It wasn’t a surprise that the contract wasn’t very long. Because of the repercussions that ca with violating them or the power needed to enforce and bind them, contract terms tended to be short, concise, and as simple as can be, similar to what was before him.
The contract had a few clauses to it and they were all clear to even a child who had enough sense and wisdom to them.
..
The contract herein is overseen and implented by the Silver Vermilion Rose Pavilion on behalf of Fan Ha and the Starlight Lake Sect.
The terms of the contract are as follows;
Fan Ha, a sixth-stage palace realm expert, and a nine-heart deer has voluntarily given herself to serve as sect guardian for the Starlight Lake Sect for 23,000 years.
The Starlight Lake Sect has in turn agreed to support and provide all resources and accommodation suitable to support the cultivation of soone of her rank. Said support and resources are subject to the resources the Starlight Lake Sect has at hand in perpetuity for the duration of the agreent.
Both parties are not to calamitously endanger one another in the fulfillnt of the agreent, should one party endanger the other then the endangered party gains authority to alter the clause of the deal or terminate it altogether.
This agreent is thus held and overseen by the following mbers;
Shi Wei- Fourth Elder of the Silver Vermilion Rose, Controller and adjudicator of the contract
Fan Ha- Sixth stage palace realm, nine heart deer.
ng Jiayi- Fourth stage palace realm, Sect Master of the Starlight Lake Sect
In the absence of the sect master, in case of a violation of the contract, the following mbers are allowed to act in place of the sect master;
Long Zhaozu- Third stage palace realm, Vice sect master of the Starlight Lake Sect
Liu Jie- Third stage palace realm, Core Elder of the Starlight Lake Sect
Xie Yuan- Second stage palace realm, Core Elder of the Starlight Lake Sect,
....
That was it, nothing more, nothing less.
There were three signatures at the bottom, one was by Fan Ha, the other from Starlight Lake Sect Yang Qing assud was likely done by their sect master, but then again maybe it could have been the elder with whom Fan Ha had made a connection with to trigger her offer in the first place.
Yang Qing couldn’t accurately grasp the strength of the seal, other than it was strong in the water elent and the disparity in strength it had with the one he had analyzed to be Fan Ha’s because of the energy of the nine elents.
As for the seal belonging to the Silver Vermilion Rose, there was nothing he could glean from it. It was like a never-ending veil of obscurity had surrounded it. The only thing he could tell was the power within the contract seed to flow from it, down to even the paper.
Him not being able to tell was to be expected. Silver Vermilion Rose was a rank two rchant organization with a lot of history and was pretty prominent among their ranks. In terms of age and influence, it was older than the Golden Bamboo Pavilion and had a longer reach and influence around the continent too.
The reason they were so renowned was their history and the limitless array of goods and services they dealt in, one of which was contract agreents. Almost every single renowned rchant organization dabbled in contract agreents but the Silver Vermilion Rose was one of the most preferred, especially by slightly well-established organizations.
The reason for that was the Silver Vermilion Rose, the defining treasure of the pavilion. Yang Qing knew only bits and pieces here and there about it, one of which was that said treasure had been found in the Millionsfold Treasure Ocean.
The founder of the Silver Vermilion Rose Pavilion had gone to the ocean to try her luck, just like most, and in the midst of that, lo and behold, a mysterious treasure of the saint grade by the na of the silver vermilion rose, saw her and was captivated by the breadth of her spirit and quality she showed.
The rose, struck with admiration, delivered itself onto her palm and her fate was thus altered from that mont forth. It was rumored that there had been so domain experts closeby who saw it happen, and out of greed, they tried to steal it from her, after all, the founder was a core formation expert at the ti and thus felt, she was in no way deserving of said saint grade treasure.
Unlucky for them, saint-grade treasures, were saint-grade treasures for a reason a fact firmly engraved in the minds of all who saw five late-stage domain experts being burned to ashes within seconds.
Yang Qing wasn’t sure how much of that tale was true, what he did know to be true was the Silver Vermilion Rose did indeed exist, and it was a powerful treasure that beca the foundation for the rise of one of the most powerful organizations in the continent.
From what he had heart about said treasure was its ability to do anything. The flas produced by it could detoxify even the worst of toxins. It could also be used to help soone starting his or her cultivation journey to achieve the diamond body stage provided they could survive being refined by its flas and when it ca to foundation pillars, it could raise the level of the grade by a single grade, topping out at the gold grade.
For example, soone with orange-grade pillars could have their pillars slted and refined by the flas of the silver vermilion rose, and provided they endured it, and their pillars didn’t lt away, their pillars would upgrade to the blue grade, and the sa applied when upgrading from blue grade pillars to gold grade pillars. Only when it ca to the latter, the stakes were drastically high when improving blue-grade pillars into gold-grade pillars, with a 70% chance of soone having their pillars burned into smithereens in the process and thus becoming cripples.
But despite the risk, there was no shortage of those who would willingly take a gamble on that 30%. Gold grade pillars almost always guaranteed that one would have an easier ti finding their way to the palace realm because of the various advantages it offered, not to ntion the passive effects it offered especially when it ca to refining and processing spiritual qi, which shortened the amount of ti one would need to spend in the foundation establishnt realm, and the core formation realm.
The chance of gaining gold-grade pillars could be considered a worthwhile risk. Cultivating always brought risk of death, and in no short supply at that. The 30% offered by the silver vermilion rose was much higher than other treasures that were ant to do the sa thing.
Yang Qing had heard that the rose did produce sothing, the vermilion true fla pollen, which was rumored to be able to elevate one’s core grade without risk. The rose is rumored to be able to produce one pollen every 30,000 years and that the founder of the Silver Vermilion Rose pavilion had consud said pollen which the rose even went to the extent of purifying it further with its flas, and the resultant pollen was able to elevate the founder’s core from the orange grade it was into a gold grade one.
Yang Qing with all he had read, and he had read a lot, he had never heard of sothing that was able to achieve sothing like that. Raising soone’s foundational pillars was different than raising soone’s core. The difficulty was night and day. Raising a red grade core to an orange grade core was much more difficult than soone with red grade pillars raising them to blue grade pillars, yet the pollen of the silver vermilion rose had managed to not only raise the founder’s core but it raised it by two grades.
With how big the world was, and the mysteries it hid, Yang Qing would not dismiss such a possibility even if he had never encountered proof of it. The world was filled with wonderous things capable of replicating the wonders of the heavens after all, but raising one’s core grade, even with how wonderous the world was, Yang Qing had doubts, whether many such treasures could do what the silver vermilion rose, did.
This showed how particularly special the treasure was, and it didn’t stop there. The treasure could do almost anything, maybe except bring the dead back to life. When one spoke of heavenly treasures, sothing like the silver vermilion rose was what ca to mind.
Among its many features, one of them was binding oaths in an agreent. Using the rose, the pavilion, just like the Sacred Kirin Manor was known for setting up contracts but unlike the latter, when it ca to the Silver Vermilion Rose, those who preferred to use them were a bit well off organizations whereas the Sacred Kirin Manor catered to the lesser clientele.
The reason for that was the Sacred Kirin Manor’s prices were lower than that of the Silver Vermilion Rose, which was much more favorable to less affluent organizations, but in exchange, the contrast of the Sacred Kirin Manor was draconian. Once set it can never be altered, not even by the Sacred Kirin Manor, and the penalty of violating said contract even unintentionally was death, whereas the contracts of the Silver Vermilion Rose while they too were airtight, offered room for maneuverability and the consequences of violating it were not as fatal and gave leeway when it ca to accidents and unintentional mishaps that lead to the violation of the contracts.
Thus those with the ability to pay and needed a contract just as a formality like the nine heart deer and the Starlight Lake Sect, such entities and individuals would prefer the Silver Vermilion Rose over the Sacred Kirin Manor.
If it was as Yang Qing suspected that Fan Cai’s mother had violated the contract in so way, had it been a Sacred Kirin Manor contract, then whether she ant to or not, whether there was extenuating circumstances or not to the violation, her only ending would have been death.
Luckily the contract in question was held by the Silver Vermilion Rose Pavilion, but whether her current fate could be terd as lucky, it would only wait till Yu Gen ca. Only then could he truly know.
