As she slled a familiar body scent, her eyes snapped open and she saw Mr. Huo. She awoke abruptly from her dream, breaking into a cold sweat. She ran her hands through her hair, rubbing forcefully. Why would she have that kind of dream, and why was it him in the dream again!
With her face flushed, Che Huan went to the bathroom, washed her face, opened the window, and stood there. She let the cool night breeze blow on her face for a while before she started to feel a bit better as the hot flashes slowly subsided.
She went back to her bedroom, tossing and turning, struggling to fall asleep all night.
She got up, found a thermoter in the living room to check her temperature: 37.1 degrees, a bit high. She quickly found so fever-reducing dicine, took a large dose, and lay back in bed. Only with the help of the dicine did she manage to fall asleep.
The next day, Che Huan got out of bed with dark circles under her eyes. After taking her temperature, she found it had gone down, and she didn’t feel as horrible as last night.
Her phone rang.
Seeing it was Qiao Qiao, she answered and heard Qiao Qiao’s voice.
"Huanhuan, Little Demon has been looking for you everywhere these past couple of days. He nearly blew up my phone and has worn out the doorstep of the nurse’s station."
"Uh..."
Che Huan rubbed her hair in confusion, unsure of what to say.
Qiao Qiao asked with concern, "Why couldn’t we reach you on the phone, and you weren’t at ho either? Where did you go? We were so worried."
Not wanting to scare Qiao Qiao, Che Huan didn’t ntion the incidents with the two delinquents and the police station. "I had so things to take care of."
——"Don’t tell it was Gu Jizhou giving you a hard ti again."
Che Huan shook her head, "No."
Qiao Qiao noticed sothing off in Che Huan’s voice, "You don’t sound right. What’s wrong?"
Che Huan asked seriously, "Really?"
"Alright, I’m off today. I’ll co to see you in a bit."
After hanging up, Qiao Qiao saw a red light ahead and sharply applied the brakes.
Half an hour later, she arrived at Che Huan’s place. Seeing Che Huan’s wan appearance, she expressed her worry, "What’s with those panda eyes?"
Che Huan frowned, "Is it that obvious?"
Qiao Qiao pulled her to a mirror and said, "See for yourself."
Upon looking, Che Huan did indeed have heavy dark circles. She closed her eyes, and the thought of last night’s dream brought a flush of embarrassnt. He was Gu Jizhou’s uncle; how could she have dread of him!
She really didn’t harbor those kinds of feelings. Maybe it was because of the consecutive incidents yesterday?
Thinking this, she truly wanted to give the commander a good thrashing. The commander was always so perceptive; he must have done it on purpose!
Suddenly, her phone rang.
Qiao Qiao glanced at it and teased, "Oh, got a new phone? Weren’t you just borrowing money from the other day? Suddenly struck it rich?"
Che Huan just picked up the phone, but at Qiao Qiao’s comnt, her grip faltered and the phone nearly dropped to the floor. She hastily caught it, "You scared to death."
Qiao Qiao laughed, "Having an affair, clearly guilty conscience. Co on, who gave it to you?"
Seeing the number on the screen and vaguely rembering it to be like Lawyer Qin’s, Che Huan hushed Qiao Qiao and answered the phone, "Lawyer Qin?"
Qin Shaojin glanced at Huo Jinnan lying on the couch watching the NBA, "Do you have ti now? Co over to my apartnt. There are so things I want to confirm with you again."
Che Huan glanced at the ti, "Right now?"
"Yes, I’ll send the driver to pick you up from your place. That’s it."
Before Che Huan could refuse, the call had ended!
She looked at her phone, wondering if all these n of status and power liked to hang up on other people’s calls.
Curiously, Qiao Qiao watched Che Huan, "Lawyer Qin, Lawyer Qin, what Lawyer Qin? It’s not that man from last ti, is it?"
