horizon only he could see, "Miss Alexandra, the strings you speak of are inevitable — but they are not chains. They are paths. And paths, once walked, cannot be unwoven. What I offer you is not just wealth or influence... but the chance to choose where those paths will lead."
’As expected...’ Alexandra’s pitch-black eyes flickered with a hint of scorn and let Destin Saint continue.
As Destin Saint continued, his voice now contained a wisp of sorrow, as if he had witnessed countless tragedies unfold before they blood.
"There is indeed sothing I require of you — but it is not solely for . It is for all heirs, such as ourselves, bearers of Godly Scriptures...." His words flowed slowly and asured, like prophecies falling into place, "A shadow festers, unseen by most, but I have glimpsed it in the fractures of destiny. It is the nesis of our kind, the hand that would smother even the brightest flas. It cannot be allowed to grow further!"
Alexandra’s eyes widened ever so slightly when she heard this unexpected revelation, and her heart tightened as her thoughts swirled, ’The nesis of Universal Godly Scriptures?! Is that even possible? Why didn’t Old Chaos warn about it? Furthermore, this guy is incredibly powerful, with the potential to influence sothing like destiny, so why would he want to eliminate this threat?
’Don’t tell he’s using as re cannon fodder to probe that so-called nesis. Or worse, he’s using this pretext to send to my death. This way, he’ll get rid of without even doing anything...
’No...he just said that threat couldn’t be allowed to grow any further, doesn’t this an this threat might be here in the Middle Plains, and that’s why he needed to take care of it!’
Despite her doubts, she didn’t show them as she was still uncertain about Destin Saint’s actual goals, not to ntion she wanted more information about this ’nesis’ because she would confirm it with Chaotic Darkness. If it turns out to be true, then she might really consider working with Destin Saint.
"I need more information before I consider your offer. Furthermore, why won’t you take action personally and want to go after such a dangerous entity?" Alexandra serenely catechized without hiding her real doubts.
"If the threads were mine to command, I would have severed this calamity long ago. But fate is a cruel weaver, Miss. By the ti I realized what was unfolding, I was already caught in its loom. Now, restrictions bind — restrictions born not of weakness, but of inevitability. To move against this shadow myself would only tighten those threads. And as for the knowledge I carry..." His voice deepened to an almost paternal caution, "Even to glimpse it without sufficient strength is to invite ruin. At the very least, one must step into godhood to bear the weight of what I have seen."
This ti, Alexandra didn’t doubt Destin Saint’s words because they were sowhat similar to Chaotic Darkness’s usual warnings. Nonetheless, she still felt intrigued by this entire matter, especially the ’inevitability’ Destin Saint just ntioned.
After all, for soone who claid to comprehend the Arcane Law of Density, these kinds of inevitability should be quite a serious matter.
Nonetheless, Alexandra could only guess Destin Saint’s powers. Still, she couldn’t be certain because she knew better than anyone that a Universal Godly Scripture’s powers were unpredictable and usually didn’t follow common sense, even if one knew their Arcane Law!
Alexandra didn’t press on that matter anymore and asked, "Then what is this threat, and how are you so sure I can eliminate it?"
Destin Saint replied, this ti with an enigmatic gentleness, as though he had already seen this question asked and answered in countless echoes of ti.
"The threat," He said softly, "Is the hand that bent fate itself to keep us blind. Even the Upper Plains find no path that leads to him. He is the seed of every coincidence that shackled my steps.
"The threat’s na is unknown to ; in fact, I can’t even deduce or peer into anything related to this threat or predict its path. But those who know about its depraved existence call it, the Cursed One!" Destin Saint solemnly revealed.
"The Cursed One?" Alexandra repeated this strange moniker, and she had to admit that even the sa make this ’threat’ sounds quite evil and depraved.
The small figure nodded before Destin Saint replied softly, "Yes, the Cursed One is what we all called ’it’ because this Cursed One is actually another heir of another Universal Godly Scripture!"
Alexandra’s impassive expression instantly crumbled when she heard the true origin of this thread, and the surrounding darkness churned as if mirroring her emotions.
Destin Saint didn’t seem surprised, as if he had expected this kind of reaction, and continued, "Although no one knows the na of that UGS, from the ancient records and so begone era ruins, I personally believe the Arcane Law is related to ’Curse’.
"In fact, the nas of every UGS are sacred and not even Universal Godly Scriptures know each other’s nas, nor do they know about which Arcane Law they all represent.
"It is also imperative that only the heir of a UGS should know the true na of its Universal Godly Scripture because their true nas are related to their core secrets. Moreover, none of the Universal Godly Scriptures would try to learn about each other because it is a forbidden act, and every UGS is bound by unique rules which they can’t break!"
’Isn’t he revealing too much right now? Or is he really a kind-hearted gentleman who really likes peace?’
Alexandra, despite her shock, couldn’t see through the amiable Destin Saint at all because he seed too...reliable. Yet for this exact reason, Alexandra felt uncomfortable and wary of Destin Saint.
Nonetheless, she didn’t have ti to mull over Destin Saint’s character because her focus was on this Cursed One!
Alexandra coldly asked, "Again, why ?"
This ti, Destin Saint’s tone was edged with inevitability, "You ask why you? The truth, Miss, is that you are already entwined in the Cursed One’s path. Even if I remain silent, you will et him. You will choose, and that choice... will shape more than just your destiny!"
