Countless mories flooded his mind as Jiang Huang’s gaze stayed glued to the sword. Next to the sword, he could see the silhouette of a middle-aged man who had deep blue hair like the night sky and an air of still tranquility.

Next to him, he was surrounded by a few disciples, seven of them to be exact, four young n and three young ladies, each with a matchless presence.

They were all crowding the sword, and not a mont sooner, another silhouette appeared. It was of a fourteen-year-old boy with short grey hair, simple features, short stature, slightly slender build, and slightly palish skin.

The young boy kept looking down, as he nervously tapped his fingers against one another.

His nervous actions elicited gentle laughs from the young n and won next to him.

"Little brother Jiang Huang, I keep telling you, you won’t find a dao partner if you keep getting flustered like that.."

"Who knows, he might. I know a few disciples from the sect who like a shy partner and seeing little brother Jiang Huang, I can see its charm.."

"Stop teasing him, you’re making him look even more embarrassed. Little brother, Ignore her. Master, would you like to do the honors? If you wait any further, I don’t know if Brother Jiang Huang will be able to handle it.." said one of the disciples as he ruffled the hair of the young boy.

"Mmh, Jiang Huang.."

"Yes, master.." said the young boy, mustering enough courage to look up, though try as he may, he couldn’t hide the look of expectation and anxiety he had, which drew light chuckles from the disciples around him.

"Congratulations on reaching the ergent level with the azure sword rain art. It’s quite the feat considering you’re still only in the qi refinent realm.

I had planned to give you this when you reached the foundation establishnt realm, but with the results you have shown, it’s better to hand it over to you now, so you can bond, nurture it, and grow together.

Here, Huang’er.." said the middle-aged man with a kind smile on his face, as he handed the shy boy the sword he held on his hands.

The boy with trepidation and excitent in his eyes reached out for the sword, his hands shaking as he did.

"May it guide you and help you deal with your troubles fluidly.." added the middle-aged man with warmth and kindness in his tone.

...

"Supre Elder Jiang Huang, Supre Elder Jiang Huang,.."

Jiang’s attention was pulled back as he heard a muffled voice call out to him. It sounded like he had been subrged in water and soone was calling out to him.

A few seconds later after the silhouettes disappeared one after the other, he could finally hear that voice clearly.

"Please have your sword back, Supre Elder Jiang Huang.."

Jiang Huang looked up. Only one silhouette remained, and it was that of the middle-aged man who looked to be monts from fading away.

His figure and Yang Qing’s seed to overlap perfectly as Yang Qing stretched his hand to hand him the sword. To Jiang Huang, it looked like he was receiving it from them both, simultaneously.

An overwhelming guilt filled his heart when he saw that sword, and the middle-aged man smiling at him. However, despite the guilt he felt, his body seed to have had a mind of its own as it moved forward and received the sword.

Just like it was all those years ago when he first received it, his hands were shaking, tears dripping from his eyes, and him too afraid to look up, and his body moving honestly to receive the sword.

The instant he made contact with the sword, he felt whole. He wasn’t the only one to react as the sword let out a soft hum as it vibrated slightly when Jiang Huang gently grabbed hold of its hilt.

"You’re ho.." Jiang Huang emotionally said as he sighed in relief. Feeling his sword’s resonating spirit gave him a sense of relief that he couldn’t quite put into words.

Artifacts, weapons, and treasures that were at the monarch grade and above, though precious, were the worst to target by thieves for several factors, which all boiled down to the spirit’s intent.

A treasure, artifact, or weapon with an awakened spirit ant it could think and act just like any living person, and decide what it wanted. This was what made stealing said artifacts, treasures, and weapons, that had owners or partners, such a troubleso affair because those artifacts, treasures, and weapons would not be taken easily, they almost always will fight back, and if they realize the fight is sothing they can’t win, so even choose the path of self-destruction.

Because of said reaction and risk, thieves and skilled looters devised a strategy when it ca to robbing treasures, artifacts, and or weapons that had owners. The optimal ti to do so was before they had fully ford their sentience, just when they were at the cusp of fully hatching.

At that stage, you could rob soone of their weapon without fear of retaliation or even if there was, the risk would be lowered. And after that, once it was in custody, one could employ various asures to brainwash the spirit and hijack and replace the bond it had with its owner, similar to how mory gu bugs were employed by so organizations to induce loyalty amongst so of their mbers, without necessarily having to foster it the normal way.

The sword spirit of Jiang Huang’s sword had been in that state, which is why he had assud his sword spirit had likely been hijacked. But now, against all odds, he could feel a trace of himself within the sword’s spirit It was just a sliver, but that sliver was more than enough to help it rember. All it would take was just ti, and the keeping of the sword with him at all tis to trigger the mories.

Wiping mories and supplanting them required astronomical resources, but restoring them was easy. He had already done the hard work in those hundreds of years that he had been nurturing it. That was his advantage.
