Jacob couldn’t help but think about his little apprentice, Elia, when he heard about what happened in the Great Cosmic Continent of Sagittarius.
Although he had heard about this great war between the Life and Dead Factions, he didn’t pay much attention to it since it had nothing to do with him.
However, the recent events that seed to be related to the Undead Skyfall Canyons piqued his interest because Elia was there, undergoing the trial Jacob had given her.
’If this entire event is related to Elia, then things are turning out to be more interesting...’ Jacob thought as he sipped on his drink before a cold flash flickered in his eyes. ’As long as she can beco a Legendary King, everything will be fine. This is sothing she has to overco, or she won’t be useful to ...’
Jacob clearly had no intention of saving Elia or intervening in that great war because there was nothing there for him to gain from it. Nonetheless, he decided to pay a little more attention to this matter from now on.
He instructed Nyx, "Pay attention to any new developnt related to the Undead Skyfall Canyons."
"Heh, are you worried about your little disciple?" Nyx snickered with a hint of unhidden jealousy.
Jacob didn’t bother to reply and continued with his drink while listening to those ogres, who were now discussing whether they should take the commission of the Life Faction if they issued it, and take the risk to earn massive rewards, which didn’t interest Jacob at all.
However, at this mont, Jacob’s focus shifted to another conversation between a burly hobgoblin and a transmuted magic beast with black fur and a pointy horn on its reptile forehead.
The hobgoblin seed to be talking with great interest, "Brother Gila, you have already beco an outer Dark Baron of the Noxvalis City, and I’m still struggling in the Upper Dark Noble rank. Co on, go on a group mission with , and I’ll make sure to treat you nicely."
The transmuted magic beast, Gila, smiled with a hint of pride, clearly satisfied with the hobgoblin, who was his old friend, in his humble attitude.
He replied dismissively, "Well, we’ve both known each other for a while now; there’s no need for little brother to be so humble. Actually, today my purpose of eting here is because I require your help, and if we can get this done, we’ll both get a huge fortune and enough rits to increase by at least two outer dark noble ranks!"
"What is it?!"
The hobgoblin completely forgot about his displeasure of being called a ’little brother’ and instantly turned ecstatic when he heard Gila’s proposition.
After all, most independent experts co to Noxvalis City seeking to join the outer dark noble circle of the Dark Kingdom, where they can earn rewards and acquire rare knowledge and skills without being fully bound to the Dark Kingdom.
Every city under the Dark Kingdom was like an independent Dark City in the lower plains, and they all had their own outer and personal dark noble system.
The outer dark nobles are only tied to their registered cities. At the sa ti, the personal mbers could use their status anywhere in the Dark Kingdom’s territory or, given proper respect according to their titles, even outside the Dark Kingdom.
But here, becoming a personal mber of the Dark Kingdom was very different and required many trials to overco, and most didn’t make it to the end.
Ultimately, those unable to join the ranks of personal mbers would opt for outer mbership, as reaching the rank of outer dark marquis would grant them the opportunity to beco a personal mber of Dark Baron rank directly.
That’s why the hobgoblin was so thrilled to hear about the opportunity to rise two whole outer dark noble ranks, which sounded too good to be true.
Gila didn’t seem to be worried about others listening to what he was about to say and replied, "Hehe, the thing this mission was actually a Dark Mission issued by the Deathless Prince himself quite a while ago.
"However, those official dark nobles didn’t show any result, so the Deathless Prince decided to make the Dark Mission public, where anyone with a Dark Baron rank, whether official or unofficial, can partake in this mission of the Deathless Prince.
"The mission is actually straightforward; the Deathless Prince wants any clues or whereabouts of a traitor of the Alchemy Guild. If anyone can prove the Deathless Prince’s clues regarding this alchemy guild traitor, their official or unofficial ranks will be directly increased after the authenticity of the information is verified.
"Furthermore, if soone can pinpoint this traitor’s exact location, the Deathless Prince will owe that persona a personal favor as well as make them an official Dark Marquis!" Gila’s eyes were filled with longing and ecstasy as if he could already see himself receiving this reward.
As for the hobgoblin, so of those who had been eavesdropping were shocked for a mont before excitent flashed past their eyes as they realized this was huge news, and if they could find this traitor, they could all rise with a single leap!
Yet, those with so brains would also understand that this mission was likely perilous and challenging to fulfill, given its previous status as a Dark Mission, and even official dark nobles couldn’t complete it before it beca a public mission.
The hobgoblin was also cunning as he asked, "Why would his highness the Deathless Prince be interested in the traitor of the Alchemy Guild, and who is it really? I never heard anything in the Star News, nor did the Alchemy Guild release any official statent."
Gila snorted with disdain as he replied, "Alchemy Guild is currently facing a massive crisis. Do you think they would have ti to care about one asly traitor?
"As for why the Deathless Prince wants this guy, I have no clue. All I know is this alchemy guild’s traitor is extrely cunning and has been hoodwinking everyone. Many people have been searching for him for hundreds of years and have almost given up.
"However, so ti ago, he appeared again, and now he’s on the wanted list of many powers and organizations. Probably the Deathless Prince also wants sothing from him, but we shouldn’t poke our nose in this matter too much!"
"Who is it then?" The hobgoblin asked with anticipation, as the background didn’t matter to him as long as he could find this person.
Gila revealed, glancing at the listeners and raising his voice deliberately, "You might’ve heard of him before, as this traitor is actually a King Alchemist and his title is the...Myriad Galaxy King!"
