Shhk!

"Huh?"

From his back to his chest, Shido felt as if he had been burned by fire.

He lowered his head and saw a blade shining with golden light piercing his chest.

[This is… bad…]

Because he had relaxed after seeing Mikoto, Shido had not opened a defensive barrier.

That gave Ellen, who had returned, the chance she needed.

"Yakumo… senpai…"

And so, while looking at the girl on the other side of the glass, Shido slowly collapsed to the floor.

"Shido—!"

Seeing Shido fall, Mikoto scread with everything she had.

She knew Shido had Kotori's fla protection.

But the problem was that she was currently imprisoned on the other side of the room, and Miku, who was playing her Angel, had no way to charm Ellen or Westcott.

At this rate, even if Shido healed, what awaited him would simply be another slash.

"I see. It appears killing Itsuka Shido is quite an effective thod."

Watching the girl lose all calm, Westcott laughed.

"Ellen."

"I understand."

At the man's signal, Ellen raised the sword in her hand.

"If you want to stop it, feel free. I will not stop you. Use your Angel. Use your Astral Dress to stop Ellen. If that is still not enough, then reach for sothing even farther beyond."

Westcott said with a smile.

"Stop… please… I'm begging you, don't kill Shido."

Watching Ellen step closer and closer, Mikoto's voice began to tremble.

Kotori's healing power had limits.

Especially now, the flas inside Shido's body were very weak.

Mikoto did not know whether it was because he had used too much power on the way here, or because Ellen's Territory was suppressing Kotori's power.

Either way, if Ellen was allowed to continue attacking him, Shido would truly die.

"I'm begging you! I'll do anything! Just Shido… only Shido…" (TL:shit, we got another tohka situation here)

Mikoto was definitely not a selfish person.

But for most people, there were limits to how important anything could be.

For Mikoto, only two things stood equally at the highest place in her heart.

Her own life.

And Shido.

Because she had promised Tsukuyomi that she would never easily give up her own life.

Because Shido had saved her, she loved this boy who was willing to sacrifice everything for Spirits, and for her. She wanted to protect him and give him every happiness.

But now, Shido was about to be killed.

Right before her eyes.

"Stop! Stop already!"

Mikoto opened a barrier, trying to protect Shido within it.

However, this room was controlled by a Territory. Tsukuyomi could not even cross that glass and reach Shido.

Not enough.

Just an Angel was not enough.

She wanted stronger power.

Power that could completely "reject" the glass before her, Ellen, and even the existence of Westcott.

Anything would do.

Righteous or evil, it did not matter.

As long as it was power that could save Shido, anything would be fine.

Thinking this, Mikoto watched helplessly as Ellen's sword swung toward Shido's neck.

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH—!"

It felt as if her consciousness had been locked away in so pitch-black world.

In its place, sothing else stepped out from within.

In a daze, a familiar voice rang beside her ear.

[No! You can't! You must not let "her" co out!] (TL:tsukuyomi back?)

"HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!"

The instant Ellen swung her sword down, Mikoto's Astral Dress began scattering light outward, while the night barrier folded inward and turned into a pitch-black garnt.

Seeing this scene, Westcott burst into laughter.

"Ike, this is…"

Ellen stopped moving out of sheer shock, staring blankly at the scene before her.

"The Sephira Crystal has inverted. Step back, Ellen."

Westcott gathered all the excitent and emotion in his heart into a low voice.

Then he spread his arms and declared:

"The Demon King has returned in triumph!"

[!!!]

On the other side, Shido, collapsed on the ground, struggled to lift his head.

What he saw was Mikoto, who had just been pounding madly against the glass, suddenly going still.

Then, a brilliant light burst from the girl's body.

Like the sun, it illuminated the entire room.

Crack! Crack! Crack!

Wherever the golden light touched, the walls, ceiling, and floor all turned to ash as if being burned away.

No, it was not burning.

Their very existence had been completely rejected, collapsing into particles.

A divine realm was originally a holy territory that even rejected the lives of those who touched it, leaving behind only what was pure.

It was harsh like the sun itself.

You could not look directly at it, or your eyes would be pierced blind.

You could not approach it, or you would be reduced to ash.

"Ike!"

Ellen leaped to Westcott's side and opened a Territory to protect him.

Miku also rushed to the fallen Shido's side and used a wall of sound to block the burning light barrier.

"Guh…"

But that was not enough.

It was like coming into close contact with the sun.

Ellen felt her Territory being consud at an alarming speed, like wastepaper in a fire.

She grabbed Westcott, kicked off the ground with force, and escaped from the cruel divine realm that rejected the continued survival of life.

On the other side, Miku was not so lucky.

Very soon, her "voice" was exhausted.

After using her Angel several tis in a single day, and after brainwashing tens of thousands of people, Miku had to face this cruel Demon King with the little spirit power she had left.

Before long, that remaining power was gone.

Although her Astral Dress still remained, before that barrier of light, it was probably no different from ordinary clothing.

But there was nothing that could be done about it.

Izayoi Miku had already understood long ago that she had nothing except her voice.

A Miku who had lost her voice was no different from the forr Tsukino Yoimachi.

Thinking about it, this outco was only natural.

She had controlled three Spirits, yet instead of enjoying that properly, she had co to this deadly place.

Even so, she wanted to witness true love.

Whether it ended in tragedy or cody.

Looking at Shido lying on the ground, Miku resigned herself to her fate and closed her eyes.

On Fraxinus, a piercing alarm kept ringing.

Hearing that sound, Kotori's brow twitched.

It was an alarm that would not normally be used—one that announced the most severe kind of ergency.

"What happened?"

Kotori scanned the screens, but she did not find anything that could be called an ergency.

"Commander… it's not that Fraxinus's observation equipnt still hasn't recovered or anything like that… no way…"

Below, a crew mber asked in a cautious voice.

"Hah? What are you talking about? The communication system is the one in chaos. What exactly happened?"

Kotori asked.

"Category E… Mikoto's spirit power is showing… a negative value."

Hearing that, Kotori's eyes widened.

The image on the secondary display turned abnormal.

Blinding sunlight poured out from the office building, turning everything around it into ash.

"No way…"

The worst possible situation had happened.

"The Sephira Crystal… has inverted…"

As Kotori spoke, she bit down and shattered the Chupa Chups in her mouth.
