Now reading: Chapter 473 - 102: A 1000-Year-Old Ganoderma in My Hands, A from Daoist Competition, a Eastern novel by Misguided.

He nodded slightly. The outco was already clear to him through the Broken Jade. As for why this was the case, he couldn’t figure it out montarily and could only attribute it to possibly due to his cultivation of the God Contract, which caused his Inner Acupoint Yang Fire to be different from ordinary cultivators.

But then he thought about it again and considered that the world is never short of clever and wise people. Even though he had never heard of a thod to strengthen Yang Fire, it might not be impossible that there are secret techniques passed down.

Zhang Yan’s assumption at this mont was actually not wrong at all.

In the world, quite a few cultivators discovered this dharma technique, but it was always secretly passed down and never shown to outsiders.

As such, one’s own and future disciples can be a step more excellent than others. Many noble families with thousands of years of inheritance also knew of this dharma technique but used various ways to conceal it. Even direct lineage disciples might not know the entire spell.

Take Zhou Chongju for example; he was originally a direct lineage disciple of the Zhou Family, where this thod was in the Zhou Clan. However, he did not inform Zhang Yan, not because he was unwilling to share, but because this thod was divided into Inner and Outer Skills; during cultivation, the disciple uses the Inner Skill, and the elder uses the Outer Skill. Only by combining the two can they succeed, thus eliminating the risk of leakage.

So even if he wanted to guide Zhang Yan, he had no way to explain it. After so consideration, he thought that ntioning it might divide Zhang Yan’s focus, so he simply kept silent.

But even with this dharma technique, expanding the Yang Fire by three or four parts is the limit. However, in the case of soone like Zhang Yan, as long as there is abnormal Qi entering the body, it can all be absorbed and used to strengthen the Yang Fire, which is unprecedented.

Zhang Yan secretly pondered that, in this way, he could indeed make use of this green-clothed youth, and perhaps he truly had the chance to completely burn through those thirty-six acupoints.

At this mont, he vaguely felt that if he really wanted to beco an immortal and attain the Dao, this step was sothing he must not miss, and he must seize this opportunity firmly.

As he was having these epiphanies, he heard a sharp cry from above. Soone shouted, "Li Yuanba, did you think hiding here ans this seat couldn’t find you? Hurry up and get out!"

Zhang Yan thought to himself, "It ca just at the right ti!"

With a flick of his robe sleeves, countless streams of water gathered and surged up, transforming into an upward waterfall shooting straight to the sky!

Deep within Duan’an Mountain, in the cave mansion where the Ganoderma Ancestor’s shell resided, Pan Yang was coughing blood as he tread carefully inside.

He had managed to escape from the green-clothed youth, thanks in part to his foresight to borrow the token for controlling the "Mo Yu Ling Carp Horn" from his brother, Pan Qing. Before entering the cave mansion, he had this beast dig another exit above ground, allowing him to escape in the nick of ti during a crisis.

He was also exceptionally bold, deducing that if the green-clothed youth obtained the spiritual object, he wouldn’t linger around. Thus, after escaping, he returned.

First, he collected his brother’s remains, yet he was still not resigned, thus he ventured back underground to inspect.

After entering the cave, he took a ticulous round, looking at the traces left by the high-grade dicinal ginseng, a pensive expression appearing on his face.

With his eye power, he instantly recognized what these remnants were from. He was certain that the spiritual object emitting a rich wood energy was far beyond comparison with the high-grade dicinal ginseng. This object might very well be the legendary shell of the Ganoderma Ancestor.

His gaze flickered as he assessed the cave mansion; it seed like soone else had entered from another cave. Judging by the earth-shaking vibration he later heard, it seed to be the commotion caused by two people fighting, so the one who obtained the spiritual object might not necessarily be that green-clothed youth.

Thinking of this, he beca unwilling again.

This spiritual object was discovered by him and his brother together, yet it was taken by soone else, and his brother even lost his life over it. This vengeance must be paid back, and he must also find a way to recover that spiritual object!

But whether it’s the green-clothed youth or the one he fought with, both are likely not entities he himself could contend against.

Thinking for a mont, a venomous glint appeared in his eyes as he said, "If I can’t have it, then none of you shall think of obtaining it."

He first took out a token, carved so words on it using Xuan Guang, then clapped his hands, transforming the spirit talisman into a long rainbow which vanished into the sky, and then leaped into the air, heading to Thousand Ridges Peak.

Within rely two hours, he arrived atop Thousand Ridges Peak. The place was already cordoned off by the Shi Clan, prohibiting anyone from entering. Thus, after intentionally revealing himself and wandering around the peak, he was soon spotted by a cultivator from the Shi Family. Imdiately, a cultivator flew up to the clouds and said, "Where are you from, don’t you know the Shi Clan forbids people like you from entering this place?"

Pan Yang quickly replied, "I am Pan Ming from the Anqiu Sect. I have encountered Brother Daoist Shi once before and have so important matters to share."

The cultivator hesitated briefly after hearing his earnest words and said, "Wait here," then hurried towards the deeper part of the peak.

In less than a mont, he returned and said, "This Brother Daoist, please follow ."

Pan Yang felt assured as he followed the cultivator into a dense forest. After crossing a mountain stream, he saw Shi Yifan seated on a large rock from afar, surrounded by over a dozen Powerful Warriors. He quickly descended from the clouds and went up to pay his respects.

Shi Yifan, being of a lazy disposition, glanced at Pan Yang, still not bothering to put down the whip in his hand, casually cupping his hand towards him and saying, "What brings Daoist Pan here?"

Pan Yang glanced around, moved his lips, and recounted what he knew, word by word.

At first, Shi Yifan was indifferent, but as he listened more, his eyes lit up brightly. He abruptly stood up and stared at him, asking, "Is this really true?"

Pan Yang shouted, "Absolutely true!"

Shi Yifan clenched his fists, then relaxed them again, suddenly asking, "Have you told anyone else about this matter?"

Pan Yang smiled and said, "I have already inford Lady Yan...

"What?" Shi Yifan took two furious steps forward, raising the whip in his hand, but then he seed to recall sothing. He gave a cold hum, lowered the whip, and mocked, "Daoist, you are indeed quite shrewd."

Pan Yang replied calmly, "Oh, not at all. I am weak and alone, with no choice but to act as I did."

This was also his thod of self-preservation. Knowing that Yan Yuqin and Shi Yifan, either of them would think they could seize the Ganoderma Ancestor alone, to prevent the news from leaking out, they would not spare him as a living witness. But once both were aware of this news, there was no need to kill him, as he was a disciple of the Anqiu Sect, not a rootless Loose Cultivator.

He chose to co to Shi Yifan while only sending a token to Yan Yuqin because her temperant was unpredictable and willful; he was unsure if she might decide to kill him in anger.

Shi Yifan thought for a long ti and realized that since Yan Yuqin knew about it, there was no way around it, so it was better to be straightforward.

Although he might not entirely believe Pan Yang’s words about the formidable green-clothed youth, it’s always better to be cautious with the unpredictability of the situation. Teaming up with Yan Yuqin gave them both a larger assurance.

Having made up his mind, he declared energetically, "You, summon everyone back and accompany to Pear Blossom Peak."

A servant asked, "Young master, do we not search the whole mountain for dicine mushrooms?"

Shi Yifan struck down with his whip, imdiately tearing the servant’s skin open, and laughed heartily, "As good as the dicinal ginseng might be, how could it compare to the Ganoderma Ancestor?"
