In the evening, at the hunting cabin, the flas in the fireplace crackled beside us. It’s a solid wood house, made of pine.
After the temperature in the room rose, a distinctive pine scent emanated from the walls, a faint woody fragrance which houses in the city with wallpapers or painted walls cannot offer.
Everything feels natural and primitive, yet it’s quite an interesting enjoynt.
The dining table is a large solid wood table that looks like it needs four or five people to wrap their arms around. It’s ten centiters thick, simply processed, with rings on its surface that are still visibly clear.
The cook and servants outside the door continuously bring in prepared food, all parts of today’s al ca from the hunt.
Such as roast rabbit, deer legs, and minced deer neck at, all are results of their Spring hunt.
Wooden utensils, plates, and even soup bowls add a sense of style to everything, the pity is that two n are seated at the dining table.
"Many people think deer legs should taste the best, maybe that’s true if they’re only roasted or fried," Mr. Wardrick is fiddling with the freshly served minced deer neck at.
This at appears darker red than beef, sowhat like certain deep-sea fish at.
It hasn’t been cooked, it’s still raw, just intricately processed from a complete piece of at into minceat.
Mr. Wardrick holds a perfectly baked piece of bread, first spreading a bit of butter, adding a pinch of leaf-like shredded herbs, then scooping a spoonful of minced at onto it.
He flattens it with a dining knife, leaving no corners untouched, then sprinkles so spices prepared by the cook, and sprays a thin layer of wine.
"Want to try?" Mr. Wardrick looks sowhat "greedy," Lynch clearly sees him swallow, which is not common.
Seeing Lynch’s seemingly reluctant expression, he laughs and stuffs the bread he’s prepared into his mouth, takes a bite, and reveals a look of enjoynt.
After a while, he swallows the other half and smiles, "Actually, the two pieces of at behind a deer neck are the best tasting, they’re not suitable for roasting or frying as that would ruin their special texture and flavor. Eating them raw is the best way."
"You should try it, it’s a very special experience. Life is always full of new things, every step forward brings us into contact with sothing we don’t understand."
"It would be a sha not to try; you may not like it, but at least we gave it a shot!"
Encouraged by Mr. Wardrick, Lynch hesitantly follows his previous thod, spreading minced at on a slice of bread.
"No fishy sll, I thought it would be very gay," Lynch remarks about the little thing in his hand and takes a bite.
The taste... how to put it, it’s not as hard to accept as imagined.
The spirits sprayed at the end make its flavor easier to accept, followed by very tender at texture stimulating the mouth.
All tendons in this fawn at are hand-removed to ensure its tenderness.
The simple seasonings and salt quickly play a very noticeable role, feeling grains of salt bursting on the tongue, adding flavor and along with the imrsion of butter, a rich at aroma starts to spread across the mouth.
Fresh at, very fragrant, even if it’s raw.
It’s not just deer at that has this aroma, many ats have it, if soone has been to a slaughterhouse they would feel this.
Those cleanly slaughtered animals hanging on hooks coming out of the production line, approaching them and closely slling, beyond the fishy sll, there’s an impulse deep in human souls for slaughter and consumption of other species.
This aroma is the taste buds of predators generating flavor.
Lynch thought of many things in a flash, he finished the other half and sincerely praised, "Better than I imagined, the bread offers more possibilities and texture, but the most amazing is the at."
Mr. Wardrick wore an expression of "I knew it would be like this," "Very delightful, every step forward in our understanding of the world brings a change."
The deer leg was made into roast, not completely cooked, but close.
This seven to eight maturity gives its exterior a slightly charred feel, yet inside it’s juicy.
A very special dinner, every item cos from today’s harvest, including mushrooms in the mushroom soup.
Even if not picked by their own hands, they watched knights collect these things.
After chatting about food, they start discussing official topics, "Breaking the company apart, later investors will surely have opinions, I have no intention of judging your approach, but..."
He tears at smoked rabbit at while shaking his head, saying, "You might face attacks, people from those Military Industrial Groups are vigilant of others entering, if you don’t relinquish power, they’ll target you."
"Every year, the Congress has a minimum military budget approval of over ten billion, this year’s military budget has hit a historical high, they’ve approved twenty-two billion."
"There are many things we have already uncovered the whereabouts of, but there are still many others that have not been disclosed to the public, which involves so military secrets."
"This is a huge market, and if you rashly rush in without wanting to share with others, they will definitely regard you as an enemy."
Lynch greatly enjoyed today’s dinner, unlike any he had had before, because everything on the table was what they had harvested today.
It gave people a rare sense of fulfillnt, self-sufficiency, and independence; even if it doesn’t move others, as long as it moves yourself, it’s great.
Lynch showed cautious consideration regarding Mr. Wardrick’s words, but only to a limited extent.
"I’m not afraid of competition, and to be blunt, Mr. Wardrick, from the day I decided to build my business to now, no one has been able to defeat , at least I haven’t encountered anyone yet."
"Many people probably have a very naive notion..."
"Look, Lynch is nothing but a lucky kid. It’s actually very easy for us to deal with him. Just do this, and then that, and he is sure to lose to us."
His tone was sowhat exaggerated and comical, but undeniably, this is indeed what many people think. They don’t believe Lynch is remarkable and don’t even consider him as a mber of the upper echelon in this free Federation society.
He put down the relatively clean rabbit bone he had been tearing apart and looked seriously at Mr. Wardrick, "It’s not surprising they think this way because they haven’t been my opponent, and haven’t experienced the despair of Lynch."
"To speak without modesty, if I want to, I can overturn any industry and its rulers at any ti."
He used his hand to sandwich the torn rabbit at between a slice of bread, dipped it in the sauce made by the cook, and stuffed it into his mouth, chewing forcefully.
He impolitely continued to speak while chewing, "So people always want to swallow ; they are welco to try and see who will eat whom."
"These smoked rabbits are made well!" he did not forget to comnt on the hand-torn smoked rabbit at.
Mr. Wardrick looked at Lynch, perplexed by his own thoughts.
The confidence Lynch exhibited didn’t seem fake; every word he said was filled with conviction. This kind of confidence is infectious because it genuinely doesn’t sound fake.
It’s like an adult telling a child that he can lift a 10-pound dumbbell with one hand.
He can do it, so he speaks with confidence. People cannot be that confident about things they cannot do.
But... how does he do it?
He declared that he could topple all current industries at will, which seems impossible, right?
If the Military Industrial Group can’t threaten him and might even be reshuffled by him, then what about the industries run by himself? Could there be so unseen issues, constantly on the brink of being overthrown?
Of course, thinking does not hinder his socializing; this is a skill every high-society person must master.
One cannot neglect others and social interactions because of pondering a question, as this might offend so petty-minded individuals.
"Before winter arrives, they will choose so suitable wood to be made into firewood, which will impart a special aroma to the food smoked with it, much better than ordinary charcoal and firewood."
Lynch nodded, "I never refuse anyone investing in . There’s no issue with everyone making money together."
"I can lead them to make money, but they shouldn’t covet the power in my hands after they consu the profits I give them."
"That’s unreasonable, don’t you think, Mr. Wardrick?"
Mr. Wardrick nodded, "Since you have your own views, I won’t say more."
"Regarding the investnt issue, I think accepting shares without voting rights is okay."
He rubbed his eyebrows, "As you said, my goal is simply making money and gaining influence; I’m not responsible for anything else."
Lynch imdiately showed a more sincere smile, "Of course, of course, I will ensure the safety and return rate of every investor’s capital to the greatest extent. Believe , this will be the most successful investnt you’ve made in... twenty-three years!"
"Without exception!"
Rich people tend to conduct affairs swiftly and neatly. After finalizing so details, the next day, they returned to Bupen to have the lawyer draft a contract.
Mr. Wardrick’s investnt imdiately drew so attention from others; the entry of a giant implies that there truly is substantial interest involved.
For a ti, many people’s attention was focused on Lynch and the new companies he had established.
