Now reading: Chapter 1741 The Final Battle from Dark Magus Returns, a Adventure novel by JKSManga.

Raze knew at some point Idore would join the fight. He always did in the past, but usually it was the other way around. When Raze went to go after Idore, Trubin would be there, and he would need to retreat.

When Raze had attempted to get to the Grand Magus in the past, he had to calculate who was easiest to target first, and since Idore although the leader wasn't claimed to be the strongest, Raze did go after him from time to time, but it would always end in failure. Either Trubin would intervene, or the situation would spiral out of control before Raze could properly isolate him.

This time was different.

Having beaten Trubin at a rather fast speed by going all out, Raze knew Idore would be out there somewhere, and he needed to try and deal with Trubin as quickly as possible to get to Idore before he turned the tide of the whole mess. That had been the plan from the beginning. He couldn't allow a repeat of the past where the two of them boxed him in, draining him until retreat was the only option.

He had already been struggling against nearly all of the Noble Guild on his own, and now there was a second timer on him, his Breakthrough.

Thankfully, due to the effects of his own Breakthrough, it was lasting a lot longer pared to others. The absorbed mana from Trubin had extended it beyond what should have been possible, and Raze could still feel that overwhelming well of power sitting behind him like a second presence.

The issue was that once Raze's Breakthrough ended, he could no longer use magic.

Sure, he could still use his Qi. That was the benefit of him being who he was, being able to fight in two different ways, but if he couldn't beat Idore using Qi and magic bined, then he wouldn't be able to beat him just using Qi alone.

Idore wasn't Trubin.

Idore was the one who had orchestrated everything.

In the end, he had eventually found where Idore was. It wasn't hard. The mass amount of Qi attacks from his allies, and the mass amount of Mana flowing through the air had drawn him there. It was like a beacon in the middle of chaos, a clash of two different worlds colliding.

Raze had turned up right where the others were.

"Well, I guess Raze won't have the same problem as us, getting to him." Lince mented, as they saw Raze floating up from where the others were, and now around twenty meters apart from each other the two mages faced each other.

The air between them felt tense, charged with power, like two storms about to collide.

"The fact that you are here can only mean one thing, that you managed to defeat Trubin." Idore mented. "I honestly can't believe you managed to acplish it. I thought everything I had created would have been enough to stop you.

"The fact that you are here can only mean one thing, that you managed to defeat Trubin." Idore mented. "I honestly can't believe you managed to acplish it. I thought everything I had created would have been enough to stop you.

"Yet time and time again, you have managed to make it this far. It's a shame, because my son was loyal to the end, always trying to prove something to me."

Raze had gotten his answer from Idore's words right there, and he had e to a fine conclusion.

Trubin wasn't just a subordinate.

He was Idore's son.

"You have turned into a monster and you don't even realise it do you?" Raze said. "Your son dies, and that's all you have to say?"

"People die every day." Idore replied. "Whether they are connected to me by blood or not, makes no difference. It seems that you are putting more emphasis on this connection than there actually needs to be. He was useful because he was powerful, he was powerful because he had my blood.

"Isn't it only right that a creation of mine does as I ask? He got everything from me, so I should also have the right to take it away? And you calling me a monster. Believe me there are far more bigger monsters that are out there than me, you stupid fool."

Raze listened carefully.

When Raze killed, every life he took, he always thought about the pain he was causing. Every person was related to someone, had friends, had family, at least at one point. Just as how the things important to him had been taken away, he had to remember, that he could be the person that was taking it away from others.

That guilt had always been there.

It didn't stop him.

But it was there.

It reminded him that what he was doing wasn't righteous. It was revenge.

Yet Idore didn't care.

There was no hesitation in his voice. No weight. No regret. Even speaking about his own son was no different than speaking about a tool that had broken.

That was what separated them.

"You know I have guilt in my heart for killing others, but I can safely say Idore, that I will have no guilt in my heart when I kill you." Raze claimed. "You might think you will survive, but I have something very important to tell you.

"Every single one of the other four Grand Magus believed that they would have survived against me, and now they are dead, and the same is going to happen to you."

Raze could feel his Breakthrough still active behind him, the black sphere shifting slightly as mana pulsed through his veins. Time was still ticking, but he wasn't rushing blindly.

This wasn't just about overpowering Idore. This was about ending the chain that had bound his life for so long. Idore floated there calmly, not a hint of fear in his eyes.

But Raze had seen that look before. He had seen it in Trubin. He had seen it in every one of them.

And they were all dead.
