What a luxurious Status, Lucian marveled inwardly as he scanned Alfia's Falna.
Three magic spells. Three skills. All three were sound magic and absurdly powerful. Her skills included a Limit Off type and an imitation ability. Co to think of it, the lore he rembered from before his transmigration did ntion that Alfia possessed the terrifying ability to 'copy anything with a single glance.' Whether it was swordplay or hand-to-hand combat, she could replicate it flawlessly. This proved that on top of being an elite grand mage, she also possessed the sheer strength of a vanguard—if only her endurance wasn't pitifully low. But her speed was phenonal, likely rivaling the Juggernaut born on the 70th floor.
Though he couldn't rember exactly where he had read that piece of lore, if it were true, the implications were staggering. A Juggernaut spawned on floors 25 to 27 could chase down a Level 4 Bell and beat him like a helpless child. A 70th-floor Juggernaut... the thought was just absurd. Based on the established rules governing Floor Bosses and anomalous spawns, a 70th-floor Juggernaut would essentially possess the stats of a Level 9, specifically hyper-specialized in agility and dexterity.
"Trace Magic."
Wasting no ti, he quickly pinpointed the negative skill after scanning her data. Using the spell, Lucian followed the skill's energetic pathways to locate the exact source of her terminal illness. When visualizing her disease, it appeared as spreading black spots anchored to every single cell in her body. Alfia was completely stained black from the inside out.
"I think I've got it." Lucian made a few minute adjustnts to the spell array inside the pill, then allowed it to float gently in front of Alfia. "Swallow it, then activate it with your Mind."
Hearing his instructions, Alfia didn't hesitate. She parted her lips and took the pill into her mouth. The mont she injected her Mind into it, the pill instantly vaporized into a gaseous state, flowing down her throat and perating every corner of her body.
The spell formula hidden within activated, instantaneously taking root deep within her physiology. Countless black, vein-like patterns surged forward—stretching from her tongue to her brain, before cascading down into her internal organs. The web-like patterns visible on her skin were only a fraction of the entire seal. To bind a negative skill as overwhelmingly powerful as Alfia's, a seal of this terrifying magnitude was strictly necessary. Within monts, her debilitating skill was entirely suppressed, culminating in the manifestation of a black lotus insignia directly upon her forehead.
"Nnngh..."
A soft groan slipped past Alfia's lips as an imnse wave of relief washed over her. Her body felt impossibly light; the agonizing pain she had endured for years simply vanished. Coupled with the soothing life force radiating from the pill, the sheer comfort forced an involuntary sigh from her throat.
"It's done," Lucian inford her. "I've sealed the negative aspects of your skill, but I deliberately left a specific portion of it active."
"You left a portion active? Was that intentional?" Alfia finally snapped back to reality. A faint flush colored her cheeks as she composed herself and pulled her clothes back up.
"It was. How do you feel?" Lucian asked.
"Much lighter. The life force from the spring water has also repaired the chronic internal damage caused by the illness." Alfia noted. "What exactly did you leave active? It doesn't seem to be negatively affecting ."
"I preserved the Limit Off effect," Lucian explained. "Do you feel any strange fluctuations? Like the seal is restless and could easily break at any mont?"
[Limit Off.]
[Inflicts poison, paralysis, and severe motor dysfunction during combat or skill activation.]
[Causes a semi-permanent, continuous drain on stats, stamina, and Mind while active.]
Because half of Alfia's boundary-breaking power originated from this very skill, Lucian chose to preserve its beneficial effects while strictly sealing the horrific backlash. At this mont, Alfia was finally at her true peak strength. Furthermore, she could now actively train to improve her Strength and Endurance paraters without destroying her body.
"No, I don't feel anything. It's incredibly stable," Alfia said after checking her internal state.
So skills were active, so were passive, and others were a hybrid of both—triggering both voluntarily and involuntarily. For a hybrid skill, if she actively forced it, she could easily shatter a weak seal. But for passive suppression, this felt rock-solid.
"The intensity of my skills fluctuates wildly depending on the length of a battle. If a fight drags on and becos too chaotic, the resulting strain might threaten the seal's integrity," Alfia analyzed.
"Which is exactly why you need to go on an expedition to stress-test the seal's durability," Lucian said, raising an eyebrow.
"If the seal breaks while we're deep inside the Dungeon, and we don't have access to the Spring of Life, will you still be able to suppress it?" Alfia challenged.
"I can instantly teleport from the Dungeon back to Orario, and I can instantly teleport from Orario to Beltane." Lucian snapped his fingers. A pulse of Mind rippled through the room as a teleportation array illuminated beneath his feet. In a flash of light, he materialized instantly by the door. "As long as I've physically visited a location, I can leave a spatial coordinate. Unlike the rest of you, even if I delve deep into the Dungeon, I can still comfortably teleport back to my bed in Orario every single night. I can travel to any floor I please."
"You have a magic like that...?" Alfia's eyes widened in sheer disbelief.
Obviously, possessing a spell like that was considered completely broken and rule-defying in this world.
"Wait. You wanted to descend into the Deep Levels... just so you could log the coordinates?" Alfia realized, her mind working quickly.
"That was one of my objectives, yes." Lucian opened the door and addressed Bheara, who was standing outside. "We're finished here. Next, I'll be manufacturing a large batch of these Sealing Pills, though I can't guarantee exactly how long the seals will hold."
"Even though you're a complete nace... thank you." Bheara looked Lucian straight in the eye and spoke with deep sincerity.
She was genuinely grateful to him. No matter how stubborn or prideful she was, she could still bring herself to say a proper thank you.
"It was just a commission," Lucian brushed it off. "I dealt with the Lord of the Swamp, and in exchange, you allowed to harvest the Spring of Life. The energy I expended was substantial, more than enough to cover the price of the request. We simply exchanged what we needed."
"And you called dishonest. You're exactly the sa," Bheara said, unable to stop a smile from forming.
He claid it was rely a mutual exchange, but in all these years, why hadn't anyone else shown up with the sa 'needs'? Beltane was an obscure, forgotten country, yet Lucian had specifically sought it out. Moreover, while the Spring of Life technically belonged to Bheara, it generated its waters by passively drawing on the earth's ley lines; she didn't expend any personal resources to maintain it.
Ever since the gods descended a thousand years ago, the laws prohibiting divine intervention in the mortal realm had grown impossibly strict. She had managed to smuggle the Spring of Life down here, but she couldn't take it back. She even had to seal her own divine power just to walk the earth. Though it was her innate Divine Weapon, she technically didn't even have full ownership of it anymore.
Returning to the spring's edge, Lucian resud his alchemy. It didn't take long for him to synthesize enough pills to treat the hundreds of afflicted villagers in Beltane, yet he didn't stop there; he deliberately mass-produced a massive stockpile for future use.
Normally, the spring water lost its efficacy if taken too far from the source. The Spring of Life was entirely composed of condensed mana, and without the source continuously providing power, the mana would naturally dissipate into the atmosphere. However, Lucian's Alchemy Magic aggressively compressed and stabilized the mana into a solid core, preventing it from leaking and ensuring it could be stored indefinitely. Furthermore, the process wasn't strenuous in the slightest. Lucian had established an automated alchemy array. With his vast reserves of Mind, he could easily synthesize hundreds of pills simultaneously. Since a single pill only took a minute or two to form, he accumulated a staggering volu in record ti.
Since he had already fully analyzed and recorded the exact structure of Alfia's negative skill, he didn't need to perform the diagnostic tracing again. The sa applied to the citizens of Beltane. By the ti evening descended and the villagers had prepared a grand celebratory feast, Lucian had entirely finished his work.
