Kotori's arrival completely changed the flow of the battle. The massive wide-range attacks from Camael swept through Kurumi's clones. With every swing of the battleaxe, the flickering flas turned swathes of Kurumi into ash. What was even more despair-inducing was that even when Kurumi used the Seventh Bullet-Zayin to stop Kotori's ti, and then coordinated with a massive number of clones to shoot the girl until she resembled a honeycomb, the healing flas would simply restore the fatally wounded Kotori back to normal.

A low health, squishy character relying on sustained DPS from clones had run straight into a character with massive AoE basic attacks plus healing and auto heal. Mikoto seriously suspected that Kotori's attributes were naturally built just to counter Kurumi.

Looking at the injured Kurumi she had just slashed, Kotori spoke with total composure.

Healing her wounds by reversing ti with the Fourth Bullet-Dalet, Kurumi roared in anger. In an instant, the chanical clock in her left eye began to spin wildly.

She grabbed her head and fell to her knees.

Seeing this, Shido anxiously called out his sister's na.

Kurumi had already aid her gun at Kotori.

Just when everyone felt helpless, Kotori stood up silently.

"Camael—giddo!!!"

Shido and Mikoto furrowed their brows. The two exchanged a glance, both noticing that sothing was terribly wrong with Kotori. The young girl's voice was freezing cold, and her glowing eyes radiated a furious killing intent.

The massive halberd began to transform. The fla-like blade vanished, and the long handle retracted into the cylindrical section connected to the axe head. It then wrapped around Kotori's right arm, absorbing the flas swirling around her like the main cannon of a battleship.

"'We'!"

Faced with Kotori's sudden transformation, Kurumi showed a look of fear. Countless clones moved in front of her, acting like a at shield to protect the main body.

"Turn to ash!!!"

Kotori's voice didn't waver in the slightest—it was cold and terrifyingly steady.

Imdiately after, a horrifying torrent of scorching heat erupted from the massive cannon barrel. Even standing inside Tsukuyomi, Shido could feel the temperature rise significantly.

If it wasn't for Mikoto's barrier, just standing on the rooftop would put them in danger of being burned alive.

The blindingly hot light made it impossible to keep their eyes open. When it was all over, what entered Shido's vision was a lted floor and fencing, and Kurumi kneeling on the ground with her left arm completely gone. On the giant clock face behind her, the section covering the numbers one through three had been lted by the heatwave, left mangled and destroyed.

"Raise your gun..."

But it wasn't over yet. Kotori aid the muzzle at Kurumi and spoke coldly:

"The struggle is not over. The war is not over. Co on, Kurumi, let us continue to slaughter each other. This is the war you wished for. This is the conflict you desired... If you aren't going to point your gun at , then please, just die."

Accompanying those freezing words was the cannon muzzle sucking in fierce flas once again.

"Stop it!!! Kotori—!!!"

This was absolutely not normal. The Commander of Ratatoskr, an organization dedicated to peaceful communication, was undeniably trying to kill Kurumi.

That was not Kotori in her normal state. No matter how much he tried to reason with her, it would be pointless. Realizing this, Shido ran in front of Kurumi and spread his arms wide.

"Tsukuyomi!!!"

Racing ahead of the crimson lotus, the dark night ford a triple Torii gate to block the path. However, even an Angel renowned for its defense crumbled before this terrifying bombardnt. The first Torii gate shattered into pieces in almost a single breath.

"Ugh..."

Mikoto strained, pushing her hands forward and using every ounce of her Spirit energy to maintain the barrier. But even so, cracks rapidly ford on the second Torii gate. The scorching heat seeped into the world of night; it felt as if the entire divine realm was burning.

"Sandalphon—!!!"

Tohka swung her broadsword, sending a purple slash piercing through the barrier to clash against Kotori's cannon fire. Joining her was Mana, who fired her own cannons with all her might. Realizing that Mikoto alone wasn't enough, the two joined the defense of Shido, trying to cancel out Kotori's power with counterattacks.

But it still wasn't enough. The second Torii gate quickly shattered, and the bombardnt crashed against the final line of defense.

The torrent of heat dyed the barrier red, and the temperature inside Tsukuyomi rose to the point where it felt like their hair was going to scorch.

[Hold it!!! I have to hold it!!!]

Mikoto scread in her heart. If she didn't block this, Shido would die. Tohka would die. Mana, Kurumi... and even herself, all of them would die right here.

[I promised Tsukuyomi.]

No matter what, she had to survive.

[I said I would protect Shido.]

She would absolutely never let Shido get hurt, let alone suffer the tragedy of being killed by his own sister.

After the bombardnt ended, what they saw was a Kotori who seed to have returned to normal. The young girl looked at Shido inside the barrier, as if confirming he was safe. After that, Kotori slowly closed her eyes and collapsed to the ground.

Shido dashed out of the barrier to Kotori's side, scooping up the unconscious girl and calling her na loudly.

"Phew..."

Mikoto let out a long sigh and dropped to her knees, as if all the strength had left her body.

Cold sweat soaked her school uniform. To think they almost got wiped out by one of their own—what a terrible joke.

On the other side, Tohka was supporting Mana. The young girl had been injured by Kurumi earlier, and had only managed to suppress her wounds using her Territory. Now, she had completely lost consciousness.

[Wait! Kurumi!]

Mikoto turned her head, only to find that Kurumi had long since vanished without a trace.

And just like that—the conquest of Tokisaki Kurumi ended in failure.
