Now reading: Chapter 226 - 0224 Observing laws and regulations is the obl from Darkstone Code, a Drama novel by Tripod.

The situation is unfolding much faster than imagined. According to the case handling procedure, there is a process from the informant’s report to investigation and filing, and then applying for various permits from the judge. This process is unavoidable.

Sotis, even if the police know a person is the criminal, they have no choice but to watch him escape or destroy evidence because everything has to follow the procedure.

This is the freedom of the Federation, where even criminals are free.

But today’s events have revealed a different scent.

Gap thought there was still a chance to redy so issues. He had just left Ristowan Building, and his car hadn’t yet left the end of the street when another vehicle collided slightly with his car.

Such incidents are common in Bupen. Fifty percent of the wealthy people in Bail Federal are gathered there, and the abundance of cars on the streets is enough to evoke fear and an inexplicable excitent.

But here in Sabin City, cars are not abundant enough to easily collide.

Gap wasn’t sure if his driving mistake caused the accident, as he was holding the steering wheel thinking about other things. His attention wasn’t fully on the road, nor did he notice the car coming from one side.

The other party claid that it was entirely caused by Gap; they were just driving normally.

If this had happened twenty-four hours earlier, Gap definitely wouldn’t have acted like a coward to settle the matter peacefully. He wouldn’t take out a few bucks for the other party to repair the car; he would call the police and let the lawyer deal with the other party.

Compared to possible legal fees exceeding the compensation, the other party would certainly choose to shut up and disappear from his sight, leaving only the smile of class victory on Gap’s face.

But this ti, he took the initiative to pay, only to find out the other party not only refused his offer but also called the police.

Due to the report, Gap couldn’t leave; otherwise, he might get into even bigger trouble.

The mounted police officer, after checking Gap’s vehicle and docunts, believed there were issues with his driving license and took him to the Police Station based on that reason.

It was at the mont when he was sitting in the police car that he realized these people might not be here because of his license issues but related to his secretary.

This was an interesting experience; sothing he had never experienced before.

His heart rate accelerated, blood pressure rose, and a hollow wind sound appeared in his skull. His attention scattered and was hard to concentrate.

An ordinary person’s fear of facing the state machinery slowly grew, dominating his mind.

As soon as Gap was arrested, Neo knew the ins and outs of the matter. After cursing out so bastards, he arranged for the chief legal adviser from the legal departnt to bail out Gap.

anwhile, Neo asked to have Gap’s direct supervisor brought to the office.

The finance director cautiously closed the door, slightly lowering his head, not daring to look at Neo, much less et his eyes. But Neo did not spare him.

"Lift your head, look into my eyes, and tell what the woman has on us that made the investigation team act now!" The first half of his sentence maintained a sense of decorum, but the latter half already started to roar.

Of course, he would complain about the investigation team’s irregular abuse of power, although it would only create a little pressure on the other party without much actual consequence. He understood the investigation team’s determination to catch Gap.

They wouldn’t let Gap disappear, believing he might be the "key figure" in the entire case. Their certainty must be related to that woman.

But his subordinates, including Gap, lied about this matter, making Neo feel like everything was spiraling out of control.

There is less than half a month left until they move out of Sabin City. Just a little more, and all the handover procedures could be completed, freeing them from the heavy burden of workers to restart soplace new. But now everything is becoming dangerous.

An unforeseen mistake disrupted the group company and all his preparations. He disliked this feeling of being out of control, making him feel like a weakling unable to control his own fate.

The finance departnt director wiped the sweat from his forehead and temples in the cold winter, possibly due to the high temperature of the heating here, feeling like he was in a furnace.

Faced with the president’s inquiry, he didn’t know how to answer.

Neo glared at him for a while, then suddenly sighed, "You can say nothing. Actually, none of this matters to ."

"Most of my shares have already been converted into cash. Even if Ristone is ruined, it won’t matter to . It’s you, that little accountant, and everyone involved who will inevitably suffer."

"Before things are out of control, tell all the truth. Perhaps we still have a chance to reverse the defeat. But if you only wish to keep the secrets already exposed to the police, then I will watch as you and your crappy secrets plunge into the Abyss!"

Neo’s sudden reversal in attitude made the departnt director even more anxious. If the group company, or rather if Neo and the shareholders truly gave up everything, all they middle managers have will beco a thing of the past.

The police will deal with them with impunity, they can’t even resist.

The head of the financial departnt imdiately talked about those matters. Neo initially thought it might just be trivial issues like forcibly exchanging bodily fluids with the secretary against her will, but it turned out to be far more serious than he had imagined.

When he heard that they even wrote so obviously degrading content on the girl’s thighs, he laughed angrily!

"You even signed your nas!" Neo felt he couldn’t understand these people at all. They hardly had any power, barely any assets, yet dared to do such things. Who gave them the courage?

He knew there were issues of abusing female employees within the company, but he never managed or restrained it.

Firstly, those girls themselves weren’t exactly good girls—people aren’t interested in older "won." It’s the "girls" that attract n’s interest.

Secondly, this top-down sexual domination is one of the underlying cultures of large companies, not just Ristone. Many companies have this issue, and people are used to it.

But they shouldn’t have played too recklessly, nor should they have failed to handle the aftermath properly.

After listening to what the departnt head said, Neo gave him a cold look, "Imdiately buy a ticket and ’flee’ the country before the police start paying attention to you, understand what I an?"

The head’s body trembled slightly, his expression sowhat pained, "Is there no room for redemption?"

Neo didn’t answer, as if he hadn’t heard the question at all, "Do you need my help?"

The head shook his head repeatedly, but Neo didn’t let him off.

He picked up the phone and called a young male employee without a specific position, instructing him on his tasks for the next few days, and had him help the head leave Bail and flee out of the country as soon as possible.

This approach might seem foolish, but it was very effective and direct.

Now the investigation team was trying to pry open these people’s mouths by exploiting so issues, Neo had already guessed what they would do next, nothing but intimidate these people.

But they made a mistake. They alard him too early, giving him a chance to make ands.

The investigation team actually still had no direct evidence proving Ristone’s involvent in various potential criminal activities or illegal dealings. They were only targeting a few individuals within the company.

Who can guarantee there are only good people in their enterprise? Ristone naturally can’t. As long as these people flee, the case won’t be solved anyti soon, and Ristone can successfully relocate.

Once they reach a new place, local protection policies will activate again. Even if the investigation team has evidence, they can’t deal with Ristone.

With local protection policies in place, they can drag these investigations on for ten years, twenty years, or even indefinitely until the investigation ends on its own. Now, he must silence so people before the police and the investigation team take action.

Not long after, two well-known lawyers in the Federation appeared at the police station, looking to bail out Gap.

Gap was temporarily detained on charges of "suspected forgery of docunts," a minor charge. The lawyers got permission from the court, and the police station couldn’t do anything but agree to the bail.

At this point, discussing bail money was actually worthless, but it also demonstrated the advanced nature of the Federation’s judiciary, as everything proceeded orderly according to standard procedures.

Gap, just out of the police station, looked back. He suddenly felt that the police station, which not long ago filled him with fear, now inexplicably felt safe.

Yet the car waiting for him by the roadside gave him a sense of dread.

"Get in, the President is waiting for you," a lawyer urged, checking his watch with a slightly annoyed expression. This insignificant character had wasted too much of their ti.

Gap looked at the two lawyers, not discerning any other expression from their faces, and got into the car with so unease.

Twenty minutes later, Gap t Neo in the CEO’s office, and before he could say anything, Neo raised his hand to stop him.

"I speak, you listen!" After confirming with eye contact, Neo continued, "I will arrange for you to leave the Federation imdiately. You will quickly adapt to life overseas, and once things are settled, I’ll arrange for your return. Do you understand?"

Gap couldn’t help but speak up at this point, "Mr. Neo, the court issued an injunction preventing from leaving Sabin City, making it difficult for to leave here or the Federation."

Neo couldn’t help laughing, with sothing uncomfortable in his voice, "Does the law allow you to humiliate, harm, and enslave those girls?" He spread his hands, "What they don’t allow, you still did, didn’t you?"

"And now you’re talking to about a legal injunction?"
