Back when Chen Jie’s family was staying at the Bai Family’s house, they lived together for several days.

Doctor Bai’s family really liked Ruirui, and even Wu Hong was very fond of the little girl. He had been planning to visit Chen Jie’s family in a few days. But now, Ruirui was missing.

Thinking of this, Wu Hong asked, "How did she go missing."

"Yunjin said he just turned around to pay for sothing, and when he looked back, Ruirui was gone!"

Wu Hong, hearing this, replied, "What do you think happened?"

"I’ve mobilized hundreds of people from the Fishing Guild to search. If she had just wandered off, we should have found her by now. But there’s no trace, no clue at all. I suspect she might have been taken by child snatchers!"

Wu Hong said, "Hmm, co with ."

With that, Wu Hong walked with Chen Jie toward the detention cells at the County Governnt.

Seeing this, the guards posted nearby were stunned: "Hey, why is Mr. Hong bringing him to the detention cells? Aren’t outsiders prohibited from entering there?"

As they talked, it was obvious to anyone that Wu Hong was well aware that it was against regulations to bring Chen Jie into the cells.

He knew all too well!

*But under the current circumstances, he couldn’t be bothered by rules anymore. Inside, Wu Hong felt deeply conflicted, torn between his unwavering sense of justice and his deep love for his family.*

*He considered all gang mbers scum, filth that needed to be eradicated, but when it ca to his family, it was an entirely different matter.*

*Even Chen Jiusi, he counted among those he considered family.*

*As he often said, gang mbers deserved death—but family was the exception.*

Soon, he brought Chen Jie into the detention cells.

Inside, two governnt officials were interrogating two child snatchers who had been tied up to a wooden fra.

Seeing Wu Hong enter, the two officials imdiately greeted him, "Mr. Hong!"

Wu Hong was a disciple of Chief Zhang Liye, one of the Thirteen Grand Protectors, and the third most powerful individual in the governnt office structure.

The hierarchy was as follows: the County Magistrate was first, the ceremony officer second, and Zhang Liye third.

Because of Zhang Liye’s unmatched martial skills, even the magistrate showed him a degree of deference. As Zhang Liye’s disciple, Wu Hong held the rank of captain within the fast class under the governnt office’s structure.

The governnt was divided into three classes: "fast," "strong," and "black."

Zhang Liye, as Chief Constable, oversaw all three classes, while Wu Hong served as the leader of the fast class.

His role included overseeing arrests and apprehending dangerous criminals.

"Have you gotten anything out of them yet?"

Wu Hong asked.

Hearing the question, one official replied, "No, they’ve been stubborn as hell."

At this point, Wu Hong glanced at so clothes taken off the suspects, hanging to the side of the fra. He noticed how oversized the clothes were, especially the hems.

Wu Hong examined the clothes and said, "Birdcage."

The term "birdcage" referred to a specific piece of equipnt used by child snatchers. When abducting children, they’d use sedatives to cover the child’s mouth until they passed out. Then, they’d bundle the child in these oversized clothes. From the outside, nothing would seem amiss, allowing the abductors to escape unnoticed.

It was like using a birdcage to trap a golden songbird inside.

"You’ve already got this kind of gear, and you’re still denying it?"

"What birdcage? I’ve never seen one!" the man shouted angrily at Wu Hong.

Wu Hong chuckled, "Alright, very stubborn. You two can leave now."

The two officials exchanged glances, clearly surprised. Mr. Hong had never interrogated prisoners privately before—what was he planning to do today?

"Yes, sir."

Though startled, orders from a superior had to be followed. Without so much as a word, they turned and exited the cell.

Wu Hong closed the cell door behind them. Then, looking at the two child snatchers, he said, "Alright, everyone’s gone now. Let get straight to the point. My little sister was abducted by you people. You should know that normally, when I deal with you, it’s business as usual. Maybe soone out there would even protect you, and you’d get off scot-free. But this ti, it’s personal. If you don’t tell where the batch of children you kidnapped is being held, you’d better prepare for the consequences!"

Upon hearing this, the n stuck to their story, "We don’t know anything! We didn’t do anything!"

Wu Hong responded, "Fine. Don’t say I didn’t warn you."

As he spoke, he gently grabbed one man’s arm and twisted it lightly. A sickening crack echoed through the room.

The man scread like a slaughtered pig, "Ahhh...!"

Wu Hong imdiately went for the other arm. In a manner akin to dismantling a toy, he dislocated every joint, twisting until the arm dangled lifelessly, flopping like a bamboo stick.

Next, Wu Hong grabbed his hand and said coldly, "Are you going to talk or not?"

"You... go ahead and kill ! I don’t know anything! We’re just ordinary civilians; we didn’t—ahhh..."

This ti, Wu Hong gripped the man’s fingers, dislocating each individual joint, thodically working down to the bones. The man wailed, crying out in agony.

*The pain was one thing, but the sheer terror of feeling his entire skeleton dismantled piece by piece was far worse than the physical suffering itself.*

Wu Hong said, "Allow to introduce myself. I am Wu Hong, disciple of Chief Constable Zhang Liye. As for Chief Zhang, I’m sure I don’t need to explain his reputation. I’ve learned a fraction of his skills, which happen to include mastering the art of Bone Dislocation."

"Take soone like you, for instance. I could dislocate all 206 of your bones without killing you, leaving you nothing but a heap of limp flesh. You wouldn’t even be able to squirm like a maggot."

"And I wouldn’t let you die easily, either. I’d keep you alive long enough to watch yourself rot like a worm, rancid and decaying, until all that remains is a skeletal shell."

"Don’t believe ? Try . I don’t make idle threats."

Speaking in a voice as cold as ice, Wu Hong made his intentions clear to the child snatchers. His words left one of them trembling uncontrollably. He stared at the other man desperately, who seed on the brink of losing control of his bowels.

Chen Jie, too, was seeing this side of Wu Hong for the very first ti.
