Huo Xuan’s heart eased slightly, and he sighed, "Brother Qu, I’m sorry for the trouble you’ve endured."

He cupped his hands and returned to the main seat.

Seeing him seated, everyone else returned to their places as well.

Mrs. Chen, however, felt that Huo Xuan was too courteous to Zhang Yan and was sowhat dissatisfied, saying, "Master, you are the Ten Disciples Chief, why be so polite to Zhang Yan?"

Huo Xuan frowned, and said in a deep voice, "I have my reasons, madam, there’s no need to say more."

Mrs. Chen looked at him in astonishnt, as Huo Xuan was usually very accommodating to her, and never spoke to her in such a manner.

She slightly opened her red lips, wanting to say sothing, but given the banquet setting, it wasn’t appropriate to make a scene, so she swallowed her words, her expression fluctuating several tis before she could hold back.

At this ti, Chen Qiao Ling was mingling among the thousand or so disciples. Though she wasn’t qualified to enter the hall, she kept observing from outside.

Originally, she thought Zhang Yan wouldn’t show up, and she couldn’t help but feel disappointed. But now seeing him arrive, anger surged in her eyes, unable to bear it. She eagerly anticipated Elder Hu to take action.

But after staring for a long ti, seeing no movent from him, she raised her eyebrows and snorted coldly, taking out a talisman shell. Its surface was covered by a thin mist of light, resembling dim moonlight. She pinched its corner and began reciting an incantation.

Just then, Elder Hu felt sothing unusual in his Sleeve Bag. Upon inspection, he discovered that the Yang Talisman was acting strangely, emitting a white glow, as if wanting to escape into the sky.

Startled, he quickly circulated his mana to try and suppress it.

But no matter how he attempted to calm it, the talisman shell refused to obey him, still pulsating. Realizing what was happening, he silently cursed, "That scheming woman must have tricked !"

Chen Qiao Ling, who had previously acted as if handing over the Yin Yang Talisman Shell was submission, had actually done it intentionally.

The Yin Yang Talisman Shell, although usable separately, could be controlled by Chen Family disciples with a technique to easily reclaim it even if one piece fell into soone else’s hands.

She was using this to remind Elder Hu that if he was unwilling to fight Zhang Yan, he shouldn’t think of taking the item for nothing!

Elder Hu thought he had taken advantage but didn’t expect to be outmaneuvered by Chen Qiao Ling. He couldn’t help but feel secretly frustrated, hesitating whether to take action, but failed to notice his disciple, Ding Wei, watching Zhang Yan, getting restless.

Ding Wei, initially overwheld by the mighty presence of the Dragon Whale, hadn’t recovered for a long ti. Once he realized that the person before him was Zhang Yan, he began to harbor different thoughts.

"This Zhang Yan has quite the grand spectacle, but no matter how powerful the Dragon Carp is, it’s still borrowed and not his true skill. Let test him to see if he’s as formidable as rumored."

Though he was previously subdued by Huang Fuzhou, he just considered it a mont of carelessness, not thinking it a true defeat.

But his face was still lost, and now he was eager to regain it from Zhang Yan.

Besides, now that he was within the hall, the Dragon Carp outside couldn’t exert any influence, giving him confidence, imdiately shouting, cupping his hands, "Daoist Zhang, I am Ding Wei. Long have I heard of your great na, I am especially here to seek your guidance!"

With that, unable to hold back anymore, he imdiately made his move, and having learned from earlier lessons, as soon as he initiated, he displayed his true skills by unleashing his sword ball.

With a whistling sound, a fierce and nacing Green Flood Dragon, entirely erald, sprung from the sword light, unfurling its long sinuous body, heading straight for Zhang Yan.

Elder Hu never expected his disciple to be so cunning, and by the ti he realized sothing was amiss, it was too late to intervene. His expression changed, and he exclaid, "Disciple, no!"

Zhang Yan saw the Flood Dragon coming at him from the corner of his eye, but his expression remained calm. He sat still, as naturally around him swirled a black Gang Wind. With a gentle stir, the attacking Green Flood Dragon had no ability to resist and was instantly torn apart, letting out a wailing cry as it dispersed into points of green light.

Ding Wei stood dazed for a mont, then suddenly scread, spitting blood as he fell to the ground. This Green Flood Dragon Essence, refined with his heart’s blood, being broken ant he was seriously injured, his eyes blank, not understanding how this technique he was so proud of was so easily dismantled.

Zhang Yan said indifferently, "Where did this junior co from, to be so rude?"

Elder Hu’s face grew grim, and he slowly said, "Daoist Zhang, you are a Nascent Soul True Master, why bother with a junior disciple?"

Upon hearing this, everyone was shocked, all eyes focused on Zhang Yan.

A Nascent Soul True Master?

To have cultivated a hundred years and already achieved Nascent Soul—what extraordinary talent was this?

Although there had been speculation prior, when Elder Hu finally revealed it, everyone’s hearts couldn’t help but shudder.

Zhang Yan calmly looked at Elder Hu and asked, "May I know who this Daoist is?"

Elder Hu replied in a deep voice, "I am Hu Yunzhong of the Pingdu Sect. The person you injured is my disciple."

Zhang Yan nodded and said, "Ah, it’s Daoist Hu, so he’s your esteed disciple? You should educate him well."

Elder Hu exhaled, anger rising in his eyes, as he coldly chuckled, "True Master Zhang, I’ve heard your Elixir Formation is First-class and your cultivation technique profound; I wish to have a proper spar with you!"

Having made up his mind, he felt compelled to act tonight for the Yin Yang Talisman Shell. Since his disciple was injured, he could use this as a pretext, believing no one would bla him afterward.

Indeed, as soon as he said this, the Yang Talisman imdiately quieted, prompting another silent curse from him.

Zhang Yan laughed loudly, saying, "For this banquet, I, as a fellow Daoist, do have the intention to et fellow cultivators. Since Elder Hu is interested, how can I refuse?"

Elder Hua and another Elder Yu from the Pingdu Sect exchanged a look, suddenly speaking out, "Hold on."

Elder Hu felt slightly displeased, wondering if these two fellow mbers intended to stop him. He cald down and asked, "What guidance do my senior brothers have?"

Elder Hua, a refined figure with excellent poise, smiled, "Junior Brother Hu, if Nascent Soul cultivators like us were to truly spar, I fear this hall wouldn’t be able to withstand it. If you can’t perform here, why not spar outside instead? Wouldn’t you agree?"

Elder Hu was stunned for a mont, then a trace of joy appeared in his eyes, and he said, "Indeed, what senior brother says is reasonable, that’s how it should be, that’s how it should be!"
