Chapter 1231: The Living Trauma

Far away from the ruined battlefield where heaven and earth had nearly collapsed under the divine wrath of the Undead Skyfall, the shattered remnants of the Death Grave-Sealing Dome still crackled with fading black lightning.

The winds screamed through the broken skies while an endless death aura drifted like a funeral mist across the horizon.

Yet high above all of it, hidden between folds of distorted space that even Quasi-Myths would never perceive, there existed something strange.

An invisible web made with countless translucent threads stretched silently through space itself, intertwined like an enormous ethereal net woven across reality.

The threads pulsed faintly with pale blue radiance, inprehensible and ancient, while at the center of that web floated a single enormous eye.

The eye was without emotion or life, and yet it had watched everything from the moment Jacob descended upon the battlefield, the descent of the Undead Skyfall, then the eruption of divine authority, and finally the instant Jacob vanished before the divine spell and ended it all…

It observed everything silently, like a detached witness standing outside the flow of causality itself.

At this moment, within that massive eye, countless faint reflections flickered one after another like Jacob erasing the Undead Lich King, the undead armies fleeing, Elia kneeling, Jacob standing beneath the ruined heavens like an existence untouched by mortality.

But right at that moment, the eye suddenly trembled because at that exact moment, Jacob had looked upward, and his gaze felt as if it had crossed an endless distance instantly and landed directly upon the invisible web.

For the briefest fraction of a moment, the emotionless eye seemed to flinch as the countless threads rippled chaotically as if some unknown instinct had just screamed in warning!

But Jacob merely glanced once before calmly looking away as though nothing existed there at all, and it was just a coincidence.

The restless fluctuations gradually subsided, silence returned, and moments later, after killing the Giant War King, Jacob was gone with Elia under the survivors’ horrified gazes.

Only after his presence pletely vanished did the enormous eye begin to distort strangely. The next moment, the countless ethereal threads rapidly pressed inward as layer after layer folded in on itself, and it grew smaller and smaller.

Finally, the eye condensed into a small jade pendant shaped like an ethereal blue hourglass, with soft azure light flowing within the translucent jade, like liquid time itself.

The next moment, a silent tear opened behind it, and the pendant vanished into the spatial crack before the tear closed pletely, leaving no trace.

Far from the battlefield, beyond the regions occupied by the fleeing undead armies, deep within the deadlands of the Sagittarius Continent, where black soil stretched endlessly beneath a dark crimson sky, lay a barren wasteland filled with ruined bones and abandoned corpses.

Nothing moved there, no life or sound, only death, yet beneath that desolate land, hidden impossibly deep underground, a colossal warship rested silently within an enormous cavern.

Its dark, metallic hull was fractured and ancient, covered in strange runic scars and corroded battle marks, as if it had just survived a massive upheaval that had almost destroyed it.

At this moment, countless cables and crystalline conduits stretched across its surface like veins, making the entire vessel blend perfectly into its surroundings without any magical fluctuation or technological signatures.

Even Quasi-Myths scanning this region personally would only perceive empty wastelands above.

Inside the vessel, a dim control room flickered with pale blue projections, and in front of it, three figures sat in absolute silence.

One was a tall man dressed in black formal attire, his posture calm and upright despite the grim atmosphere. His features were sharp and posed while faint traces of exhaustion lingered beneath his eyes.

Beside him sat a woman wrapped in a white coat. Her silver hair cascaded coldly over her shoulders while icy blue eyes stared motionlessly at the enormous projection before them. Her expression remained detached, yet the slight stiffness in her fingers betrayed her inner turmoil.

The third was a young woman, leaning against her seat with her arms crossed. Wild silver-blue hair framed a strikingly beautiful face while faint arcs of lightning flickered unconsciously around her body. Yet unlike her usual arrogance, her glowing eyes now carried unmistakable shock and terror.

Before them floated a massive projection displaying everything that had just transpired in the Evil Domain.

But the scene at this moment was frozen upon the figure wearing the dark windbreaker beneath the shattered heavens. Silence dominated the room, as no one spoke, because even now, what they had witnessed felt unreal.

Right at this moment, space rippled silently before the seated man, and the two women instantly stiffened, as if they feared something unexpected might jump out of it, especially with that figure’s projection hovering in front of them.

A spatial tear opened without warning, and from within it, the jade pendant slowly floated out, with the ethereal blue hourglass within it shimmering faintly.

The three of them had a collective sigh of relief when they saw it was only the pendant.

But the man’s usually posed expression never returned, as for the first time in an extremely long while, genuine fear, that not even the Myth of Reverend could inflict on him, appeared on his face.

Moreover, it was not ordinary fear, but the kind that came from seeing something originating from an unforgettable trauma and terror.

“Nell…” The woman in the white coat whispered solemnly.

On the other hand, the lightning-haired young woman had already gone deathly pale. Her usual unruly demeanor was nowhere to be seen as she stared at the pendant as though looking at her own execution order.

Meanwhile, Nell himself slowly raised a trembling hand, even as his breathing seemed slightly unstable, and, very carefully, almost reverently, he took the pendant and wore it around his neck.

The cold jade rested against his chest, yet his eyes never once left the frozen projection before him.

The hooded figure in the windbreaker, the existence that descended like a calamity, overwhelmed a God’s descent, and left just as suddenly.

The control room remained utterly silent because all three of them had a sense of déjà vu from that figure, or at least the way he did everything…

At this moment, Nell finally spoke with trepidation and resignation, “It was most likely that monster…Faceless Ancient!”
