"Rescue or not?" Anxiety and rage reddened Xiao Xian’s eyes.
"Want my help to save someone? Give up the Meteor Crystal," Mei Nian was no fool. This slippery girl before him was like an eel; he had been tricked by her once before. Wasn’t it time for him to learn from that mistake?

Now surrounded by people he dared not offend, the matter of the Feng Bird could no longer be concealed. All he could do was ask Aisha to help eliminate the witnesses.

In the garden, the crowd divided into two factions. Zhou Ziang, unaware of Aisha’s plot, was on guard and kept Xiao Xian protected behind him.

Even with your extraordinary talent, you’re doomed to achieve nothing in the path of cultivation," Mei Nian criticized, although deep inside, he was rather curious about Zhou Ziang’s lineage and mentor, given how ghost-like he had been in the air, rescuing someone as fast as lightning, and immediately assuming a negotiating stance after the rescue. Still, out of consideration for his status, he sought to regain some ground.
Xiao Xian had been silent since Zeng Xuerou was rescued. She hung her head low, staring at the weak and battered Zeng Xuerou. Her face and neck were a gruesome sight, scraped raw with deep triangular peck marks. Injuries from a Spiritual Bird like the Feng Bird were hard to heal, and for a girl, they could be devastating. Xiao Xian was filled with regret, utterly oblivious to Zhou Ziang and Mei Nian’s exchange.
Her hand grew cold when something was thrust into it. Looking down, she saw several narrow leaves, now cold and stiff, "I’ve infused them with Spiritual Energy, keep them for self-defense. Don’t argue with Senior Mei anymore; hold back your anger for now, and focus on staying alive," came Zhou Ziang’s advice along with the leaves.
Xiao Xian neither nodded nor shook her head; her downturned face offered no clue as to her thoughts.
