Upon closer inspection, the twisted and broken marks on the edges looked more like…
"So kind of animal's teeth marks?" Tim tentatively suggested.
This size, this distance… could it be a rat?
Tim took multi-angle photos of the human ear and collected any residual DNA from the wound for analysis.
Half an hour later, the analysis report was complete.
Tim held the printed papers, his expression growing more solemn with each look.
"B, co look at this."
The computer analysis results showed that the animal most consistent with the tooth marks was a carnivorous bat native to Latin Arica.
Bruce took the report, quickly scanned it, and folded the printed papers symtrically.
"And the owner of the ear? Does the computer have his DNA record?"
Tim shook his head regretfully.
"No DNA record for the ear, and no relevant data for Theodore either—I compared Theodore's photo and 3D model, and he hasn't appeared in Gotham's surveillance records for at least five years."
The computer did provide many surveillance images with similar appearances.
Tim judged each one, confirming that none of them were Theodore.
Among them, the person the computer deed most similar was actually Daily Planet reporter Clark Kent, who had co to interview Wayne CEO—the similarity between them was as high as 63%.
But this didn't explain the problem.
As handso n with black hair and blue eyes, according to AI judgnt, Bruce and Superman also had a 54% similarity.
Nightwing was even higher, at 57%.
Tim frowned, pressed a computer key, and played the Arkham surveillance footage from that day.
"Half an hour before Theodore appeared, the surveillance went blank. It's been confird as a physical hardware issue, and Arkham staff perford ergency repairs."
"Half an hour later, surveillance resud. From that point, Theodore was already lying there."
Tim pursed his lips and looked at Batman: "Bruce, do you think…"
This boy, with a blank past, holding a human ear with bat teeth marks, suddenly appeared at the entrance of Arkham Asylum.
He seed like an obvious trap, yet also like an invitation full of mysteries.
In the surveillance, Theodore's eyes were tightly closed, and he was unconscious.
But his re existence seed to challenge Batman from afar.
—Gotham City had a new riddle.
—So, Batman, will you accept the invitation?
Batman contemplated the surveillance for a while, then dragged the progress bar back to the beginning, played a few tens of seconds, and pressed pause.
"Here, the guards decided to call the police; that's normal."
"But after calling the police, why didn't they write this incident in the day's incident log?"
If it were just one guard being lazy, it could be understood.
But out of the four guards, two were Batman's informants.
And Batman had not received any related information beforehand, which was very unusual.
Were they bribed?
Were they under a spell?
Or was there a larger conspiracy hidden behind it?
Finally, Batman made the decisive call.
"I will go to Green Orphanage and see."
He would see Theodore with his own eyes and then make his judgnt.
If Theodore was an innocent caught up in the event, Batman would protect him.
If Theodore was coerced and there was another conspiracy behind him, Batman would investigate him.
If Theodore held a secret but posed little threat, Batman would continue to monitor him.
Recalling this, Tim couldn't help but hug his pillow and roll over.
He hadn't considered another possibility at the ti:
That is, if Theodore was innocent, kind, held a secret, and also exhibited high instability, Batman would adopt him!
It's hilarious, life is like a box of chocolates; scratch off the ticket on the box, and every day you have a chance to get a new brother.
Rolling over again, Tim sprawled out on his two-ter-wide bed.
It's over, I can't sleep.
Do you know how frustrating it is for a detective to have a mystery right under his nose but not be able to solve it imdiately?
