"What’s wrong with you?"
Che Huan walked over, asking with concern.
Huo Jinnan rested his injured arm to one side. "I’m feeling uncomfortable, take a look for ."
Che Huan’s eyebrows furrowed as she gently removed the adhesive tape and lifted the gauze to look at his muscular arm. The original bruises and redness had faded a lot, seeming much better. Why would it suddenly feel uncomfortable?
Her fingers touched it, pressing lightly. "Does it hurt?"
"Can’t you be a bit gentler?"
Huo Jinnan’s brows knitted together, and his other hand reached to the back of her head, his long fingers threading through her hair as he fixed his gaze on Che Huan.
That day at Wen Ru’s wedding, soone had borrowed Che Huan’s cellphone.
He had seen it by chance, and had also noticed the person’s actions. They had placed a bug on her phone.
After returning, he had tinkered with her phone, filtering and sending so of the insignificant call content to the other side, intercepting all the important ones.
He hadn’t expected to overhear the scene from before, and she actually hadn’t objected. Was she really planning to stay sowhere else by herself after being upset with him in the future?
At this mont, he liked Qin Moting even less.
Watching Che Huan carefully examine the wound, his fingers tightened forcefully.
Che Huan looked up at him. "Was that still too hard?"
Huo Jinnan said softly, "No, call Rong Ma so she can bring dicine up. You can help apply it again."
Che Huan smiled. "I can go down and get it."
Huo Jinnan didn’t let go, his eyes intensely deep.
Che Huan paused, then picked up the phone to dial the first floor’s landline.
Huo Jinnan didn’t filter this call out and sent it along with the previous one.
After a while, there was a knock at the door. Huo Jinnan finally let go, his long fingers slipping away involuntarily.
Che Huan, seeing Huo Jinnan’s unusual behavior, was unsure of what suddenly ca over him. Thinking he might have encountered so trouble at work, she didn’t say much and stood up to open the door.
Returning with the dical box, she opened it, drew a cotton swab, dipped it in iodine, and gently applied it to his wound.
Huo Jinnan watched her actions, zoning out for a long ti.
After a while, Che Huan dressed his wound with fresh gauze, one hand holding scissors to cut the dical tape.
Huo Jinnan looked up. "Xiaowei will be starting school soon; you’ll be bored alone at ho. Do you want to do sothing? How about taking up a random position at Yu Zimu’s place?"
Che Huan shook her head. "No!"
"Hmm?"
Huo Jinnan looked at Che Huan in confusion.
Che Huan thought of how she hadn’t finished her university studies before taking leave. "I want to continue and finish my degree, and then move up."
After speaking, she looked up at Huo Jinnan’s expression.
Huo Jinnan asked expressionlessly, "Go for a master’s degree?"
Che Huan bit her lip, unable to tell if he supported the idea or not. "Yes."
Huo Jinnan lifted his other hand to undo the third button of his shirt. "Are you also considering a Ph.D.?"
Che Huan smiled sweetly. "No, I don’t want to beco an Iron Lady just yet."
Huo Jinnan’s lips tightened. "We can talk about that later. Can you still continue after taking such a long break?"
Che Huan tugged at his sleeve, looking at him coquettishly. "Husband—"
"I’ll have Huo Bei inquire about it."
Huo Jinnan looked down, continuing his own task.
Che Huan glanced at Huo Jinnan, reassured that he seed not to be unhappy, and went to take a shower.
Once she was in the bathroom, Huo Jinnan closed his laptop, pushed it aside, and called Rong Ma. "Give the lady a folic acid pill every day from now on, but don’t let her know."
