Qin Moting was clearly surprised as he looked at Huo Jinnan.
Huo Jinnan asked the server to bring a bottle of red wine. He poured half a glass for Che Huan, then filled a glass for Qin Moting. "Mr. Qin, today we will only talk about personal matters."
Seeing Huo Jinnan pour for him, Qin Moting raised his goblet, "Thank you, President Huo and Miss Che, for inviting to dinner today."
The three of them clinked glasses.
Che Huan thought about the mischief she had caused when she was drunk that day. She only sipped lightly, took a small sip, and then set down her goblet, sitting there quietly watching the two n talk.
With a swift glance, Huo Jinnan noticed that she wasn’t overwheld by the situation nor greedy for more drinks. That day, she must have only gone to the bar to drink heavily because she was in a bad mood.
His slender fingers clutching the goblet, he rubbed the base of the glass and looked up at Qin Moting, "Today is just to especially thank Mr. Qin for helping Huanhuan last ti."
Help her?
Che Huan sat there sowhat confused, frowning as she looked towards Huo Jinnan.
Huo Jinnan’s eyes grew deeper in color. He couldn’t believe that Qin Moting had helped her so much, and she still didn’t know who he was?
Actually, this would be easy to investigate. But concerning her, he didn’t want to delve deeper in such a manner.
With a subtle gesture towards Qin Moting, and after another sip of red wine, he placed the goblet back on the table. Picking up a white towel next to him, he wiped his hands and raised his eyes to Qin Moting, "You an to say, Mr. Qin, you do good deeds without leaving a na?"
"It’s just a small matter, not worth ntioning," Qin Moting said, taking a sip of red wine with an impassive expression.
Huo Jinnan couldn’t discern much, his gaze falling on Che Huan, "Huanhuan, the mysterious person who helped you settle the agreent last ti is this Mr. Qin."
Surprised though she was, Che Huan still raised her goblet, "Thank you, Mr. Qin."
She looked intently at Qin Moting, carefully sizing him up. She hadn’t expected that the person her mother had told her to call for help would be this Uncle Qin!
So, what was the relationship between him and her mother?
After a mont of hesitation, Che Huan asked with a smile, "Is Mr. Qin an old acquaintance of my mother?"
"One might call it that."
Thinking of the information he had gathered, that he and Wen Ru attended the sa university and were in the sa major, they should know each other.
Yet, apart from that one eting, he had no other mories of Wen Ru.
Qin Moting felt a headache coming on and lifted his hand, habitually pressing the temple.
Huo Jinnan sat on the side, observing Qin Moting, "Is Mr. Qin not feeling well?"
"It’s nothing, just an old problem. I get a headache when I drink," Qin Moting said with a light smile, rubbing his temples with a clear voice.
Che Huan sat there, reflecting carefully. The voice over the phone and his voice in person really were quite different. That day when she went to the coffee shop to et Qin Shaojin, she had not recognized that Mr. Qin was the man on the phone.
Just with a phone call and a sentence, "I am Wen Ru’s daughter," he had helped her so much; evidently, it wasn’t an ordinary relationship.
Considering his age, he must be about the sa age as her mother, close to fifty, yet because of his good skin and fashion sense, his refined eyes and brows, and his outstanding deanor, he looked particularly youthful, no more than just past forty, the age when a man is in his pri.
If there really had been sothing between him and her mother, it’s no wonder her mother had always been lukewarm towards her stepfather.
Her stepfather, compared to the Uncle Qin in front of her, was worlds apart.
But then, it seed like her mother was reluctant to contact him...
Sothing must have happened between the two of them. However, when her mother married her stepfather, she already had her, so could this Uncle Qin possibly be her biological father?
Thinking of Qin Shaojin’s suggestion to change her na to Qin Huan, Che Huan looked at Qin Moting, "May I know if it was Mr. Qin’s suggestion to have Lawyer Qin change my na for ?"
