The woman on the other end of the phone hesitated, "But the president has instructed that today’s eting is very important and cannot be disturbed for anything!"
Ling Yueyue had no patience for small talk, and directly stated her purpose, "Get the phone to him quickly, this is an order from the president’s wife! Just run in and tell him that Anxin and I are being followed, and we’re on the way to Huo Tian now. Tell him to send soone out to et us promptly!"
"Alright, I’ll give the phone to the president right away!" Hearing this, the person on the other end was quite frightened and hurriedly took the call, without hanging up, into the eting room.
Shortly after, Huo Junmo’s deep voice ca from the other side, "Hello!"
No beating around the bush, Ling Yueyue went straight to the point, "Quickly co to et us outside the Huo Tian Group, Anxin and I are being followed! We don’t know who they are targeting! From the looks of it, they won’t stop until they achieve their goal!"
Huo Junmo frowned, "Where are you now?"
Ling Yueyue glanced out the car window, "Southern Sky Building!"
Huo Junmo pondered for a mont, then made a decisive decision, "You’re just one intersection away from Huo Tian. I’ll et you downstairs, rember, make sure the driver gets you to the entrance!"
"Okay, got it!" Ling Yueyue nodded, hung up the phone, put it in her pants pocket, then repeated Huo Junmo’s words to the driver.
The driver shook his head, "No can do, the entrance of Huo Tian Group is a pedestrian path, if my car gets caught there, I’ll have points deducted! My license might even get revoked! No way, no way, I can at most take you to the intersection before Huo Tian Group’s entrance!"
Ling Yueyue pouted, pleading in a low voice, "Driver uncle, I’m really begging you, get us inside and I’ll definitely reward you handsoly!"
The driver was resolute, "No way, no way! That’s too risky, I can’t take that risk! Just now I violated rules for you, I can’t break more for you! Ladies, please don’t make it hard for , I’m just trying to make a living! I have three kids to feed at ho!"
"...!" Ling Yueyue was not giving up, she still wanted to keep pleading with him.
Ye Anxin held onto Ling Yueyue’s arm and softly said, "Yueyue, let it go! We don’t need to make things difficult for him! The driver uncle has his hardships too, let’s not trouble him!"
The driver smiled in agreent, "Yeah! Once you pass that intersection, it’s Huo Tian Group! There are so many pedestrians, nothing will happen!"
Ling Yueyue bit her lip, her brow furrowed with worry.
Just then, the driver suddenly exclaid, "Hey, that Buick is gone!"
Ling Yueyue and Ye Anxin both quickly leaned out to check behind the car.
The driver let out a breath, smiling, "Maybe because this is the downtown area, with many traffic police around. They must be scared and didn’t follow us!"
"Whew, finally, it’s all safe now! That scared the life out of !" Ling Yueyue let out a big breath, slumping weakly in the car seat.
Ye Anxin said nothing, but her brow showed no sign of relaxing.
At this point, they reached their destination, and the driver stopped the car, "We’re here, get off!"
"Thank you, driver uncle!" Ling Yueyue cheerfully paid for the ride, then opened the car door, thanked the driver, and pulled Ye Anxin to get out.
A road lay before them, and once they crossed it, they would be a few minutes’ walk to Huo Tian Group’s entrance.
"Yueyue, who do you think that Buick was targeting earlier? You? Or ?" Ye Anxin asked thoughtfully.
She wasn’t one to overthink or fret, but she was ticulous and liked to observe surroundings carefully!
Earlier, the target of that car was clearly one of them!
But who among them was it?
Ling Yueyue seed unconcerned, relaxed in deanor, "Hey, let your uncle and my Mo Mo find soone to investigate, then we’ll know! With their skills, there’s nothing they can’t find out!"
Upon hearing this, Ye Anxin quickly caught the focus in her words, "Mo Mo?"
Ling Yueyue chuckled, speaking with nonchalance, "Hehe, it’s the nickna I gave him. Only I can call him that, what do you think? Sounds nice, right?"
Ye Anxin twitched the corners of her mouth, throwing her a blank stare.
"Let’s go! Huo Tian Group is just ahead! Look, my Mo Mo seems to have co out!" Ling Yueyue pointed at Huo Junmo, who had just walked out of Huo Tian Building, and pulled Ye Anxin across the road.
A ten-ter wide two-way street, the two walked to the middle, and before they could finish crossing, the black Buick that had disappeared suddenly appeared out of nowhere, speeding towards them with breathtaking speed.
Seeing the sudden vehicle charge, Huo Junmo’s face changed dramatically.
Ye Anxin’s face turned pale, Ling Yueyue gasped!
Just as the car was about to hit them, Ling Yueyue suddenly tackled Ye Anxin to the ground, rolling aside, evading the lethal crash.
At this mont, countless security guards flooded out from Huo Tian Group, sprinting towards Ling Yueyue and Ye Anxin.
Having failed once, the black Buick quickly reversed, attempting to roll over Ling Yueyue and Ye Anxin.
"Anxin, run!" Ling Yueyue reacted swiftly, hurriedly pulling Ye Anxin from the ground, sprinting like lightning towards Huo Tian Building.
Just as the black Buick’s rear was about to hit Ling Yueyue and Ye Anxin, the rescuing security guards had already rushed over!
The Buick paused for a mont, then hit the gas hard and fled.
Huo Junmo quickly approached them, filled with concern, "Are you alright? Are you hurt anywhere?"
Ling Yueyue was speechless for a mont, only to hear Ye Anxin beside her suddenly cry out, when Huo Junmo and Ling Yueyue looked, she had already collapsed to the ground.
Ling Yueyue hurriedly crouched down to check on her, "Anxin, what’s wrong with you?"
Beads of sweat rolled down Ye Anxin’s forehead, she bit her lip hard and didn’t answer but slowly rolled up her jeans.
"Oh my god!" Seeing Ye Anxin’s scraped knee, Ling Yueyue couldn’t help but scream.
"You’re hurt?" Huo Junmo spoke, uncontrollable concern in his voice.
Ye Anxin bit her lip tightly and nodded with difficulty!
"What should we do? Co on, I’ll carry you to the hospital!" Seeing her injured, Ling Yueyue was imdiately flustered, putting her arm over her shoulder, ready to go.
"Yueyue!" Ye Anxin quickly stopped her!
She knew Yueyue was concerned for her, which was why she was in such a panic!
They had just escaped danger; if they left alone now, what if that Buick returned?
They would only be more in danger then.
"Let’s go to my company! Your leg’s inconvenient, I’ll carry you in!" Seeing Ye Anxin injured, Huo Junmo lost his usual composure, bending down to scoop Ye Anxin up, taking large strides towards the Huo Tian Group inside.
Little did they know, as he picked Ye Anxin up, a person quickly pressed the cara shutter from the off corner of the distant crowd, capturing all their movents!
