Returning to Nanyuan Villa, Wen Hua, Bi Fu, and Wen Nuan had arrived.
Nuannuan saw Qin Huan enter, "Sister Huanhuan, you’re finally back."
Qin Huan looked at Wen Hua and Bi Fu, "Uncle, Auntie, how long have you been here? Why didn’t you call?"
Wen Hua looked at Qin Huan, "It hasn’t been long."
Bi Fu smiled, "I just had a few words with your mother-in-law, and figured you would be back soon, so I didn’t call."
Qin Huan sat down beside Bi Fu and chatted with the four of them, including Wen Nuan.
Huo Jinnan and Wen Hua went to the side, the two of them talked about current politics for a while, and ntioned the new mayor.
Huo Jinnan, thinking that Wen Hua was at the municipal governnt, asked, "Uncle, have you t the mayor in person?"
Wen Hua shook his head, "This Mayor Jin is mysterious, only a few in the city governnt have actually seen him in person."
Huo Jinnan casually nodded, "Indeed, a bit too mysterious."
Wen Hua looked towards Huo Jinnan, "However, the new mayor’s press conference is coming up. Sooner or later, we’ll see his true face."
Huo Jinnan wasn’t smoking but picked up a cherry from the fruit plate, ate one, and pinched the pit between his fingers, "Uncle, when is it?"
Wen Hua, "On the 15th of October. Haven’t they invited you?"
"I haven’t received an invitation."
Huo Jinnan sat there, tossing the cherry pit into the ashtray, his eyes deepening a bit.
Wen Hua nodded and didn’t say more. Turning his head, he saw Zhong Qin and Qin Huan looking at them as if listening to their conversation, "Huanhuan is also interested in politics now?"
Qin Huan smiled and shook her head, looking at Zhong Qin, "Mom."
Zhong Qin snapped back to reality, thinking about the mooncakes she had received and the ones Anan had delivered, her expression becoming blank.
Anan said that indeed the mayor had sent mooncakes to every household, all the sa, yet she felt they were different!
Anan said it was a coincidence!
But she didn’t believe it!
Then thinking about how Anan had taken her to a mooncake shop to see indeed identical mooncakes to those the mayor brought, even the taste was the sa, her eyes dimd a lot.
Qin Huan observed the changes in Zhong Qin’s mood, thinking of her similar experiences, silently squeezed her hand.
Zhong Qin felt the warmth on her hand, looked at Qin Huan, "Huanhuan, Mom’s okay."
Bi Fu and Wen Nuan watched, also uncertain of what was happening, not sure what to ask.
Qin Huan turned to Wen Nuan, "Is schoolwork heavy recently?"
Wen Nuan nodded, "It’s all right. Sister Huanhuan, you know I’m lazy."
Bi Fu poked Wen Nuan’s head, "Not ashad but rather proud, huh?"
Wen Nuan smiled, holding Qin Huan’s arm, thought of the mysterious teacher who didn’t show up for case analysis on Friday, as it was canceled, "Our school recently got a particularly tasteless distinguished professor."
Huo Jinnan, hearing this, recorded Wen Nuan’s words and sent them to Qin Shaojin.
Qin Shaojin, pressing the bridge of his nose after hearing the words, was tied up with negotiations at the prosecutor’s office regarding Huo Jinyun’s case on Friday, which he missed. Unexpectedly in her mouth, he was labeled tasteless!
The negotiations were settled, since it involved a case from over twenty years ago, Huo Jinyun’s case would be significantly postponed. Gu Jizhou’s case would be in court next Wednesday.
Next Friday, he would have ti to substitute teach.
"Brother Huo, I need to get busy."
"Okay."
Huo Jinnan hung up the phone, thinking of Gu Jizhou’s case, where Jizhou’s defense lawyer had requested a closed trial, and now the online public opinion was in an uproar, so even @’ing the mayor of Hong Kong’s Weibo.
