Huo Jinnan handed Che Huan a towel.
Che Huan wiped the cupboard, table, and windowsill.
Huo Jinnan cleaned up the broken lamp and then vacuud the room. He looked up casually at Che Huan, "Take a shower?"
In his room?
Che Huan shook her head.
Huo Jinnan replaced the sheets and duvet cover on the bed with a new set from the wardrobe.
Che Huan went over to help. They put on the duvet cover together, spread the sheets out, and changed the pillowcases.
From start to finish, their cooperation was rare and silent.
Once the room was tidied up, half an hour had passed and a sudden knocking sound ca from the door.
Che Huan instantly tensed up all over, sitting there stiffly, anxiously looking toward the door. After waiting a long ti without seeing Huo Jinnan react, she glanced at him and signaled with her eyes that soone was knocking.
Huo Jinnan glanced at Che Huan, seemingly oblivious to the knocking.
At that mont, Gu Yunqing’s voice ca from outside, "Jinnan, are you there?"
Che Huan stood up and quickly hid in the bathroom.
Huo Jinnan looked at her with an unpleasant expression on his face. After sitting for a while, he forcefully pulled the door open and looked at Gu Yunqing, whose makeup was ticulously done, and slled the perfu, dark coldness brewing in his gaze, "What is it?"
Gu Yunqing rembered Jizhou sending a text that he ca up to rest, so she deliberately used so perfu with special effects, touched up her makeup, and made sure she was flawless before knocking on the door. She spoke in a soft and delicate voice, "I heard you went upstairs. I ca to help you tidy your room."
Huo Jinnan stood at the door, showing no intention of letting her in, his gaze cold as he looked at Gu Yunqing, "It’s already been taken care of."
As he was about to close the door, Gu Yunqing suddenly mustered the courage to throw herself into Huo Jinnan’s arms, "Brother Jinnan, do you know how much I love you? I..."
The next second, Huo Jinnan sidestepped to one side.
Che Huan, in the bathroom, heard a loud "bang" as if sothing heavy had hit the floor, followed by a woman’s scream. Curious, she wondered what had happened.
Before she could collect her thoughts, another scream, mixed with the roar of the team leader, echoed, and soon, she heard the door close.
A few minutes later, faint crying sounds could be heard from outside the door.
After a few more minutes of silence, Che Huan ca out of the bathroom and glanced at Huo Jinnan—his expression was terrible, wearing only a shirt!
Huo Jinnan loosened his tie and threw it onto the bed, his long fingers undoing the top two buttons of his shirt.
In the trash bin next to him, there was a suit— the one he had just been wearing!
Huo Jinnan also casually threw his shirt into the bin and picked up his phone, "Huo Bei, buy a new suit from nearby and bring it over."
As soon as he finished speaking, he tossed the phone on the bed, reached out to seize Che Huan’s chin, and turned her face toward him, "Stay here, don’t make a sound, and don’t open the door for anyone."
Che Huan’s breath hitched, "Understood."
Huo Jinnan’s eyes stared deeply at Che Huan for a mont before he let go and entered the bathroom.
