"Then we wait until the Lord of the Swamp's toxic sli pollutes the Spring of Life," Lucian continued. "At that exact mont, an incredibly annoying goddess happens to show up with an incredibly annoying suggestion."
As annoying as her thods might have been, she had undeniably presented them with a new choice—one that allowed them to successfully survive an extinction-level crisis.
"Wait, does that an the Spring of Life actually belongs to Lady Bheara!?" Uskali exclaid in shock.
Everyone stared in dumbfounded silence. They had never even considered such a possibility. Bheara hadn't breathed a word of this from start to finish, and naturally, neither had the original story. These were all deductions Lucian had pieced together from the original lore. But he was almost certainly right. When she was still in Heaven, Bheara had used the "Holy Spring" to observe "these people" in the Lower World.
Bheara possessed formidable strength in Heaven. With a simple wave of her Staff of Winter, the Lower World would plunge into a bitter frost. If she unleashed her full divine power, she could easily force the planet into an eternal Ice Age. Even Hestia didn't want to pick a fight with her—though part of that was simply because Hestia was inherently lazy. Only a deity with that kind of imnse power could silently smuggle a divine spring down into the mortal realm.
"Their benefactor has been wandering right in front of them this whole ti, yet she's treated as an unwelco nuisance," Lucian said with a teasing smile. "You really are blind, aren't you?"
"You really did sothing incredibly annoying just now, kid," Bheara muttered, clearly at a loss for words.
Her reaction alone confird that Lucian's deduction was spot on. Almost imdiately, a palpable shift swept through the crowd; the villagers were now looking at her with far more reverence than before. 『The Mischievous Honest Goddess』—that was Bheara's moniker. She hadn't expected that playing a tiny trick on Lucian would result in instantaneous retaliation. She had only wanted to make things slightly difficult for him. Instead, he had effortlessly deflected the trouble right back onto her. It was entirely her own fault.
"So, what's your answer, Bheara?" Lucian pressed.
"Very well. I'll allow it." Bheara cast a sidelong glance at him. "I'll rember you, kid."
"To be rembered by such a beautiful and 'rciful' goddess is truly an honor." Lucian let out a light chuckle. "Being so stubborn and guarded isn't a good habit, you know. If you're too shy and keep hiding yourself, no one will ever get to see your true feelings."
"I don't possess anything as sentintal as 'true feelings.' The other gods just call malicious," Bheara scoffed.
She actually hated that nickna, yet she had voluntarily brought it up just now. Haha, her defenses are cracking, Lucian thought, highly amused. Doing good deeds without leaving a na? What a classic tsundere trope. Just watch—I'm going to make you show your true colors!
The group soon reached the Spring of Life. Lucian gazed at the toxic mist wafting off the bubbling water and murmured thoughtfully, "Is this thing a Divine Weapon?"
To think she had tossed sothing like this down to the Lower World. He had initially planned to replicate the Spring of Life within his Divine Court, but it seed the process would be more difficult than he imagined. He would inevitably have to teleport back here quite often in the future. The Holy Spring naturally absorbed ley-line energy to produce its waters, making it a massive convergence point for ambient mana. That alone saved Lucian the drudgery of creating a mana-charging magical beast.
"You're a weird one. I disguised it perfectly. How did you see through it?" Bheara asked, looking thoroughly displeased.
"I'm not an 'honest person,' so I won't be answering your questions," Lucian replied smoothly.
Because as long as soone asked Bheara a question, she was compelled to answer, and she never lied—hence the title, Honest Bheara. But because she constantly acted out of malice, making people anxious and confused, she also earned the title of being mischievous. Combine the two, and you got 『The Mischievous Honest Goddess』.
"I'll leave the rest to you, Alfia," Lucian called out. "Since it's a Divine Weapon, you don't need to worry about damaging the Spring of Life. Hold nothing back."
"Understood." Alfia gave a slight nod before diving straight into the poisoned waters without a mont's hesitation.
"W-Wait, she just jumped right in!?" The surrounding villagers panicked.
"Don't underestimate the abnormal resistance of a Lv. 5," Lucian remarked casually.
Even if Tsubaki, a Lv. 5, touched that tainted water, her skin would suffer severe chemical burns. But for Alfia, it was a trivial matter. Furthermore, her Second Magic was [Silentium Eden], which completely nullified other magic and magical effects. Normally, the magic she used—even on herself—was heavily suppressed. It was incredibly difficult for a top-tier adventurer to cast low-power magic; mana was notoriously hard to control. In the original tiline, Alfia had relied on this exact spell to drastically hold back against the mbers of the Astrea Familia.
The poison in the spring was rely the bodily fluids of the Lord of the Swamp. The mont it ca near Alfia, it would likely evaporate. There was a high chance the toxins wouldn't even touch her.
"Step back. I don't want to get splashed by toxic sludge," Lucian said, pulling teria backward.
A mont later, a deafening BOOM echoed through the air as the spring erupted, sending a geyser of water several ters high. The Holy Spring's self-purification chanism rapidly kicked in, and the murky surface visibly cleared up at an astonishing rate. It truly was visible to the naked eye. Within seconds, the entire atmosphere around Beltane felt fresh and clean. Truly, sothing this absurd shouldn't exist in the Lower World.
"The Spring of Life... it's been restored!!" Tears of joy sprang to the eyes of the people of Beltane.
Soon after, Alfia erged from the water. Just as Lucian had predicted, her magic had neutralized the toxins entirely.
"It definitely contains incredibly potent life force." Alfia's expression looked noticeably more relaxed.
The water had successfully suppressed the terminal illness ravaging her body, and she felt imnsely better. She didn't linger in the pool, promptly stepping out onto the shore. So of the villagers had already started scooping up the water to drink directly, which made her feel slightly uncomfortable about staying in.
"How do you plan on using the Spring of Life?" Alfia asked.
"Alchemy Magic." Instead of explaining further, Lucian activated his spell.
A black magic circle glowed brightly in his palm, swiftly followed by a second circle materializing just above it. However, this second layer wasn't flat; it was a highly complex, three-dinsional array that eventually condensed into the shape of a pill. A strong gravitational pull centered on the flat magic circle drew up a stream of spring water, which imdiately funneled directly into the 3D array.
"What is this..." Alfia stared at the intricate spell structure, her mind racing.
As a master mage, she could roughly deduce the function of Lucian's magic. What he called 'Alchemy Magic' was absolutely nothing like a standard healing potion. Instead, it used a magical array as a core, wrapping 'energy' around it to form an independent, external spell. It wasn't just a simple incantation; it was a grand ritual borrowing the raw power of nature. If the array's purpose hadn't been to 'seal skills' but rather to cast offensive magic like a fireball, it could easily function as a single-use Magic Sword.
"I see. Your inherent Mind isn't dense enough to seal my skills, so you're encapsulating an external spell to harness a higher-tier energy source." Alfia marveled in genuine disbelief. "To think you actually researched and developed sothing like this... just what kind of monster are you?"
