According to Ryuu and Adi's plan, returning to this tiline's city two or three more tis at most would be enough to completely eradicate the "Dark Era" — sweeping up every last Dark Familia in one fell swoop.
The girls' plan was airtight, each step locking into the next with relentless precision. Even Isagi found himself genuinely awed by it.
It was almost absurdly efficient.
After all, the so-called Dark Era — counting from this very mont — had historically stretched on for years.
But working within the constraints of his ti-travel ability: roughly once every two weeks, with a full day on the ground each trip.
That ant.
Following Ryuu-senpai and Adi's plan, two months at the outside — and every Dark Familia in the city would be gone.
That included the remnants who would eventually entrench themselves inside the [Artificial Labyrinth], and Dionysus and whatever trouble he'd stir up along with them.
As for the "corrupted Spirit".
The girls' idea was to bring Riveria and the Freya Familia along on a ti-travel trip, plunge into the Dungeon's deep levels, and put the creature down before it had fully "developed."
The logic was sound enough.
Practically speaking, though, it wasn't feasible right now — each trip back to the past gave them only a single day, and even an elite squad composed of Lv.6 and Lv.7 adventurers pushing all the way down to the 60th floor within twenty-four hours was, by any asure, nearly impossible.
"Though... maybe once I level up, it'll be worth a shot," Isagi murmured.
The ti-travel itself was a special ability triggered by channeling his Divine Power into a character card.
His guess was this: as his level rose and the card leveled with him, the ability would grow stronger too — and the ti he could spend in the past would almost certainly increase.
"Mm... I've already spoken with Lady Riveria about all of this. And Hedin as well..."
Ryuu-senpai had thrown herself into the plan with total dedication, and had already made contact with senior mbers of both the Loki Familia and the Freya Familia.
"Hedin has an interesting idea of his own, but it would require cooperation from the city — and specifically from the Academic District."
To leave absolutely nothing to chance.
Hedin wanted the Academic District's strongest adventurer — their "Knight Paramount," Teacher Leon — involved in the campaign against the corrupted Spirit. He even planned to mobilize the many teachers throughout the District who held Lv.5 or above.
As they talked on, voices weaving in and out of each other.
In the distance, the silhouette of the city had risen up through the dark of night.
Four, maybe five hours had passed.
It was deep in the night now — the darkest hour of the full day. Sowhere along the way the stars and moon had quietly retreated behind a thick blanket of cloud, leaving the world below pitch-black and oppressive.
Inside the city.
Beyond the soft glow of the magic-stone lamps lining the streets, everywhere lay the silence of the grave.
But in the distance — both beyond the walls and within them — patrol squads of adventurers moved at irregular intervals, flickering in and out of sight.
Orario, still mired in the "Dark Era," was thick with the atmosphere of a city under siege.
Quietly, Isagi descended onto the tall city walls, the girls still on his back.
Only now, close enough, could they make out what was happening inside — sporadic flashes of magic, the distant sounds of clashing blades drifting through the night. Nothing too fierce. By Isagi and Ryuu-senpai's current standards, it was barely a skirmish.
The Dark Familias had Lv.5 officers among their ranks, true — but the bulk of their numbers were Lv.1 and Lv.2 adventurers. Even when they caused trouble in the city, the damage they could inflict was inherently limited.
"Then we split up from here.
"I've already explained what needs to be done on the way over. If we're serious about stamping out the Dark Familias in the city as quickly as possible, we can't afford to waste a single mont."
Everyone had their own role to play.
And Ryuu-senpai's plan, at its core, ca down to one thing: cut off the head.
It was clear she had thoroughly absorbed the lessons Isagi had drilled into her. The girl understood — the low-level rabble of the Dark Familias were nothing but small fish. Take out their officers, their leaders, and their gods, and the threat they posed collapsed to almost nothing.
Evil would always exist. Adventurers with darkness in their hearts would never disappear from this world entirely.
Even in the Orario of the future, there were still plenty of Familias, rchant guilds, and rcenary outfits operating in the grey.
So the priority — the only thing that truly mattered — was eliminating the ones who organized those scoundrels into a force capable of causing catastrophic harm.
For Isagi and Ryuu-senpai, that was not a particularly difficult task.
First things first.
Looking at the current state of the board.
Because Alfia and Zard had never co to the city, the righteous Familias were already holding the upper hand against the Dark Familias. The enemy had several Lv.5 officers among them — but compared to the city's full roster of adventurers, it simply wasn't enough.
So the so-called "Dark Era" of Orario.
The real problem was never that they couldn't beat the Dark Familias. The real problem was that the whole thing had dragged on for years as an endless ga of cat and mouse.
Because Orario was simply too vast.
As the city of adventurers, it was too chaotic, too layered — impossible to accurately locate where the Dark Familias were hiding at any given ti.
Once that was understood, the plan beca simple.
[Rally the city's major fighting forces, inform them of the Dark Familias' hiding places in advance, then strike.]
That was all.
The plan itself wasn't complicated. The only obstacle was that neither Isagi nor Ryuu-senpai actually knew where the Dark Familias were concealed.
But.
That was precisely where Ryuu and Adi's plan ca in.
The two girls had thought it through ahead of ti — and then used the advantage of being from the "future" to quietly gather as much intelligence on the Dark Familias as they could.
In the era Isagi and the girls ca from, the Dark Familias had already been wiped out.
Which ant Finn and Riveria, who had led those campaigns, along with the senior officers of the Freya Familia and Ganesha Familia — all of them knew exactly where each Dark Familia had been based.
Working backwards from there.
The two girls had assembled a comprehensive picture — a wealth of intelligence about the Dark Familias.
And now, what Isagi and the girls needed to do was bring that intelligence to the Guild and the righteous Familias of the city ahead of ti — and push them to move as fast as possible.
"Adi, you go to the Ganesha Familia."
As the captain's younger sister, the girl could clearly get them moving far faster than anyone else.
"I'll go to the Loki Familia and the Freya Familia. Isagi — you head to the Astrea Familia."
Ryuu said it calmly, seriously.
She seed uncertain how to face her old friends.
The last ti Isagi and his senpai had returned to the city, the word had been that the entire Astrea Familia had departed on an expedition into the Dungeon.
Now, a month later, they should have returned.
Thinking ahead to what the future still held for them — that heartrending tragedy, the annihilation that would co regardless — Isagi gave a quiet nod, parted ways with the girls, and stepped out into the dark of night, making his way toward the distant glow of the Garden of Stars.
