After leaving the conference room, Lynch got into Mr. Wardrick’s car. He had also attended the eting but did not speak, as it wasn’t necessary.

In the relative privacy and safety of the car, he asked, "Do you think they are difficult to deal with?"

Lynch nodded, "Very difficult."

"What makes them difficult?" Mr. Wardrick was very curious. "Is it more advanced weaponry, or so outstanding tactics, or sothing special?"

Lynch directly gave an unexpected answer, "Spirit!"

"I’ve read a lot of books about the Peng Jieao Empire over the past couple of days. Many authors portray the Peng Jieao Empire with an evil image in their books, even when their understanding is not clear."

"They are highly aggressive, which is the most terrifying aspect. From the rulers of the Empire to an ordinary citizen on the streets, each person can obtain what they want from war."

"Wealth, status, power—when an entire society is addicted to war, you can’t imagine how destructive they can be."

Lynch raised a finger, "I an the destruction for their enemies!"

"They will tear apart everything in front of them because the chains that hinder their upward progress during peaceti will completely loosen during warti."

"As long as they kill those enemies, they can reap benefits they could never obtain otherwise!"

"Every person goes mad, driven to insanity by the desire to kill enemies, which is sothing we do not possess."

"So, this opponent will be very troubleso for us!"

Mr. Wardrick seed to understand and yet not understand, "We have so new tanks. Maybe you could use them..."

Lynch couldn’t help but laugh, "You need to talk to the Ministry of Defense, you know. Personally, I don’t intend to use too many tanks in this friction."

"For the climate in Nagariel, you know it’s hot, and there’s too much primitive forest. I can’t pave a road for these tanks in the forest unless soone pays to do so!"

Mr. Wardrick frowned, "So it looks like they won’t be useful in this conflict?"

Lynch nodded in agreent, "So I suggest you convince the Ministry of Defense. Maybe they want to see the power of these things, buy so for us to try out, who knows?"

"Alright, it seems my sales pitch failed." He appeared a bit dejected, just appeared, "Let’s ask sothing we both care about; can we win this ti?"

Lynch’s answer was not so certain, "Hard to say, after all, we haven’t had a direct clash yet."

"By the way, drop off at the Ministry of Defense. I have another eting there..."

The car made a half-circle around Bupen and stopped at the entrance of the Ministry of Defense. Lynch got out, sighed, and walked towards the Ministry.

An officer saw him and approached actively, "Mr. Lynch, you’re finally here. We’ve been waiting for you."

Lynch smiled and apologized for being late, and under the officer’s guidance, entered the Strategic Command of the Ministry of Defense.

Here, the Ministry of Defense studies and commands all Federation occupations. From its inception until now, regretfully, it has never been used.

Including a naval battle against Gafura, the admiral directly cut off contact with the Ministry during the war; otherwise, they might not have sunk those already surrendered warships.

This barely counts as half a ti, but each year the expenses here at the Ministry of Defense show no sign of decreasing.

Various exercises and such—basically, this is also a financial pit.

"You’re late!" As soon as he entered the conference room, a lieutenant general criticized Lynch for being late to such an important eting.

Lynch was nonchalant. After finding his seat, he said, "I was just discussing with the United Developnt Company about the feasibility of establishing a defense line in the east of Nagariel, so I ca late."

This explanation was sowhat weak, but it magically made the lieutenant general change his mind. He asked, "And what was the outco?"

"We’re trying to deploy at least ten thousand troops and equip them with advanced military equipnt. However, the situation remains not so optimistic. You know, our opponent is quite tricky."

The lieutenant general nodded, "We are considering that as well. We are hesitant about a direct clash with them, so when I discussed this with my colleagues just now, we had an idea."

He looked at Lynch, observing his expression, "Let Darkstone Security take the frontline. Your achievents in the North are visible to everyone, very good, no worse than professional soldiers."

"If the friction begins as a clash between the Federation Army and Peng Jieao’s Army, it’s likely the friction will rapidly escalate. We all have reasons we can’t afford to lose."

"But..." He smiled, "...so you should understand what I an, right?"

Of course, Lynch understood. The Army has reasons not to lose, but Darkstone Security can!

The Navy already won against the world’s premier naval power. If the Army loses, they will forever be unable to raise their heads in front of the Navy.

It’s not just about such minor losses; if it were only these issues, they wouldn’t care much.

The Federation Military adopts a budget system for military funding. The Navy perford excellently; they imdiately launched various big projects, and Congress didn’t even attempt to block it, only making a symbolic inquiry for fairness and justice before approving the Navy’s budget.

If the Army performs poorly, for instance, if they prove no match for Peng Jieao’s Army, then not only would it be difficult to apply for budget for large projects, even maintaining the current budget would be hard.

After all, Congress mbers have to account for the taxpayers’ money, right?

No taxpayer would agree to financing a bunch of incompetents every year, and budget cuts and troop downsizing are inevitable.

For the future of the Army, and officers’ futures, the Federation Army cannot lose!

Even though until now the Army has no tangible achievents, they are extrely proud and believe the Army is first-class worldwide.

Until the northern issue arose, struggling in fights with warlords, making the Federation Army realize that relying on re thoughts, they are indeed the world’s best.

But this world doesn’t fight by imagination; it requires the real deal!

Furthermore, Darkstone Security’s current small-scale combat force already evidently surpasses the war-experience lacking Army. Let Darkstone Security go to the frontline first against Peng Jieao people, at least we can grasp Peng Jieao’s Army’s true strength!

If they are strong, then we can adopt more cautious approaches, such as building a solid defense line or politically compromising outside of warfare.

After all, it wouldn’t be the Federation Army losing, leaving room for maneuver.

Darkstone Security can fail, but the Federation Army cannot.

If they are weak, all the better; if they can’t even beat irregular forces, undoubtedly, the Federation Army achieves another great victory!

With Lynch’s arrival, the conversation content began to shift toward him.

Lynch was aware of these relations. He nodded, "I understand."

"What was the budget you discussed with the United Developnt Company?" the lieutenant general asked.

But Lynch didn’t answer, "Using the budget I gave them for your reference is aningless..." Everyone turned to him, so frowning, evidently displeased by Lynch’s statent.

They thought Lynch might want to raise the price. The lieutenant general also frowned slightly, "Why do you say so?"

"Because the price I offered them was based on ensuring the United Developnt Company’s interests aren’t severely damaged. I can let them enter Nagariel internally, avoiding direct warfare."

"Anyway, our ultimate goal is simply to prevent them from occupying Nagariel; it’s that straightforward."

Everyone nodded; they could understand these contents, and for those capitalists, even if the local area was ruined, it wouldn’t matter as long as the population and resources were present; everything else isn’t a problem.

They could even use such opportunities to fiercely shave another layer of skin.

Lynch spread his hands, "But the Ministry of Defense, what you all need is not this. You need to scout out Peng Jieao people’s true strength, so I must confront them head-on."

"If I let them into Nagariel’s interior, the losses they cause will ultimately be attributed to the Army’s incompetence. By saying so, you understand, right?"

"People don’t want, if soday battle fires reach the Federation Mainland, the Army won’t bear the responsibility to eliminate the enemy at the frontline!"

"If Darkstone Security confronts these people head-on, we must prepare fully, including aircraft sorties potentially pushed above five thousand tis!"

"This is currently the most probable way to inflict severe war damage on Peng Jieao’s Army. Every flight carries risks, and there’s bomb consumption; all these cost money!"

What Lynch said made the lieutenant general feel... he’s making so sense. If you don’t take direct confrontation, you wouldn’t glean Peng Jieao Empire’s Army real combat capability?

If you confront directly, costs naturally rise.

"...Including but not limited to constructing defense works, batteries, bunkers, trenches in areas likely targeted by their main offensives, these are absent from the plans I gave the United Developnt Company."

"Besides these, I also need to hire more workers to do these tasks; that’s a significant expense too, given besides salaries, they need food..."

After listening, the lieutenant general’s head hurt a bit; most commanders are responsible for strategic level work like what place to attack and what effects to deal to opponents.

They don’t handle specifics down to details; Lynch’s talk made the generals here a bit troubled—they don’t want to know how workers dig trenches.

They only want to know, what price Lynch would charge them?
