Ye Anxin’s eyes widened in disbelief as she looked at this woman, then glanced at Mu Beiting beside her.
The reason for her expression was entirely because this woman and Mu Beiting shared a face that was sixty to seventy percent similar.
This woman was very beautiful, extrely beautiful, more so than any woman she had ever seen. However, her face was pale, the kind of sickly pale without any blood color! Her body was also very thin, as if a gust of wind could knock her over.
If her face were less soft and more robust, she would be the spitting image of Mu Beiting.
Who exactly is this woman? Why does she look so much like the uncle?
Clearly, besides Ye Anxin, the woman sitting on the ground also noticed this issue, staring intently at Mu Beiting while touching her own face, seemingly pondering this question seriously.
Ye Anxin couldn’t help but say to Mu Beiting beside her, "Uncle, this woman looks so much like you!"
Mu Beiting’s eyes quickly swept over the woman’s face, his thin lips parted as he lightly uttered three words, "I don’t think so!"
"...!" Ye Anxin looked at him speechlessly.
How could he not feel it? They look so alike! Mu Rufeng said they were uncle and nephew, yet they don’t look alike at all! If she didn’t know that the uncle has no siblings, she’d definitely think they were siblings.
Because, other than siblings, she really couldn’t think of another reason why two people in the world would resemble each other so much.
Just as Ye Anxin and the woman were both in a daze, an immature voice sounded impatiently, then a petite figure hurriedly ran over, "Silk, where did you go? I looked everywhere for you!"
Ye Anxin looked towards the small voice and saw a little girl about six or seven years old hurriedly running up from the stairs below, crouched down, and held a white Poranian in her arms.
Even though she held the Poranian in her arms, it kept barking at the woman sitting on the ground, wishing it could swallow her whole!
The little girl realized sothing was wrong and lowered her head apologetically, "Big sister, I’m sorry, Silk didn’t an to. She’s usually very good, has never bitten anyone, and has never attacked anyone! I don’t know why she’s been chasing you today! Big sister, I’m really sorry, are you hurt?"
The woman got up from the ground, patted the dust off her body, and smiled, "It’s okay, I’m not hurt, I just accidentally fell!"
Seeing how gentle and easy-going the woman was, the little girl beca even more embarrassed, "Big sister, I’m really, really sorry! I’ll make sure to take good care of her from now on and not let her randomly attack people!"
"It’s fine, really, I’m okay, you don’t need to feel guilty!" As she spoke, she made as if to touch the Poranian in the little girl’s arms. However, before she could touch it, the Poranian, which the little girl had cald down with difficulty, started barking at her again.
The loud barking sounded particularly piercing in the otherwise quiet hallway.
The woman laughed awkwardly at the dog’s barking and shyly withdrew her hand.
"Then, big sister, I’ll be going first! Thank you for not blaming her today!" the little girl said, nodding towards the woman before holding the Poranian and heading downstairs.
Strangely enough, as soon as the little girl turned around and the Poranian couldn’t see the woman anymore, it imdiately quieted down.
Ye Anxin curiously watched the scene unfold before her, seemingly pondering sothing.
"Let’s go!" Mu Beiting, acting completely like an outsider, took Ye Anxin’s hand and was ready to keep heading upstairs.
However, they had barely taken two steps when the woman who had gotten up from the ground rushed up, blocking their way with her hand, her big round eyes scrutinizing Mu Beiting without any restraint, squinting, and smilingly asked, "This big brother, I’m Qin Muyao, what’s your na? Do you know why we look so alike?"
"Mu...!" Ye Anxin repeatedly mulled over the word!
Why did this woman not only look like the uncle but also have his surna in her na? Could it really just be a pure coincidence?
Compared to the two curious-looking won beside him, Mu Beiting frowned, looking indifferent and impatiently said, "Get lost!"
Having grown up never being shouted at like this, Qin Muyao’s eyes instantly reddened, looking aggrievedly at Mu Beiting.
"Miss, I’m sorry, my uncle is just like this, he ans no harm, please don’t mind," Ye Anxin explained quickly, unable to dislike this girl just based on her appearance, especially after Mu Beiting had yelled at her.
Qin Muyao asked again, "Uncle? Sister, is this big brother your uncle?"
"...!" Mu Beiting’s face, which wasn’t that ugly a mont ago, imdiately darkened. He took Ye Anxin’s hand and started walking upstairs without a word.
Qin Muyao wanted to follow, but heard Mu Beiting without turning his head say, "Get lost, don’t follow again, or I’ll be impolite to you!"
Upon Mu Beiting’s threat, Qin Muyao indeed didn’t dare to follow them any longer, only able to stand at the top of the stairs, watching them disappear from her sight.
After they climbed the stairs, Ye Anxin glanced at the man beside her and found that he still wore a sullen expression. She knew he was still angry about the earlier misunderstanding from Qin Muyao calling him uncle! She quickly withdrew her tightly held hand and wrapped it around his arm, gently shaking it, squinting her eyes and smiling, "Still angry? That Miss Qin didn’t do it on purpose, please don’t be mad!"
Mu Beiting snorted coldly, turning his head away, still too angry to look at her.
"Oh dear! Uncle, why are you being so serious? We don’t know Miss Qin, and we won’t have any dealings with her in the future, so even if she misunderstands, it doesn’t matter! Anyway, I know, you are my dearest husband, aren’t you!" With that, she tiptoed over, disregarding the crowded surroundings, and gave Mu Beiting a quick peck on the cheek.
This trick never failed for her!
As expected, Mu Beiting’s expression finally softened, and the corners of his mouth lifted into a pleasant arc.
Knowing he was no longer angry, Ye Anxin breathed a sigh of relief, smiled, and said softly, "You’re not angry anymore, right?"
Mu Beiting, trying to look serious, imdiately put on a straight face, "It depends on your performance!"
"Alright, alright! I will definitely perform well. You are my husband, not my uncle!" Ye Anxin knew that uncle liked it when she called him husband.
But she was so used to calling him uncle it was hard to change!
Besides, the term husband was too common; calling it occasionally could spice up the marital mood, but if used all the ti, it would lose its special aning!
