Che Huan listened by the side, her brows unconsciously furrowed.
As soon as Huo Jinnan hung up the phone, she glanced at him sideways, rembering the words he had said in the hospital before, as well as the words Aunt Zhong had said to her. Guessing sothing, she no longer ntioned Miss Fang, and gently touched the sleeve of his arm.
Huo Jinnan glanced at her and, feeling her concern, made another call to Huo Bei, "Keep a close eye on Fang Tong recently."
After hanging up, he tossed the phone aside, grasped Che Huan’s hand with his large palm, and placed it on his trousers while effortlessly steering the wheel with the other hand.
Che Huan looked up at him, "Isn’t it dangerous to drive like this?"
"It’s the first ti I’ve heard soone question my driving skills," Huo Jinnan said, glancing at Che Huan as he sped up.
Just then, the phone rang again.
Huo Jinnan answered, and after only a sentence, his eyes suddenly turned cold, like the frost of late autumn.
There was a silence before he spoke in a cold tone, "Call again if there is any situation."
He hung up, threw the phone aside, and his lips were tightly pressed together.
Che Huan couldn’t help but ask, "What’s wrong?"
Seeing a red light up ahead, Huo Jinnan stopped the car, turned to look at Che Huan with slightly lowered eyes, and rubbed her fingers roughly with his rough fingertips, "Soone wants to steal your husband."
"A husband who can be stolen isn’t really a husband, right?"
Che Huan raised her eyes to look at Huo Jinnan, her eyes clear and bright.
Huo Jinnan moved his hand away, resting it on her cheek, "You have a point."
Che Huan’s face flushed with redness. Was it Miss Fang again? Or was it Yu Zimu’s call?
Huo Jinnan, without any intention of elaboration, glanced at the indicator light with furrowed brows and saw that the red light was blinking and turning green, and soon he started the car.
Back at Nanyuan Villa, he had Rong Ma take Che Huan upstairs to rest while he stood in the entryway, not even changing his shoes.
Che Huan looked back at him, "Are you going out?"
"Hm, I have so things to handle."
Huo Jinnan raised a hand to tidy the wisps of hair by her temple, "Wait for at ho, we’ll have dinner together tonight."
Che Huan humd affirmatively, went up to the second floor, and stood on the balcony. She saw him get into the car and quickly drive away. Her gaze lingered in the direction the car had gone for a long ti before she shifted her gaze.

Huo Jinnan arrived at Yunshang, enveloped by a chilling aura.
He entered the private room and sat opposite Qin Shaonan, lifting his gaze to ask, "When did this happen?"
Qin Shaonan, head lowered towards the ashtray, was fiddling with a half-smoked cigarette between his fingers, "I just got the news. She has already t my grandparents, and things have been settled. I have no reason nor the ability to stop it. The next move might be my third uncle’s turn. You better be prepared."
Huo Jinnan sat there silently, fixedly staring at the cigarette stub between Qin Shaonan’s fingers.
"I’ll inform you as soon as there’s any news," Qin Shaonan said as he looked up at Huo Jinnan. "But you know what my condition is."
Huo Jinnan humd in acknowledgnt and lit a cigarette, taking a drag.
There was a folder next to Qin Shaonan.
He glanced at it and pushed it over to Huo Jinnan.
Huo Jinnan took it, briefly scanned it, put it to one side without saying thanks, stood up, and straightened his tie, "I’m leaving first."
Qin Shaonan watched him leave, wondering how he would respond if his third uncle indeed made a move towards Huo Jinnan.
Yet, Huo Jinyun really was a thorny opponent!
