Now reading: Chapter 1159: Scales that Dare the Void Mantis! (1) from Cursed Immortality, a Xianxia novel by Wahi.

Watching the Veracity Scythe getting closer, Jacob’s decision crystallized in an instant, ’This is way out of my league since I can’t kill it... I can’t restrain it...then I’ll just remove it!’

Jacob wasn’t delusional enough to believe he still had a fighting chance to restrain or kill Whiteness at this point, nor did he believe he could pay the price of wishing to restrict a Higher Law God like Whiteness.

Furthermore, Jacob wasn’t expecting Immortika to take action because the price was simply too high to even consider, and neither the Cursed Book seed to be interested in helping him.

That’s why he decided to directly expel Whiteness from the Infinite Space. He didn’t even think about just removing himself and trapping Whiteness inside because it would be like leaving a wolf behind in a henhouse.

Not to ntion the Infinite Space was his safe haven to hide from enemies like Immortal Nimrod and Destin Saint. That’s why he can’t entrap Whiteness inside.

At that mont, his authority surged as he prepared to expel and forcibly eject Whiteness from the Infinite Space, regardless of consequence, regardless of backlash, because he was willing to die even if he knew there was a chance for revival.

But just as Jacob’s will aligned, just as the Infinite Space began calculating ejection vectors...

Immortika’s voice exploded with unrestrained amusent, "Hah!"

The cackle rang through Jacob’s mind, sharp, delighted, almost mocking, "Hahahaha, what are you afraid of?"

Jacob’s eyes flickered violently when he heard those words, and it was as if ti had stopped in that mont...

"AFRAID!?"

Before he could respond, Immortika continued, voice dripping with glee and sothing far more dangerous, "That thing? If that was a Void Mantis at its peak, this could’ve been complicated, but a Void Mantis flailing around with its toys broken? Hehehehe...!"

The Cursed Book’s tone sharpened, excitent bleeding through its mirthful laughter, "So, what are you afraid of? You aren’t even using half of your arsenal, are you ’blind’?"

As Immortika’s cryptic words trailed off, the tension reached a suffocating crescendo as the Veracity Scythe was already descending.

Space itself had been flayed open, distance rendered aningless, authority mocked, and the Infinite Space, Jacob’s greatest refuge, was screaming under the weight of sothing that should never have existed within it.

Jacob didn’t have ti to inquire, calculate, or mulled over Immortika’s words. But Immortika’s annoying laughter still echoed in his mind, sharp and mocking, layered with sothing far more dangerous than amusent because he had already picked up many clues from the Cursed Book’s cryptic sentence.

Furthermore, he almost got captured the last ti by Destin Saint when he ignored Immortika’s words last ti, so he instinctively played those words in his mind and suddenly...

"A Void Mantis flailing around its toys broken..."

Jacob didn’t even have the luxury of questioning what was broken or what toy Immortika was referring to, but he got the gist; Whiteness wasn’t at its full capacity, and Jacob might be able to retaliate.

"Arsenal...are you blind?"

Then those last words suddenly resounded in his mind like thunder clap, ’Blind...eyes!?’

It struck him like a supernova detonating inside his soul as his thoughts snapped inward, violent and absolute.

"Are you hinting at the Eyes of Judge!?"

"Hahahaha..."

However, only Immortika’s demonic laughter sounded, but Jacob was over 90% sure that he had guessed it right, as his mind instantly flashed with the ability he had sealed away since the mont he acquired it.

The sa ability he swore never to use lightly, or never against beings beyond his comprehension. Especially not against a Higher Law God of the Fantastic Insect Race!

Jacob’s Cursed Heart thundered at that mont because if Immortika was wrong,

and if this failed, he wouldn’t just die, but he would be judged unworthy by his own Law and lose it forever.

But there was no other path as the Veracity Scythe was already within the final margin, and Jacob knew Immortika had never been wrong or said sothing without reason, despite the fact of the Cursed Book’s cynical and perplexed nature.

That’s why Jacob instantly dropped the idea of expelling Whiteness, and his flaming eyes burned brighter than ever before, and for the first ti since he had acquired the Eyes of Judge, they began to change!

The fire within them collapsed inward, condensing, restructuring, until the flas twisted into sothing abstract and terrifying; scales!

Not physical scales, but overlapping glyphs of judgnt, balance, and verdict, endlessly folding into one another, rotating with cold, inexorable precision.

At that mont, Jacob declared, "Scales of Justice!"

The mont the words left his mouth, ti stopped as if placed under review, and the Infinite Space fell utterly silent at its master’s behest.

Even Whiteness’s Veracity Scythe halted mid-descent, its edge suspended less than a breath from Jacob’s skull.

Whiteness also felt it instantly, and he was again aghast because this ti it wasn’t suppression or sealing but sothing far worse because even Ti Law was ineffective against a Void Mantis of his exalted caliber.

At that mont, the Eyes of Judge flared, and a profound, formless aura erupted from Jacob’s skeletal fra, flooding the Infinite Space like a cold verdict descending upon reality itself.

Behind Jacob, a vague and imnse outline of an astral frawork, faintly etched into existence, like a celestial instrunt manifestation: the Celestial Astrolabe.

Although it was incomplete and fragntary, it was still a sight to behold, especially within the vicinity of the Infinite Space; it seed more complete and absolute.

Moreover, this ti, Jacob’s celestial Astrolabe seed to have a profound and unique aura around it, completely different from its usual manifestation as the infinity symbol rotated slowly, endlessly folding into itself, neither beginning nor ending, representing continuity without rcy, judgnt without finality.

But it wasn’t even the beginning, for right at that mont, the Scales of Justice manifested!

They did not descend from above or rise from below, as they simply appeared, as if they had always been there and reality had rely forgotten to acknowledge them.

Two vast pans of translucent, obsidian-white construct hovered before Jacob; they were asymtrical and unequal.

One pan bore the infinity symbol, deeply etched into its surface, cracked and weathered, as though it had weighed countless eternities. The other was too smooth, yet it was reflecting nothing, not even light!

Between them stretched chains not of tal, but of cause, intent, and existence as they humd softly, symbolizing the beginning of the Judgnt!
