--- Kat ---
Kat wasn’t sure what she’d expected when Lily decided to start trying to open the door. What she got was a giant silvery crowbar made out of shadows. The faint glow around it drew the eye in an odd way that made it seem like you could gaze into it forever and Lily simply jamd the thing into the glass. It didn’t shatter, or bounce the crowbar off. Instead, half of it vanished into nothing. This seed to panic the guards inside at least sowhat, and a quick piercing sound rang out over the compound in two short burst.
Soone didn’t wait long, because shortly after that Kat heard the sound of glass shattering and turned to find soone flying over towards her using magical fire as rocket propellent. They were making their way straight for the greenhouse, fist pulled back and making it look like they were ready slam a haymaker into soone. Kat’s eyes narrowed when she noticed that ’soone’ in question was clearly ant to be Lily.
Kat moved to the side, ensuring she was standing in front of her girlfriend, and the fiery guard didn’t slow down, in fact, a few monts before impact they upped their speed once again. Shooting forward in a way that would’ve probably been a guaranteed hit on a Rank 2, maybe 3. For Kat, it was exceptionally telegraphed and she’d been ready for sothing like this. In her slowed personal ti, Kat raised her crossed arms in front of the punch and braced herself.
The fist slamd into her arms and sent her flying. Kat had to flip herself in mid air to prevent from crashing into Lily. Even if the punch did minimal damage, she’d forgotten about the physics of the situation. This wasn’t a magical spell that looked like a punch. This was soone punching her with a good deal of personal strength and speed behind it. Kat might’ve been heavier then a human, but she still wasn’t that heavy.
Lily was too distracted with the space lock to react and Kat needed to get back into the fight quickly. Flaring her wings she flipped around and zood back into the fight as fast as she could. The man seed to need so ti to recover. His fire had run out on impact, and he’d needed to land before anything else.
Now that he was closer, Kat could see him properly. He was wearing a long flowing red cape with fire stitching along the bottom made of golden thread. His legs were covered in a reddish brown leather that was also applied to his arms. His torso had a tal base and seed to be a mix of the red and gold from the cloak, with small flas hidden in etchings and golden looking filigree around the edges. They were glowing though, so Kat assud it wasn’t actually gold and instead sothing to hold more enchantnts.
His helt left the entirety of his mouth exposed, presumable for his next attack. Hot fire spilled forth from his mouth in a wave, heading right towards Lily who was still working behind her. Kat could tell her girlfriend had enough presence of mind to realise there was a fight, but taking a mont to investigate what was going on... Lily was essentially holding the space in place in about three or four different ways with that crowbar and stopping to block would be bad for EVERYONE. It was working, sort of, but it was dangerous.
Kat almost wanted to pull Lily away and just hope the basent Appoline was probably in ended up intact. The main issue with that, was that Kat didn’t know if she could get away in ti. So instead she simply slamd down into the ground in front of the fire and flexed her wings in front of her, creating a ramp to force the fire upwards and hopefully keeping it far enough away from Lily that she’d be fine.
Based on the lack of pain coming from the link, Kat thought Lily was fine... but the fire kept coming. She’d expected it to be a quick few seconds thing but the fire continued to rage for ten, twenty, thirty seconds before Kat started to worry. Throwing her own fire out from her wings was awkward but Rank 4 demonic fire was a lot stronger then this. It took to Kat’s order with glee as if it was trying to prove itself. Devouring the other fire along the way.
Kat stood up to find that despite the stream of fire continuing the guard had vanished. She looked around, ensuring that she looked up as well and was rewarded for her efforts. The bastard was trying to slam down onto Lily, similar to how he arrived originally. Sadly for him, he’d spent too long climbing into the air to build speed.
Wished she wasn’t quite as limited in strength as she kicked off the ground to et him. The two got closer and closer, the guard with his arm cocked back and ready while Kat looked to be matching him. A few monts before contact, he sped up once again. Kat had been waiting for it. Just before their fists collided Kat swung her leg around, slamming into the guard’s chest and knocking him off to the side instead of eting the punch head on. Kat was sure that would’ve just ant she’d hit Lily herself.
The guard folded around the kick, forcing his feet sowhat of course which was enough to throw everything out of whack. The fire didn’t imdiately turn off on impact this ti and instead, the slight bend of his legs and feet now sent him careening off sideways while the winding from the kick to the stomach left him too stunned to fix things imdiately. Sure the armour was good, but Kat found that it wasn’t fitted properly and she was able to essentially kick the armour into his stomach. Not fun.
Kat floated back down to the ground, looking around for any follow-up attacks but the fire guard was still flying away. He’d barely managed to not hit the ground but this ant he was carried further away. On the other side of things, nobody else seed to have left the main house or the other greenhouses to co and attack them. Not yet at least. Lily what’s the progress.
[I could maybe open it right now. I’ve got the... hook? Look this is hard to explain and I don’t have ti for a longer one. Just accept I’m being as correct as I can in English. I’ve essentially managed to hook the crowbar around the correct bit of space and I can rip it open but it’s not going to stay that way. It will currently slam shut on is afterwards and I don’t want to be potentially trapped inside. Worse, if I rip it open currently we might only have sothing like five minutes to get Appoline before the space all destabilises anyway. I’m trying to be safer then that.]
*ntion that part first next ti!* Kat hissed ntally as her focus was forced back to the guard. He’d managed to loop back around and was charging in, fist extended once again. Kat wasn’t sure what the best way to deal with him was. Surely she couldn’t just use the sa sort of trick she had the previous two tis?
Kat strode forward a few paces to ensure that even if she was pushed back she could manoeuvre around Lily. Kat was ready for the guard, and caught the speed up. This ti, she decided to throw the guard into the ground if possible. Kat made it look like she was favouring one leg and gearing up for a kick when the speed up started. As his first lashed out, Kat let her leg drop out from under her as she pulled the guard around with her arm, forcing him into the ground.
This proved to be weird. As her hand wrapped around him, he cut off his fire. There was still plenty of montum for Kat to slam him into the ground, but he started to realise a thin stream of fire from his mouth, interrupting the throw and pulling Kat upwards at the ti. The flas coated her back and wings to minimal effect but Kat was struggling to simply pull him downwards now there was such an awkward angle involved.
The guard tried to twist out of her hold, an attempt at forcing her arm around in ways it probably shouldn’t bend, but Kat’s strength was only supressed not completely gone. Her muscles and ligants managed to stand up to the strain as she brought her other hand round and slamd it into his face, cutting off the stream of fire. This also let her slam him into the ground, though with a lot less force then she’d originally intended. His head was now sowhat imbedded into the dirt and Kat was debated if she needed to do a bit more damage to him to ensure he was unconscious.
