Seeing the cave return to tranquility, Zhang Yan let out a faint smile. With the aid of the Illusion Outer Phenonon, he severed attachnts of the past, cleared his scattered thoughts, and reached a state of unclouded clarity. The Devils subsequently withdrew, no longer harassing him.

Still, he understood that these nurous Devils were rely biding their ti, unable to breach his defenses montarily. They lurked nearby, waiting for even the slightest flaw to appear in his emotional state, ready to pounce the mont such an opportunity arose.

One must know, the human heart is fickle. Not only is it easily swayed by external temptations, but as long as inner obsessions remain and one hasn’t cultivated their Dao Heart to a state of perfect integration like that of the Supre Saint, flaws will inevitably surface over ti.

For now, however, having cleared away many distractions, it could be considered a surprising benefit.

Currently, his Xuan Seed had already ford. Next, he only needed to cultivate according to the spells in the Taiyin Golden Book, refining the golden and fire mysterious lights one by one. Once this was achieved, he would no longer fear ordinary Xuan Guang Practitioners.

Even more importantly, at the mont, he could only use one Dharma Treasure in conjunction with the sword ball. However, if he beca a Xuan Guang Practitioner, he would be able to control two Dharma Treasures simultaneously, greatly enhancing his combat power.

In the days that followed, he sat in the cave daily, practicing breathing techniques and gathering energy. The golden fire mysterious light within him continued to grow stronger.

One day, he erged from ditation and calculated the ti.

He had safely stayed here for ten days. Judging by this progress, it seed that in just over half a month of further cultivation, he would step into the Xuan Guang Realm.

The only worry was that the master of those two Blood Essence Sect disciples might be arriving soon. At that point, not only would stable cultivation be out of the question, but even preserving his life would beco a problem. If it ca to it, he might have no choice but to fight his way out through the Demon Cave’s entrance on the fifteenth day.

Just as he was deep in thought, he heard noises coming from outside the cave, as if soone was approaching.

Zhang Yan furrowed his brow slightly. Could it be disciples of the Blood Essence Sect?

He ford a spell with his fingers, and the Star Sword Ball leapt above his head, transforming into a faintly shimring blue light of crystal sand that enveloped him entirely. With a flash of tunneling light, a streak of blue flared out from a rear exit of the cave.

However, he did not leave imdiately. Instead, he circled back and found a higher vantage point to see who had arrived.

Looking down, his eyebrows arched, and he thought to himself, "It’s that person?"

Below, four people stood together, all covered in blood and looking miserable, as if they had just survived a fierce battle. In the center stood a disciple of the Han Clan, whom Zhang Yan had seen once before in front of Shouming Palace. That individual was surrounded on all sides by the other three.

One of them, a middle-aged cultivator who appeared to be the leader, opened his mouth and said, "Han Ji, today we take your life. We are rely carrying out orders. Do not bla us. If you willingly offer your neck, we can grant you one rcy and let your Primordial Spirit leave freely."

Han Ji let out a faint, bitter laugh. "So Father truly wishes you to act against ? I thought he would at least let live or die on my own in this place."

Letting out another sigh, he said, "This place is a Demon Cave. If my Primordial Spirit cos out, it will likely be devoured by Devils. Whether I stay alive or perish here, what difference does it make? I only have one question that I must know the answer to, Han Quande. Will you tell ?"

The middle-aged cultivator remained expressionless and nodded. "Speak."

Han Ji’s expression grew agitated. "Since I was a child, my father has disliked , even going so far as to find excuses to kill multiple tis. It was only thanks to my mother’s repeated protection that I survived. What I don’t understand is, why does he insist on eliminating at all costs?"

The middle-aged cultivator hesitated briefly before saying, "At this point, I won’t hide it from you. Before you were born, soone in the sect skilled in divination was asked to calculate your destiny. The result of the divination indicated that you would bring misfortune to your father. Do you understand now?"

Han Ji froze, and then a flash of anger erupted in his eyes. His body trembled as he exclaid, "So it’s because of that?!"

The middle-aged cultivator nodded affirmatively. "That’s correct."

Han Ji raised his head to the sky and let out a wretched laugh, clutching at his chest. In a sharp voice, he declared, "I, Han Ji, swear to heaven that if I escape death today, I will annihilate the Han Clan in the days to co!"

His anguished laughter echoed endlessly in the surrounding space. The middle-aged cultivator’s face darkened upon hearing this, and with a wave of his hand, he commanded, "Do it."

From his vantage point, Zhang Yan saw everything clearly. Though Han Ji was a disciple of a Great Clan, he seemingly hadn’t mastered their true techniques. His thods for dealing with opponents were severely lacking. It didn’t take long for him to be struck down, and he could only grit his teeth and endure, relying on the blue smoke erging from the incense burner in his hand for protection.

After watching for a bit, Zhang Yan had no desire to involve himself in such personal vendettas and was about to leave. However, the image of Han Ji’s unyielding gaze flashed in his mind. After thinking it over, he sighed inwardly and muttered, "Very well, I’ll save you today."
