"We’ve already begun positioning," Dmitri announced with the confidence of soone who’d been orchestrating this mont for months. "Four shell companies have been quietly acquiring Quantum Tech stock through interdiaries. Nothing large enough to trigger disclosure requirents, but sufficient to establish controlling positions."

Antonio consulted his notes with practiced efficiency. "Phase one is nearly complete. We’ve identified fifteen key employees with access to proprietary information, trade secrets, and developnt roadmaps. Twelve have already been... persuaded to cooperate."

"Persuaded how?" Vincent asked, though his tone suggested he didn’t particularly care about the thodology as long as it was effective.

"Standard leverage techniques. Financial pressure, personal vulnerabilities, career advancent opportunities." Antonio’s smile suggested that "persuasion" was a polite euphemism for sothing much darker. "The chief technology officer, for example, has a gambling problem that’s put him two hundred thousand in debt to so very unforgiving people."

"And now his debt is manageable?" Dmitri inquired.

"Completely forgiven, thanks to our consulting fees for sharing Quantum Tech’s upcoming product announcents and security protocols."

Vincent returned to his seat with the satisfaction of a general reviewing successful battle plans. "What about dia positioning?"

"Already in motion," Antonio replied, his eyes gleaming with malicious anticipation. "We’ve been seeding stories about Quantum Tech’s ’uncertain leadership transition’ and ’concerns about strategic direction under inexperienced managent.’ Nothing directly attacking Charlotte yet—that cos during phase two."

Dmitri pulled up financial projections on his tablet. "Based on current intelligence, Quantum Tech will announce quarterly losses exceeding projections by sixty percent. When that information becos public—"

"When we make it public," Antonio corrected with predatory satisfaction.

"The stock price will crater," Dmitri continued. "We estimate a drop of seventy to eighty percent within the first week."

Vincent nodded approvingly. "And that’s when little Charlotte discovers that running a technology company requires more than daddy’s money and purchased credentials."

"Here’s where it gets beautiful," Dmitri said, refilling their glasses with the reverence of soone preparing for communion. "She’ll have no choice but to seek help from the ’family friends’ who helped her father build the empire."

"Us," Antonio clarified unnecessarily.

"Us," Vincent confird. "The trusted advisors who’ve been waiting in the wings, ready to ’save’ Quantum Tech from complete annihilation."

"I also suggested sothing else to our dear Charlotte," Antonio added with particular satisfaction. "Told her she should consider recruiting so fresh talent from top universities. Young blood tends to be innovative, I said. Hungry. Eager to prove themselves."

Vincent’s smile turned predatory. "And she believed you?"

"Hook, line, and sinker. She’s already announced a new hiring program targeting recent graduates from MIT, Stanford, CalTech." Antonio’s laugh was pure malice. "What she doesn’t realize is that we’ll be providing the candidates."

Dmitri caught on imdiately. "Our people."

"Our people," Antonio confird. "Young, ambitious, and completely loyal to whoever’s paying their student loans and promising them seven-figure careers."

"Brilliant," Vincent breathed. "We’ll have operatives embedded throughout the company before she even realizes what’s happening."

"By the ti phase three begins, we’ll control more of Quantum Tech than she does," Antonio said with satisfaction.

Dmitri raised his glass again. "To Charlotte Thompson. May she prove to be exactly as incompetent as we expect."

"To purchased degrees and inherited stupidity," Antonio added.

"And to the billions we’ll make from both," Vincent concluded.

They drank their toast with the reverence of n who understood that other people’s failures were their greatest opportunities.

But as they set down their glasses, sothing shifted in the room’s atmosphere. The camaraderie remained, but underneath it lurked sothing darker—the recognition that n capable of destroying others were equally capable of destroying each other.

"You know," Vincent said thoughtfully, "if this goes as well as we expect, Quantum Tech will be worth considerably more than we initially projected."

"Considerably more," Dmitri agreed, his voice carrying a subtle warning.

"Enough to make certain... partnerships... less necessary than originally anticipated," Antonio added with deceptive casualness.

The silence that followed was pregnant with threat. Each man understood that their alliance was built on mutual benefit, not loyalty, and that billions of dollars could test any friendship.

"Of course," Vincent continued with a smile that didn’t reach his eyes, "we’re all reasonable n who honor our agreents."

"Absolutely," Dmitri replied, his hand unconsciously moving to adjust his jacket in a way that suggested he was ard. "Honor among thieves, as they say."

"Speaking of honor," Antonio said, his own smile equally cold, "I trust that all our communication regarding this venture has been properly... secured?"

"Naturally," Vincent answered. "Though it’s worth rembering that accidents can happen to anyone who might consider... renegotiating established arrangents."

The threat hung in the air like poison gas. Each man knew that the others were capable of murder, and each knew that billions of dollars had motivated n to kill for far less.

"Tiline?" Vincent asked, breaking the tension but not dispelling it.

"Three months," Dmitri replied without hesitation. "Fives for the stock price to reach critical levels, another three for Charlotte to exhaust her options and co begging for salvation."

Antonio smiled with the satisfaction of soone who’d already written the ending to this story. "By Christmas, Quantum Tech will belong to us, and Charlotte Thompson will be lucky if we let her keep a trust fund."

"Assuming she’s still in a position to spend it," Vincent added with aningful ambiguity.

Dmitri understood the implication. "Tragic accidents do seem to run in families."

"Such a sha when young heiresses suffer from the sa heart conditions as their fathers," Antonio agreed with mock sympathy.

Vincent stood, signaling the end of their eting. "Gentlen, we have our objectives. Dmitri, continue the financial pressure. Antonio, escalate the dia campaign and manage our embedded assets. And rember—we’re not the villains in this story."

"We’re the heroes," Antonio said, clearly having heard this rationalization before.

"We’re the inevitable result of incompetence eting consequence," Vincent finished. "Charlotte Thompson had every advantage money could buy, and she’ll still manage to lose everything her father built."

As the three n gathered their materials and prepared to leave, Dmitri paused at the window, looking down at the city below.

"You know what the truly beautiful part is?" he said thoughtfully.

"What’s that?" Vincent asked.

"She still thinks she’s qualified to run that company."

Their laughter echoed through the conference room one final ti before they dispersed back into the corporate ecosystem, leaving behind only empty glasses and the lingering scent of expensive tequila.

Outside, the city continued its relentless pace, completely unaware that another family empire was about to be dismantled by n who treated human lives like quarterly profit projections.

So predators hunt in the wilderness. Others wear handmade suits and schedule their kills around board etings.
